Division III. Meetings are usually held on the second Wednesday of each month. Guests are welcome.

MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING (5/28/16): Motion to approve as written by Lesley; Second by Chris; passed unanimously.
TREASURER’S REPORT (Link Newcomb): A balance sheet summary was handed out at the meeting. The old accounts were closed and transferred to the new checking account as Chk=$11,071.04, Sav=$15,001.98. New 2016 Income=$817.06, Total new Chk Acct=$26,890.06 + Fixed Asset (Trlr) of $1,500.00 = $28,390.08 Total Club Asset. Chris made a motion to accept the summary, seconded by Cindy, motion passes..
CORRESPONDENCE RECEIVED BY SECRETARY: PCBC 2017 Specialty approval letters received from AKC. Discussion ensued regarding the additional Sweepstakes reflected in the letter on Sunday's event. It was verified with AKC it was a mistake on the original application submittal. All will be corrected with the change applications to be submitted pending the Club's vote on a 2nd Specialty Show on Saturday's event.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: AKC Delegate (Link Newcomb) – Bob and Link Newcomb recognized by AKC as father and son AKC
delegates, otherwise Link to defer report at this time.
AKC Education (Scott Johnson) – Nothing to report.
BCA Representative (Lesley Dehaas) – Next Division meeting is in October, emphasis on recruiting new members.
Bullpup (Scott Johnson) – Scott is taking on publishing of The Bullpup on an interim basis. Look for a volunteer to become the Editor.
Breeder’s Match (Sherian Evans) – Bridgette Garduno nominated by Link to judge Breeders match. Seconded by Kay, nominations closed, voted on, passed unanimously.
Challenge Trophy (Renee Benjamin) – Resignation of Renee, Lesley to take over. Counts current until July.
Champion Awards (Scott Johnson) – New plaques need to be ordered. Kay is going to check w/ Aimee on her contact and Scott to solicit a bid from a friend.
Fun Match (Brenda Newcomb) - Nothing to report.

Futurity (Sherian Evans) – Lesley nominated by Sherian to judge Futurity. Seconded by Kay, nominations closed, voted on, passed unanimously.
Membership (Debra Munt) – No new members. Debra to send up to date roster to Scott and Lalaine. Current rooster reflects 144 members total, 22 Juniors, and 37 Lifetime.
Specialty (Sherian & Kay) – 2016 Specialty: Refer to the financial report as distributed at the meeting.2017 Specialty: Same hotel, new rules. Exhibitors to not use hotel towels to bathe dogs, we need to ensure that club and exhibitors to maintain grounds by picking up after their dogs. Ballroom cost is $1100/day.
Rescue Committee (Debra Munt) – There are currently 100 dogs in rescue with only 42 volunteers. Debra looking for more volunteers. Amberlyn will speak to Debra re :volunteering. Scott requested Debra to provide a list of upcoming events to present to the club. The Pet Expo is on the agenda for the next meeting. Per Cindy, last one was a huge success.

Social Media (Antonio Lemes) – Nothing to report.
OLD/UNFINISHED BUSINESS – As discussed in Board meeting, the Specialty judges will stand as voted on at the May General Meeting and are as follows: Saturday show - Judge Carlos Albuquerque and Sunday - Judge Dr. John Gann. In the Board meeting it was discussed and agreed on to have a second show on Saturday. The Sweepstakes was moved to Sunday prior to the Specialty Show. In the General Meeting, nominations were held for the second Saturday show, Adrian Quesada was the only nomination and voted in. Erica Peters to judge sweepstakes on Sunday. Sherian is to with Lalaine to submit updates to AKC to add the second show, change the Club Officer list and to submit the Judging panel.
NEW BUSINESS - Open nominations for 2017 Board of Directors: Link nominated Lydia Torralva, Scott nominated Kay Gray. May make more nominations next meeting. - Link brought up the Membership Challenge as the number of division members decides the number of counselors to represent. - Link to work with Kay on presenting a letter to Dr. Butchko which will contain a series of questions from the BCA. - Scott to research the trailer registration. - The October meeting to be held at the Northkirk Presbyterian Church, 7pm, following the Futurity & Breeder Matches. - The November meeting to be held at the City of Industry Saturday, 11/5, show location 30 minutes after breed. *The Board needs to meet after the 2 upcoming club meetings.

Futurity Match, Rules
1. Only puppies bred by members in good standing with the Pacific Coast Bulldog Club, Inc. are eligible
2. The Futurity Match will be held at the August regular meeting unless mentioned otherwise. 3. The Bitch is nominated prior to breeding or no later than two (2) weeks after actual mating. 4. Nomination fee is ten dollars ($10). No additional fees are required after the litter is born. 5. To keep the litter eligible, the member must advise the Futurity Chairperson of the date and the
number and sex of the puppies before the puppies are sixty (60) days old or ten (10) days prior to judging of the Match, whichever comes first.
6. Puppies three (3) months and under fifteen (15) months are eligible. 7. All fees to be paid to Futurity Chairperson. 8. Futurity Chairperson may show at this Match. 9. Puppies with points or Championship may show at this match. 10. Puppies can only be shown once in a Futurity. 11. The breeder must be a member in good standing on the date of the Match for puppies to be
shown. DIVISION OF FUTURITY MONEY
12. Ten percent (10%) to be deducted for expenses. 13. Futurity Chairperson will purchase ribbons for First through Fourth Place. 14. The remaining money is to be divided as follows: First Place receives forty percent (40%), Second
Place receives thirty percent (30%), Third Place receives twenty percent (20%), Fourth Place receives ten percent (10%).
15. The club will provide a trophy to go to the Winner of First Place to be held for one (1) year. Permanent possession will be after three (3) wins of First Place. Not necessarily in succession.
JUDGE WILL BE SELECTED ACCORDING TO RULES FOR SELECTION OF JUDGES . SLATE OF JUDGE NOMINATIONS SHALL BE VOTED ON TWO GENERAL LMEETINGS PRIOR TO THE FUTURITY. MANNER WHICH ENTRIES ARE JUDGED
16. If the number of entries is less than fifteen (15), then they are judged as one class, regardless of sex.
17. If the number of entries are fifteen (15) or more, the class will be divided into Junior and Senior. Under and over six (6) months respectfully, regardless of sex.
18. From each class, the judge selects four (4) best entrants, then from the eight (8) finalists, the judge awards First, Second, Third, and Fourth.
