The Hibernian Society of Utah was formed 40 years ago to
promote and preserve Irish history, culture, and traditions
within the State of Utah. The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is the
Hibernian Society’s flagship event of the year. Originally
self-funded, rising costs and a new parade purpose has created
the perfect opportunity to extend an invitation to the
community to help: a portion of the funds raised for the parade
will be donated to a different charity or non-profit! And what
better way to celebrate the 40th year of Hibernian Society of
Utah’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade other than the one that’s been
with us since the early days? We are proud to announce that
the 2018 St. Patrick’s Day Parade Grand Marshal is The
Shriners Hospital for Children!
-Location & Attendance -
Parade will run down 200 South from 500 East to The Gallivan Center
More than 30,000 spectators expected in 2018
Diverse, family-oriented audience

SPONSOR PARADE ENTRY GUIDELINES
1. The Hibernian Society of Utah manages the parade and all decisions made by the or-ganization are final.
2. The parade committee reserves the right to deny parade applications.
3. Unsigned applications will not be accepted.
4. All entries must report to the check-in location (TBD).
5. All motorized vehicles must be driven by a driver with a valid driver’s license and main-tain a speed of 2 mph.
6. Only approved animals are allowed in the parade due to liability and safety concerns.
7. Entries will be judged on appearance, enthusiasm, and creativity at the corner of Main St. and Hillside Dr.
8. Please maintain spacing and limit stops.
9. Detailed parade line up information will be provided by email approximately one week prior to the parade. This information will include a map of the parade line up and staging area and route, an alphabetical list of entrants and a numbered list showing each en-trant’s location in the parade line up.
10. NO REFUNDS. This is a rain or shine event.
11. No candy or any other objects shall be thrown from any parade unit. Failure to abide will result in refusal of entry in future St. Patrick’s Day Parades, and/or the possibility of a lawsuit, should an accident occur as a result of your violation.
12. All parade entries must have an entry number to participate in the parade. Entry num-bers must be displayed on the right front of your entry to identify the entry to the an-nouncing stage and Parade Marshals.
13. All sponsor entries are allowed up to 3 vehicles. 18. No motorcycles other than SLPD are allowed – no exceptions. 19. No component of any entry may exceed the height limit of twelve feet. Suspected en-tries will be measured to assure compliance. This restriction is mandated for safety reasons by UTA, where overhead transit cables are involved.
