Head Coach Paul Lusk Paul Lusk (Southern Illinois, 1995) is 71-89 (.444) in his fi fth season at MSU and 73-112 (.395) in his sixth season overall as a head coach. He is 38-52 in MVC games (26-19 at home, 12-33 on the road), 3-4 in MVC Tournament games and 30-33 against all non-conference foes (20-11 at JQH Arena, 9-12 away and 1-10 at neutral sites). In all games, he is 46-30 at home, 21-45 on the road, and 4-14 at neutral sites. Lusk is 3-8 against Evansville and 0-1 at neutral sites against the Aces. The 44-year-old Lusk took the reins as MSU’s 17th head coach on April 1, 2011. He came to Springfi eld after seven seasons at Purdue (2004-11), including his last three as associate head coach there. Now in his 17th season in the coaching profession, Lusk has previous assistant coaching stops at Southwestern Illinois (1996-97), Missouri Southern (1999-2002) and Southern Illinois (2003-04) in addition to a one-year head coaching stint at (Div. III) Dubuque (2002-03). Lusk has played or coached in 10 NCAA Tournaments. Lusk fi nished third in the MVC Coach of the Year voting in 2014 and was a fi nalist for the Skip Prosser Man of the Year Award that same year. He was also named one of the Top 25 high-major assistants by FoxSports.com in 2010, and CollegeSportsMadness.com named him MVC coach of the year in 2012. He is a member of the Illinois Basketball Hall of Fame after scoring 2,743 points during a highly-touted prep career at Wesclin High in New Baden, Ill. He went on to play 107 college games at Iowa and Southern Illinois, earning All-MVC second-team honors in 1994 for the Salukis.

Bears Basketball History The Bears have an all-time record of 1621-945 (.632) in their 104th season and are 637-428 (.598) in their 34th season since making the move to Division I in 1982-83. During the Division I era, MSU has made NCAA Tournament appearances in 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1992, and 1999. With Tournament wins over Wisconsin and Tennessee, the 1999 Bears advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16. The Bears have appeared in the National Invitation Tournament nine times -- 1986, 1991, 1993, 1997, 2000, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2011. The 1986, 1993 and 2006 squads all reached the NIT quarterfi nals. In 2010, MSU earned the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament championship and in 2014 made their second CIT appearance in fi ve years. The Bears won NAIA national championship titles in 1952 and 1953, while making six NAIA national tournament appearances from 1939-1954. MSU also appeared in the NCAA Division II Tournament 10 times, fi nishing as national runners-up on four occassions -- 1959, 1967, 1969 and 1974. MSU has won 24 regular-season conference titles, including the 2010-11 MVC championship. The Bears have also recorded 28 seasons of 20 or more victories, including 15 times during the Division I era. The Bears hold the distinction of having four of the 25 best RPI ratings ever to be left out on NCAA Tournament as at-large selections. The 2005-06 squad had the 21st-best RPI on Selection Sunday, while the 2006-07 team was No. 36 the following year, both of which resulted in Tournament snubs. Likewise, the 1999-2000 squad was ranked No. 34 a year after its Sweet 16 run and was left out of the big dance. In 103 years, Missouri State has had just 18 losing campaigns and just four 20-loss seasons.

Missouri State University Missouri State University is a public, comprehensive university system with a mission in public affairs, whose purpose is to develop educated persons while achieving fi ve goals: democratizing society, incu-bating new ideas, imagining and making Missouri’s future, and modeling ethical and effective behavior. With a record enrollment of 24,735 (fall 2015), MSU is the second-largest institution for higher learning in Missouri, and its identity is distinguished by its statewide mission in public affairs. This mission requires a campus-wide commitment to foster competence and responsibility in the common vocation of citizen-ship. Missouri State University is a selective admissions, graduate-level, teaching and research institu-tion. MSU competes at the NCAA Division I level and is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference. Notable Missouri State alums include: Ryan Howard (2009 NLCS MVP, fi rst baseman, Philadelphia Phillies), John Goodman (actor), Kathleen Turner (actress), David Glass (owner, world champion Kansas City Royals), John Q. Hammons (businessman, hotel developer), Bob Holden (43rd governor of Mis-souri), Bill Mueller (2003 AL batting champ), and Jackie Stiles (women’s career scoring leader).

Missouri Valley Conference The nation’s second-oldest NCAA Division I conference continues to be a leader in college athletics and is one of the nation’s most progressive conferences. League members have worked together to fo-cus on common goals and objectives, putting a high value on league harmony while continuing to invest in athletic programs to compete at the highest level. Men’s basketball continues to be the engine that drives Valley athletic programs. In 2015, Wichita State (14) and UNI (11) represented the league in the fi nal AP rankings and gave the league its fi rst same-season pair of 30-win teams in Valley history. Both teams played in the NCAA Tournament, and Wichita State reached the Sweet 16. The Valley had the nation’s best post-season winning percentage (.824) as the league’s fi ve post-season qualifi ers combined for a 14-3 record, which including post-season tournament championships by Evansville (CIT) and Loyola (CBI).

The Series The rivalry between the Bears and Aces dates back to 1959 when the clubs met for the NCAA Division II title at Roberts Stadium in Evansville. The Bears lead the all-time series, 33-31, including a 4-1 mark at Arch Madness. This season, the Aces used a 20-0 run midway through the second half to squash MSU’s upset hopes in a 76-59 setback at JQH Arena (1/2/16). Chris Kendrix scored 16 for the home side, while Dequon Miller added 14, as the Bears forced 19 turnovers and snagged 10 steals. In the rematch in Evansville (2/6/16), MSU scored 32 points in the paint but couldn’t keep pace with UE’s 31 free throw attempts in an 83-64 loss at Ford Center. Kendrix scored 21 points and snagged 7 rebounds.Scouting the Purple Aces Coach Marty Simmons’ squad returns all fi ve starters from last year’s CIT championship club, including D.J. Balentine (6-2, Sr., G) who averages 20.7 points and 4.4 assists per game, while Egidijus Mockevicius (6-10, Sr., C) is producing 16.6 points and an NCAA-best 14.0 rebounds to go with 88 blocks. UE ranks 5th nationally in FG percentage (.499) and 6th in assists (17.9).Bright Future Emerges from Freshman Class MSU’s four freshmen players have emerged as an intrigal part of the club’s rotation this season, becoming just the fourth freshman class in program history to tally more than 600 combined points. The Bears’ freshmen have combined to play 2,238 minutes this season, which ranks No. 35 nationally among all Division I programs. They have also tallied 648 points (20.9 ppg), which accounts for 30.9 per-cent of the team’s offense. MSU ranks 54th nationally in freshman ppg and 58th in freshman scoring%. A summary of the freshmen class achievements: Jarred Dixon MVC All-Freshman Team; 30g, 17 starts, 8.0 ppg, 2.3 rpg; 9.6 ppg in MVC play 40 steals leads all MVC freshmen, 5th overall in MVC MVC Newcomer of the Week 2/1/16 Obediah Church MVC All-Freshman Team; 31g, 31 starts, 6.5 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 37 dunks 192 rebounds and 48 blocks lead all MVC freshmen; 6th overall in MVC in rebounds, 2nd in blocks; 4th in offensive rebounds Ryan Kreklow 26g, 5 starts, 6.9 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 37 3-point FG% .362 3-point pct. in MVC play Robin Thompson 18g, 1 start, 1.6 ppg, 1.2 rpg, .478 FG%

Hard to Be a Guard With the Feb. 29 announcement of a season-ending hand injury to Jarred Dixon (Fr., Kansas City, Mo.), the Bears have now lost four guards to season-ending injuries this campaign. Returning lettermen Dorrian Williams (Sr., Oklahoma City, Okla.), Austin Ruder (Jr., Nixa, Mo.) and Shawn Roundtree (So., Edwardsville, Ill.) are also out for the remainder of the season. Ruder, who started 25 games last season, has missed 26 games with a hip injury this season, Williams, a four-year starter, has missed 12 total games with separate hamstring and knee injuries, and Roundtree, who started twice last season, has been out the last 26 games with a hamstring injury. The Bears were 4-7 in league games without Williams who ranks 8th on MSU’s career minutes played list (3,083) and is 9th in assists (373).Overtime Wins Spark Home Stretch The Bears captured a pair of clutch home overtime wins in the second half of league play to reward the JQH Arena faithful. The fi rst came on Jan. 30 with an 84-81 win over Illinois State, and the second came exactly two weeks later on Feb. 13 with an 89-85 victory over Indiana State. In the Illinois State game, MSU got a 3-pointer from Dequon Miller with 2.2 seconds left in regulation to force overtime. In the extra period, the Bears overcame a seven-point defi cit to start overtime before Jarred Dixon took over in the fi nal two minutes, hitting a 3-pointer, drawing a charge and scoring the go-ahead basket with 71 seconds to go. Dixon also snagged a pair of key rebounds in the fi nal minute and iced the win with a pair of free throws with 2.3 seconds left in overtime. Against Indiana State, Camyn Boone tallied career highs with 30 points and 12 rebounds to help MSU hold off the late-charging Sycamores who overcame a four-point defi cit in the fi nal 20 seconds of regulation. MSU then rallied from an 83-79 defi cit in overtime with a bucket by Boone and clutch trey by Chris Kendrix in the fi nal minute to take the win. The last time the Bears sparked two overtime wins in the same season was 2013-14 (2-1) under Lusk, but previously, the club’s most-recent stretch with a pair of OT wins was in 2003-04 (2-1).Home Cooking With Missouri State’s Feb. 24 home win over Drake, the Bears capped an 8-7 record at JQH Arena this season and solidifi ed the program’s 45th straight winning season at home, a streak that began in 1971-72.Buzzer Beaters Defi ne Dequon MSU junior Dequon Miller (Charleston, W.Va.) has dropped in four buzzer-beating shots this season, three of which were game winners and the fourth sent the Bears into overtime in an eventual victory. Miller hit a driving layup at Oklahoma State with 7.3 seconds left on Dec. 5 to help the Bears to a 64-63 win in Stillwater in his fi rst game-winner of the season. He then hit game-winners in back-to-back games in early January with a layup with 6 seconds to go on Jan. 6 to beat UNI and knocked down a jumper with 3.4 seconds to play at Loyola on Jan. 9. He also drained a 3-pointer with 2.2 seconds left in regulation to tie the Jan. 30 game against Illinosi State at JQH Arena, a game the Bears won in OT, 84-81.Winning Ways in January The Bears posted a fi ve-win January for the fi rst time since their 2010-11 MVC championship run. MSU’s 5-4 run in January included three straight Valley road wins, also for the fi rst time since 2010-11.Bears Honored for Academic Success Nearly 60 percent of Missouri State University’s student-athletes -- 247 in all -- posted a 3.0 grade-point average or better during the fall 2015 semester and were recognized by Athletic Director Kyle Moats at JQH Arena on Feb. 2 on the semester Athletics Director’s Honor Roll. Among the recipients honored were three men’s basketball players -- Shawn Roundtree (So., Edwardsville, Ill.), Austin Ruder (Jr., Nixa, Mo.) and Robin Thompson (RFr., St. Louis, Mo.). Ruder was a fi rst-team selection to the MVC Scholar-Athlete team in 2014-15. Tyler McCullough (Jr., Fayetteville, Ark.) also earned a spot on the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team for the second year in a row.Dixon Breaks Record, Picks Up League Honor After breaking a school record and posting a career high, freshman guard Jarred Dixon (Kansas City, Mo.) was named Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week on Feb. 1. Dixon had a breakout week for the Bears, posting a career-high 19 points at Indiana State and then taking over in overtime to help MSU topple Illinois State at home. His 6 steals against Illinois State -- including 2 in the fi nal two minutes of regulation -- were a new MSU freshman single-game record and matched the third-best effort in program history. For the week, he averaged 16.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 2.5 assists. Miller Is Newcomer of the Year, Five-Time Award Recipient Junior guard Dequon Miller (Charleston, W.Va.) was named MVC Newcomer of the Week fi ve times this season, most recently on Jan. 25, en route to earning MVC Newcomer of the Year. Since the award began in 2003-04, only three other MVC players have won the honor more times in their rookie season -- seven-time winner Doug McDermott (Creighton 2010-11), and six-time winners Cleanthony Early (Wichita State 2012-13) and Marcellus Sommerville (Bradley 2003-04). Only four previous Missouri State players -- Danny Moore (1997), Mike Wallace (2001), Spencer Lau-rie (2007) and Adam Leonard (2010) -- have earned the prestigious honor of MVC Newcomer of the Year.

Coors Player of Week For the fi fth time this season, Camyn Boone (Sr., Mesa, Ariz.) has been named MSU’s Coors Player of the Week, a weekly team player of the week honor presented jointly by Coors of the Ozarks and the Adolph Coors Company of Golden, Colo. In a three-game week to close out the regular season, Boone posted double fi gures in scoring three times, including a team-high 17 in a win over Drake and a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds at Southern Illinois. For the week, he averaged 13.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and made 73% of his free throws. Sixth Place at the Turn After being picked eighth in the MVC preseason poll, the Bears compiled a 3-2 record on the Valley road to fi nd themselves in sixth place (4-5) at the midway point in the MVC slate. Over the previous six seasons, MSU has been 2-7 (2014-15), 4-5 (2013-14), 4-5 (2012-13), 5-4 (2011-12), 8-1 (2010-11) and 4-5 (2009-10), respectively, at the turn. The Bears made postseason appearances in three of those seasons with CIT bids in 2010 and 2014 and an NIT appearance in 2011. Freshmen Step Up in Key Road Wins MSU’s four freshman accounted for half the Bears’ points in the team’s Jan. 9 win at Loyola to give the Bears their fi rst MVC road victory since 12/31/14. Led by Obediah Church’s 10 points, MSU’s three true freshmen and one redshirt freshman combined for 28 of 56 points at Gentile Arena. Since then, the Bears picked up a Valley road win at Bradley (Jan. 16) behind a double-double from Church (13 points and 13 boards) and a career-high 12 points from Ryan Kreklow with the freshmen scor-ing 34 of 61 (56%) points in the win. MSU’s third straight Valley road win came on Jan. 20 at Drake with Jarred Dixon contributing 12 in a starting role, while Church snagged 8 rebounds, and the frosh combined for 22 points and 12 boards.Rare Loss in Streaky League Opener The Bears’ MVC opener at Illinois State on Dec. 30 snapped a six-game win streak by MSU in Valley openers, dating back to the 2009-10 season. The wild battle featured a 13-0 fi rst-half run by the Bears, who led by 13 points in the opening period, and an 18-0 run by the Redbirds in the second half. MSU end-ed the game on an 11-1 run and shot 46.2 percent from 3-point range (6-of-13), the club’s best percentage from beyond the arc in 35 games. The last time the Bears were as accurate from bonus distance was Dec. 17, 2014 at Tulsa (10-for-19, .526), also the last time MSU tallied 10 or more treys in a game.Hot Shots Avenge Early-Season Loss Missouri State shot 53.3 percent from the fi eld and jumped out to an 18-2 lead in its Dec. 16 victory over Oral Roberts at JQH Arena. The impressive 85-66 win avenged the Bears’ season-opening loss at ORU and gave the Bears their fi rst 50-percent shooting performance since Feb. 25, 2014 -- 44 games. MSU also got a career-high 27 points from Camyn Boone (Sr., Mesa, Ariz.) in the impressive home victory.Cardiac Kids Strike Again in Win over Jags Missouri State overcame a 14-point, fi rst-half defi cit on Dec. 10 to score an 88-74 win over visiting IUPUI at JQH Arena. Camyn Boone (Sr., Mesa, Ariz.) scored 24 points and snagged 10 rebounds in the win while starting the decisive 18-2 run in the second half that got MSU back on top. The Bears outscored the Jaguars 55-32 in the second half, turned the ball over just twice in that span and fi red at an impressive 59 percent clip (17-for-29) while making all 17 foul shots over the fi nal 20 minutes.Bears Get Gritty Win in Stillwater A driving layup by Dequon Miller (Jr., Charleston, W.Va.) with 7.3 seconds remaining helped Missouri State overcome a four-point defi cit in the fi nal 30 seconds and secure a 64-63 win at Oklahoma State on Dec. 5. Miller fi nished with a career-high 21 points to lead three Bears in double fi gures with senior Camyn Boone (Mesa, Ariz.) contributing 17 points and 9 boards, and Chris Kendrix (So., Willard, Mo.) adding 10 points and 9 rebounds in the win. Missouri State out-rebounded the Cowboys by a 41-31 margin and overcame a late charge by the Big XII club that saw OSU make 7 of its fi nal 10 fi eld goal attempts. It marked Missouri State’s fi rst road win against a power-fi ve conference foe since an 81-69 victory at Big East South Florida (12/22/06).MSU Continues Success in Home Openers With its 77-56 win over William Woods on Nov. 27, the Bears improved to 33-1 during their Division I era in home openers. The victory was MSU’s 13th straight home-opening win, including all 8 at JQH Arena. Block Party in Debut Freshman Obediah Church (Springfi eld, Ill.) snagged 10 rebounds and blocked 5 shots in his Missouri State deubt at Oral Roberts last Friday (Nov. 13). His block total marked the most ever by a MSU freshman and most by any Bear since Dec. 17, 2007 (Drew Richards). His 10 rebounds was the most by any MSU freshman in his debut performance since Drew Wilson (11) on Nov. 9, 2012.Kendrix Steals the Show Against Aggies Chris Kendrix (So., Willard, Mo.) snagged 6 steals in MSU’s narrow 69-68 home loss to Utah State on Dec. 1. The effort matched the third-best performance in program history. Kendrix became the 14th MSU player to grab 6 steals in a game, but fi rst since Spencer Laurie (1/15/08) and fi rst underclassmen since sophomore Deven Mitchell (2/26/05).

MSU GAME NOTES

Puerto Rico Tip-Off Recap Despite three defeats at the Puerto Rico Tip-Off in San Juan, Nov. 19-22, the Bears rallied for second-half comebacks against Minnesota and Mississippi State after trailing by 18 and 20 points, respectively, in those two games. Camyn Boone and Dequon Miller led the squad with 11.7 points per game, followed closely by Obediah Church at 10.0 ppg and Chris Kendrix with 9.7. Church also notched a team-best 6.3 rebounds per game. Miller also dished out 12 assists with four 3-pointers during the event.

The Bears out-rebounded their three opponents overall, 105-102, and out-board-ed two of their three foes at the tournament with double-fi gure totals for offensive rebounds all three games. MSU also outplayed and outscored its opposition in the second half for the tournament by a 115-113 scoring margin.

Memorial Patch Honors Lifelong Bear CarlsonMissouri State players will be wearing a commemorative patch for the remainder of this season to

honor long-time supporter, fan and former player Don Carlson (1945-2015) who passed away on Dec. 12. Carlson’s favorite saying “Two Thumbs Up” is portrayed on the patch as a perfect tribute to his winning attitude, love of Missouri State and his respect of the game. His attitude truly embodied the Missouri State University spirit and is a lasting model for current and future student-athletes. He scored 736 points for the Bears from 1963-67 and was the starting forward on the program’s 1967 NCAA Division II runner-up squad.Bears on the Air All Missouri State games will air live on the Missouri State Radio Network with Springfi eld fl agship station KTXR (101.3 FM) providing the feed to the seven-station network across Missouri as well as live audio streaming at www.RadioSpringfi eld.com. The voice of the Bears, Art Hains, fi rst began calling MSU’s action in 1977 and is in his second stint and 35th season overall. He called MSU games from 1977-81 and returned to the mic in 1985. Hains celebrated his 1,000th MSU basketball broadcast (and 2,000th career MSU event) on Jan. 2, 2013 against Illinois State at JQH Arena. Former Bears’ great Mike Keltner (1970-74) provides color commentary.MSU Retires Jersey of Coaching Legend Thomas A ceremonial jersey was retired on Dec. 10 to honor legendary men’s basketball coach Bill Thomas. Thomas’ legacy on the Springfi eld campus shaped the landscape of Bears’ basketball for nearly three decades as a player, assistant coach and most notably as head coach of the Bears for three trips to the NCAA Division II championship game in 1967, 1969 and 1974. He became the head coach of the Bears in 1964 and over the next 16 seasons, he directed Missouri State to eight MIAA basketball titles, more than any other coach in league history. Thomas compiled a 16-year coaching mark of 265-158, twice was hon-ored as NABC District Coach of the Year and in 1974 was named the College Division National Coach of the Year by the NABC. McCullough Mans Up in Uganda The last two summers, Missouri State center Tyler McCullough (Jr., Fayetteville, Ark.) traveled to Africa where he and a group of American ambassadors spent time with orphaned children in Uganda. In just a few years of existence, the “Man Up and Go” movement has served nearly 2,000 orphans, providing supplies, sports equipment and love to young, often cast-away orphans. The ambassadors built homes, painted, sponsored and even adopted children on their trips while serving the needs of the local communities in Ethiopia and Uganda. There are approximately 53 million orphans in Africa. For his efforts, McCullough earned the prestigious MSU Student Public Affairs Award in September of 2014 and was announced on Dec. 2, 2015 as a nominee for the NABC Allstate Good Workds Team.Always Game Day at the Kreklow House To say that Bears’ freshman Ryan Kreklow (G, Columbia, Mo.) comes from an athletic family would be an understatement. His parents Wayne (head coach) and Susan (assistant coach) are volleyball coaches at the University of Missouri where they have each had stints as head coach and co-head coaches over the last 16 years there together. They will be inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in March. Ryan’s older sister, Ali, just fi nished her sophomore season for the volleyball Tigers at Mizzou, while his older brother, Ricky, played college basketball at Missouri, California and Creighton. Before his volleyball coaching days, his dad was an All-American basketball player at Drake and was later a member of the NBA World Championship Boston Celtics in 1980-81. His mom was also a college volleyball player at Missouri State before her highly-touted coaching career. Famous Family for Thompson

MSU redshirt freshman Robin Thompson (St. Louis, Mo.) is the great nephew of Louisville All-American and Missouri Valley Conference great Wes Unseld. Unseld enjoyed a 13-year NBA Hall of Fame career with the Washington Bullets. Thompson’s cousin, Wes Unseld, Jr., is on the coaching staff of the Denver Nuggets, and his uncle George Unseld was a standout at Kansas who was later drafted by the LA Lakers.

Beginning January 4, the Missouri Valley Conference will conduct weekly Monday teleconferences featuring the league’s 10 head coaches. Media wishing to participate may call (877) 441-0939. The teleconference dates are January 4, 11, 18, 25; February 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and March 1 (postseason award winners) and March 14 (postseason teams only), with coaches taking questions

Comebacks Becoming Team’s Calling Card MSU has overcome double-digit defi cits four times this season, including comebacks at Drake on Jan. 20 and at Loyola on Jan. 9. The Bears also erased a 14-point defi cit at home against IUPUI on Dec. 10 to win 88-74, then overcame a 10-point margin at home against Northern Iowa on Jan. 15 with just 9:14 left in the second half. In the Drake win, the Bears trailed by 15 with 5:50 left in the fi rst half. During Paul Lusk’s fi ve seasons as head coach, the Bears have overcome defi cits of 10 or more points on 14 occasions, including a high-water mark four times this season. Limiting Turnovers Over the past fi ve seasons (2010-11 through 2014-15), only a handful of Division I programs com-mitted fewer turnovers per game than Missouri State (10.82). In MSU’s 164 games in that span, the Bears had just 1,774 mishaps, which ranks 9th among all programs, ahead of all Division I teams except Wisconsin (8.33), Michigan (9.83), Cal Poly (9.92), Notre Dame (10.33), Virginia (10.54), Northwestern (10.54), Northern Iowa (10.71) and Temple (10.78). Signing Day Success Missouri State head basketball coach Paul Lusk announced on Nov. 12 the receipt of National Letters of Intent from three standout newcomers in his 2016 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 2 in the MVC by 247sports.com. Greg Williams (G, 6-6, 180, Fr., Lynchburg, Va., Genesis Academy), Jarrid Rhodes (G, 6-7, 195, Jr., Palmetto, Fla., Palmetto High, Northern Oklahoma Tonkawa College) and Alize Johnson (F, 6-8, 200, Jr., Williamsport, Pa., St. John Neumann High, Frank Phillips [Texas] College), comprise one of the strongest groups of signees in program history. Greg “Boogie” Williams, who plays for his older brother Harry Williams at Genesis Academy in Lynchburg, Va., was ranked as high as No. 16 among all point guards in the Class of 2016 by Rivals.com and is a 4-star recruit by ESPN. The website 247sports.com now has him lasted as a 3-star recruit and the No. 45 guard in this year’s class. As a prep junior, Williams reached 1,000 points in career scoring and averaged 13.5 points, 7.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game for an 18-11 squad at Genesis. He is the Bears’ fi rst top-100 national recruit since Kevin Ault who was landed by former coach Steve Alford in November of 1995 as a USA Today Top 25 prep standout. Jarrid Rhodes averaged 10.0 points and 6.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists last season as a freshman for coach Donnie Jackson’s Mavericks at Northern Oklahoma Tonkawa College. He is a 70-percent free throw shooter, made good on 45.6 percent of his fi eld goals and dropped in 31 3-pointers as a juco fresh-man while corralling 48 offensive rebounds. He was part of a 19-12 run by the Mavericks last season. Originally from Palmetto, Fla., Rhodes helped coach Reggie Bellamy’s Palmetto High Tigers to a 23-6 record and Class 7A regional title his senior season. 2015-16 MISSOURI STATE GAME-BY-GAME SUMMARY

Game 31March 3, 2016, Scottrade Center, St. Louis, Mo.March 3, 2016, Scottrade Center, St. Louis, Mo.Missouri State 69, Drake 67Missouri State 69, Drake 67 A pair of free throws by Loomis Gerring with 11 seconds to go helped lift Mis-souri State past Drake, 69-67, here Thursday in the fi rst round of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. Chris Kendrix scored a game-high 21 points for MSU, while Dequon Miller pitched in 14 points and a team-high 7 rebounds. Kendrix matched a career high with fi ve 3-pointers, while Kreklow added three to help the Bears knock down 10 shots from bonus distance – their second-best effort of the season from 3-point range. Missouri State committed a season-low six turnovers and blocked 7 shots to help overcome a 37-27 rebounding defi cit and a 60-percent shooting effort in the second half by the Bulldogs. After leading by 10 at the midway point, the Bears saw their advantage slip away as DU opened the second stanza with a 13-2 run in the fi rst four minutes to lead 43-42. But Missouri State weathered the storm with Ryan Kreklow knocking down a short jumper, Miller draining a clutch trey, and later with a three from Kreklow to push the Bears back on top 50-45. The Bulldogs tied it again at the 12:44 mark, but Kendrix answered on MSU’s next possession with a 3-pointer, and Gerring scored on MSU’s next two trips with a 16-footer and a free throw to give the No. 7 seed a 56-50 advantage. After Timmer calmed with waters briefl y with his second long-range jumper of the game, the Bears looked like they might put it on ice. First, the Bears got a clutch trey from Miller and moments later added a back-breaking dunk by Obediah Church on an in-bound play with 7:57 remaining to make it 62-53. But, Missouri State would go the next six-and-a-half minutes without a fi eld goal, and the No. 10-seeded Bulldogs kept biting. A 13-2 run gave Drake a 66-64 lead with 1:48 to go as Timmer got the rim for and “and one” opportunity on a block/charge call that went DU’s way. Timmer missed the ensuing free throw, and the Bears marched ahead to Kreklow who drained a clutch 3-pointer from the right wing to give the Bears the lead again, 67-66, with 91 seconds to play. Paul Lusk’s squad then stepped it up defensively, collecting steals on Drake’s next two possessions – the fi rst by Kendrix and the second by Gerring, who fi nished with 9 points and a game-high two steals. Gerring was fouled with 11.7 seconds to go, and he made both to make it 69-66. The Bears then fouled Drake as they brought it across mid-court to prevent the Bulldogs from attempting a 3-pointer. Kendrix gathered in the rebound off the miss on the second free throw with just over 4 seconds to go to secure the win.
