Upper East SideSix story distinguished residence including a duplex terrace. Limestone façade, ground floor entrance with bracketed keystone and foliate motifs, continuous balcony at base of second floor round-arched windows with bracketed keystones, hand course at base of third story windows with full framing, medallioned cornice above fourth floor, all windows have multi-paned sash or casements, molding and roof parapet. This block of East 69th Street is lined with impressive townhouses dating from the early 20th Century which replaced earlier row houses from 1870s and 1880s. The major townhouse redevelopment on the block occurred after 1910. No. 29 was redesigned in neo-French Classic style in 1919 for Carl F. Boker by S. Edson Cage. Sloan & Robertson engineer and surveyor.

This beautiful private home has been updated, redesigned and decorated by the internationally renowned interior architect, Juan Pablo Molyneux.

ENTRANCE FOYER (STREET LEVEL)A bright and well-proportioned foyer with a working terracotta fireplace mantle welcomes you with white and black marble floors flowing from iron and glass double doors from the street. The staircase to the upper floors as well as the elevator with an interior cab handsomely inspired by paintings by Caravaggio, a powder room, and a spacious corridor leading to a well-equipped Gym with very generous closets. A charming balcony overlooks a lower patio. A smaller bedroom and its bathroom follow. Staff quarters and living area.

SECOND FLOORPrincipal Living Room | A beautifully proportioned southern exposure room with three tall, elegantly round-arched windows with glimpses of a balustrade extending across the façade of the house. The ceiling height is 11’2”. There are heated black and white marble floors, working fireplace with a French marble Regency mantle early 19th Century. The walls are covered in Venetian inspired velvet with embossed velvet borders and details.

The commanding pair of bronze/glass doors matching the shape of the windows were cast in Lyon. They lead to a generous foyer landing with richly decorated lacquer walls inspired by a XVII century Chinese screen of a maritime study from a Portuguese museum. Discreetly hidden is a guest coat closet, a powder room and the elevator, all masked by the lacquer panel.

The matching bronze door opens to a splendid scagliola library, this “marble” crafted from a composite of marble paste and marble dust in layers with repeated polishing after a 16th century Italian method. These walls were made in St. Petersburg, Russia, one of the few remaining sources. A wood burning fireplace with a French Louis XVI style marble mantle. There is a delightful exposure towards greenery and a lower patio. All windows throughout are double glazed. Office | A serene room decorated in light wood paneling and woven leather. An inner staircase connects the gym and basement below.
