Fridley Area Just For Kix
Summer Class Offerings Come dance with Just For Kix this summer! Open to both new and expe- rienced dancers. Classes will focus on technique, flexibility and strength, and learning a fun dance routine! Older classes focus on kick and jazz technique, and may be split based on experience level.

Driver’s Ed Training (Ages 14-18) Classroom training can be taken by students who are 14-1/2 years or older and consists of 10 three-hour lessons. Each lesson is independent and can be taken in any order. If a lesson is missed, the student can make it up when and where it is convenient at either another Fridley Community Education class or at a Safeway classroom. Lesson calendars are available on Safeway’s web site.
Behind-the-wheel training consists of 3 two-hour private lessons which can be scheduled online or by calling Safeway’s office (651-351-9150). Pick-up and drop- off is at home, school or work. Training is done in a white late-model car with Safe- way’s “Student Driver” graphics.
Classroom training and Behind-the- wheel training are included in the cost.
Safeway Driving School was selected by Fridley Community Education to provide teen driver’s education. Safeway is the largest driving school in Minnesota. It has an A+ rating with BBB and is a BBB Accredited Business. Safeway has 70 expe- rienced instructors backgrounded and licensed by the MN Dept. of Public Safety.

Summer Chess Camp (Grades K-8) Challenge yourself! Play Chess! Exercise your brain! This is an excellent opportu- nity to develop better Chess Skills in the summer! In addition to playing chess in a relaxed, friendly setting, campers will also get to play a variety of other enjoyable board games, puzzles and sport activities. Players will be divided by skill level. Receive $5 off for registering multiple chil- dren (must call or stop in to apply discount).

“Hey Girl” A program of Growth, Independence, Responsibility and Leadership (Ages 13-16) As a Certified Life Coach Practitioner and Youth Mentor Instructor, Mrs. Sims’ goal is to establish ongoing relationships aimed to achieving personal growth and self-development for adolescences in areas of self-esteem, confidence, and communication skills. Mrs.Sims has been a supporter for youth for over 6 years through mentoring programs and teen groups. She continues to grow programs that strive to give hope to our youth who are in need of advocates that believe in them. This camp will provide a safe and fun space where girls can have freedom of expression and embrace their true selves. The girls will be building long-lasting friendships with other girls that share similar experiences through daily fun activities. Child and Babysitting Safety (Grades 4-8) Learn the responsibilities of being a prepared, responsible, safe babysitter. Topics included are feeding and diaper- ing techniques, safety, child development, first aid, and fire safety. Participants will receive a Child and Babysitting Safety book and will work towards receiving an ASHI approved safety certification. The class will include baby dolls, bottles, and diaper supplies.

Home Alone Camp (Grades 3rd - 6th)
Just mention the words “Home Alone” and children think of the excitement depicted in the movies of the same name. The reality of being home alone can evoke fear and anxiety in many chil- dren. Whether left alone for an hour after school or several hours a day during the summer, children should feel comfort- able being alone. This workshop for chil- dren will address several topics relating to being “Home Alone” including personal safety tips, tricky people, basic first aid, fire safety, handling the unexpected, internet safety, dealing with boredome, storm safety, and trust and honesty.

Boulder Pointe Equestrian
My Little Horse Camp (Ages 2-5)
This parent/child camp will feature horse safety, learning and fun! Spend the morn- ing learning different horse breeds, colors, and sizes. Participants will help feed, care, and groom the horses of Boulder Pointe. Bring your camera to snap photos during pony rides to conclude the class.

Horseback Riding - WEEKLONG Day Camps (Ages 6-18) Enjoy horses? Learn how to work with & ride horses including balance & control in the saddle, leading, & in-hand work then participate in fun activities. Help to feed, water, & care for horses. Camps run rain or shine! Outdoor/indoor arena & miles of trails! Enjoy the bond of being able to spend everyday with a special horse. Parent/guardian to drop off 9am / pick up at 3pm, each day Monday through Friday.
