Session, Butler-Blanc Plaza We value critical thinking at Carson-Newman and are excited to have you experience part of our low challenge course during this session. 12 - 1 p.m. Lunch, Stokely Memorial Cafeteria 1 - 3:30 p.m. CNU One Stop Shop Carson-Newman offices will be available in one location on the second floor of Ted Russell Hall. You will be able to pay your bill, check on financial aid, and gather vital information to be ready for CNU! 3:30 p.m. - 6:30p.m. Free Time Offices will be open during part of this time for IDs, parking decals, and more! 6:30 - 7 p.m. Prayer Walk, Henderson Lawn Meet us at Henderson Lawn for a prayer walk on campus that will end at First Baptist Church, Jefferson City for our welcome ceremony. 7 - 8 p.m. Welcome Ceremony, First Baptist Church Our welcome ceremony is a traditional event where the President and many others from the University welcome you and your parents to our Carson-Newman family. 8 - 8:30 p.m. Family Transition Time Take some time with your family to say “see you soon” as you move forward with your experience.

Sunday, August 27

8 - 9 a.m. Breakfast, Stokely Memorial Cafeteria

9 – 10 a.m. Worship Service, Gentry Auditorium Come worship with our faculty and your fellow first-year class.

10:30 a.m. Trips to Local Attractions, Music Bldg. Parking Lot See what East Tennessee is all about and visit some of our beloved treasures. Make sure you talk to your orientation leader if you have not signed up for a trip.

9 p.m. Residence Hall Meetings, Heritage and Burnett Hall

Come talk with your resident assistants about what hall life is going to be like and all the “ins and outs” of residential living.

Monday, August 28 (Night Classes Begin)

9 – 9:45 a.m. Academic Orientation Session Presented by Student Success, Gentry Auditorium

10 – 11 a.m. Advising & Registration, Academic Departments *Students Who Did Not Attend Early Registration

11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Advising & Registration, Academic Departments *Students Who Need to Change Existing Schedule

12– 2 p.m. 2016-2017 Student Employment, Small Cafeteria Would you like to find a fun, exciting way to get involved in campus life? If you have been awarded federal work study on your award letter, come to our student employment job fair. -On-the-spot interviews. Bring your resume and a smile!

-Meet an array of departmental supervisors and Carson-Newman family. 12 – 2 p.m. 2016-2017 Bonner Service Fair, Small Cafeteria

Service is a key experience at Carson-Newman University. Come meet with the Bonner Center and see what service opportunities are available. From on-campus to off-campus, a service experience is waiting for you. Come be the difference!

2:30 - 5:30 p.m. Service Learning Activity, Henderson Lawn We value service; it is part of our community and heritage. Join us for an introduction to service at the University.

Tuesday, August 29 (Day Classes Begin)

5:30 p.m. Block Party, Henderson Lawn Come join the campus and community for our beginning of the year celebration. There will be food, live music, and fellowship!

Orientation session times and locations are subject to change.

If schedule or location changes are made, you will receive a revised schedule during check-in.
