"THE FUTURE OF PHARMACY PRACTICE: PROVIDER STATUS AND COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE"

The purpose of this live continuing pharmacy education program is to provide a variety of topics to properly educate pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with new and updated information, methodologies and advancing pharmacy techniques. This continuing education program includes the following topics: Telehealth, BioSimilar Updates, Provider Status and a UPS 797 Review. The pharmacy team will also get updates on Diabetes Mellitus, New Drug Updates, Oral Chemotherapy, Sterile Compounding, Breast Cancer and Ocular Disease, as well as a full Idaho Law Update. The presentations will continue by including development presentations in Clinical Pearls, Layered Learning Model and Pharmacy Promotion and Development. Two workshops on infectious diseases (immunizations) as well as professional development for pharmacy technicians are included. Finally, a law class will also be offered during the Proceedings.

TARGET AUDIENCE The "The Future of Pharmacy Practice: Provider Status and Collaborative Practice" Program is a Knowledge and Application-based CPE program. Each activity will include assessment questions structured to determine the recall of facts or applications of information learned. This program is designed and accredited specifically for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who practice in a variety of settings.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS

The Idaho Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ISHP)is a fully accredited provider of continuing pharmacy Education by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Participants attending all sessions and completing a program evaluation may be awarded 13.5 contact hours (1.35 CEUs) upon registration, attendance and completion of all required pre-tests, post-tests and evaluations that are available via the ishp.learningexpressce.com continuing education system. To properly claim ACPE credit, one must attend the ACPE accredited activity, in its entirety, and complete the post-test and evaluations that are provided online through Learning ExpressCE. In accordance with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) pharmacy credit reporting program, participants will have 60 days after the completion of the program to submit an evaluation for the activity. To claim credit and to help us assess your future educational needs, you must complete the evaluation process by November 23rd, 2016. After November 23, 2016, you will not be able to submit an evaluation or gain credit for the program. After you have completed your evaluations, the ISHP Learning Express CE system will process your credits with CPE Monitor / NABP automatically.

ISHP members receive a discount on conference registration fees. Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians, in all practice settings, are welcomed to become a member of the ISHP. Other health care professionals or

supportive industry partners may also join as associate members.

We offer special member rates for students, residents, retired pharmacists, and technicians. To become a member of the ISHP visit ishp.shuttlepod.org.

The ISHP Annual Fall Meeting is being held at the Sun Valley Inn at the Sun Valley Resort and Conference Center, Sun Valley Idaho. For hotel reservations, contact Sun Valley Resort at 1-800-786-8259 and ask for the special ISHP Annual Fall Meeting room Block or register online by clicking here. REGISTRATION

Meeting registration includes educational sessions and materials, access to exhibits, breaks, receptions, continental breakfast and lunch. All registrants wishing to gain credit for the sessions must register online at ishp.learningexpressce.com. Payment can be made on the Learning ExpressCE website or by registering online and mailing in payment to the ISHP office.

CANCELLATION POLICY

A full refund of registration fees will be made if ISHP cancels the program. Except in cases of emergency, no refund requests will be considered after SEPTEMBER 18th. All requests for refunds must be made in writing to the ISHP. Refunds will be processed following the meeting proceedings.

Moreover, pharmacists are being viewed as key team members in the development of patient-focused, collaborative health care practices. This educational presentation will provide detailed information on the legal landscape that would establish pharmacists as “providers,” on a state and federal basis, as well as, to discuss the legislative changes that are currently being considered that would establish this status. The presentation will focus on the role each state plays as well as the role of the federal government plays in determining what services pharmacists can offer to their patients.
