Athletic camps are sponsored by the Office of Community and ProfessionalEducation in partnership with the college’s Athletic Department.
The 2017 Summer Athletic Camps willprovide an opportunity for boys and girlsto acquire knowledge, develop interest,learn techniques and improve skills in avariety of sports.
All camps are under the direction of ahead coach with a sufficient number ofassistant coaches to provide low coach-to-camper ratios. Campers will be dividedinto groups according to age and ability.

DROP-OFF/PICK-UPCampers must be dropped off and pickedup at the McDonough Sports Complexlobby. Children should not be dropped offprior to posted start times. There will notbe supervision available until that time.
Camps will end promptly at the desig-nated time. Coaches will be available for15 minutes after their individual campends. Children must be picked up by thattime, unless enrolled in extended care,and parents must come inside to sign outtheir child. All campers must provide theirown transportation.
LUNCH (Full-day campers only)Campers are expected to bring their own lunch. Limited snacks and beverageswill be available for purchase at HVCC.Refrigeration is not available. All campersshould bring a labeled water bottle daily.
INSURANCEEvery camper is covered by an excess ac-cident insurance plan. It provides excessmedical and accidental death protectionduring camp participation and also whiletraveling to and from Hudson Valley Com-munity College.
EXTENDED HOURS FOR ATHLETIC CAMP PROGRAMS
HALF-DAY CAMPS(Except golf, due to off-site meetings)Morning extended care is available from8 - 9 a.m. for an additional charge of$10/week. There is no afternoon ex-tended care for half-day camps unlessyour child is registered in an afternoonSummer Academy program.

Students who sign up for a morning Athletic Camp and afternoon SummerAcademy class must pay the $10 fee forsupervised lunch (lunch is NOT provided).Camp staff will transport children to theViking Child Care Building (DCC) forlunch and the afternoon program.
FULL-DAY CAMPSMorning extended care is available from 8 - 9 a.m. for an additional chargeof $10/week. Afternoon extended care is available from 3 - 4 p.m. for an additional charge of $10/week. Extended care will be held in the McDonough Field House.

ATHLETIC CAMPS
Advanced GolfAGES: 11-17Designed for golfers who have the funda-mentals of the full swing, chipping andputting and want to learn to refine theseskills. We will learn advanced skills andhow to manage those skills on thecourse. This camp is great for golfers who are either playing on their schoolteam or are trying out for their schoolteam. Golfers should be able to hit aclub between 100-150 yards.
This camp will focus on advanced skilldevelopment and playing on the course.We will be walking so the campers willcarry their bags or have a push cart. Equipment: All campers should have theirown clubs. We will be at a course eachday so dress accordingly. AdventureAGES: 8-16The adventure program is a series of activities designed to challenge partici-pants on both an individual and groupbasis. Presented by trained instructors,the program encourages teamwork, cooperation, focus and responsibility. Adventure program campers work together to successfully maneuverthrough obstacles and creatively solvechallenges. All SportsAGES: 7-14This camp provides partic-ipants with a unique opportunity to experience a variety of camps in one setting. Throughout the week, varioussports will be featured. AMAZING ATHLETESAGES: 4-6Amazing Athletes is a develop-mental sports and fitness program that teaches children the basic fundamentals and mechanics of nine different sports: baseball, basketball, football, golf, hockey,lacrosse, soccer, tennis and volley-ball. Our program incorporates exercises for gross motor develop-ment, hand-eye coordination, cardiovascular fitness, speed andagility, stretching and muscle tone.The sports will be divided upthroughout the week.
