Please read a book on Bug Club today
and complete the quizzes.
Rainbows have a special pattern of 7 colours. We have been drawing a
lot of these lately. Some people have a rhyme to remember the colours
of the rainbow! Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet. They
say it is a boys name! ‘ROY G BIV’. Can you create your own rainbow
and give it a name?
Remember you have to pick 7 colours but they don’t have to be the
same! Have a think! What name will you give your rainbow? Remember it
is the first letter of each colour. There are lots of different colour
names. Can you find some unusual ones?
If you have a copy of the story
‘Zog’, please read it to your child. If
not, you can watch a video of it
here:

Zog – Draw your own Dragon
Maths – 2D Shape Castle, Knights and Dragons
Cut some shapes out of paper – you could cut out some triangles, circles,
squares and rectangles. Place the shapes onto a piece of paper to make
a shape picture. You could make a castle, a knight or maybe a dragon!
What shapes did you use?
Can you draw your own dragon,
incorporating some of the features
already mentioned in the story,
such as sharp teeth and claws,
wings, horns, long tail, scaly skin.
Add labels to your picture and
think of a dragon name.
Durham Music Service are currently streaming

School Rules
Maths – Dragon Dance
Zog studies for years at Dragon
School. He learns how to roar and to
breath fire and to fly. What school
rules do you think dragons will have?
They might be a bit different to the
school rules you are used to!
Can you come up with 10 rules for the dragons? (Slide 5). Are you able to write
these rules down so we don’t forget them!
For the festival of Chinese New Year people dress up as dragons to perform
and ward off evil spirits! Design your own dance!
Plan your moves! The dances are very spectacular! Have a look on the internet!
See if you can do 20 moves. (Like we did with the rain dance!) Here is mine!
DRAGON DANCE3 head shakes
3 big kicks 2 arm flaps
2 turns 3 strides
1 small roar2 side steps right 2 side steps left
2 big roars!
Have a look at some of the
masks you can see in the
Chinese New Year
Celebration. Can you make a
special dragon mask to wear
when doing your dance? You
could do a special Zog
version!
Please read a book on Bug Club today and complete the
quizzes.
Do not breathe fire inside!
Do not fly in the playground.

Zog – When I Grow Up
Maths – Zog’s Rewards
Can you build a castle to protect a
princess from the dragons?
Make a model castle. You could use
cardboard boxes and tubes, building
bricks or empty packaging. You could
even make your own castle outside
or inside by using other materials.
We would love to see your creation
when it is finished!
Princess Pearl would like to
be a doctor when she grows
up. What would you like to
be when you grow up?
Can you draw a picture and
write a few sentences to
explain your choice. Zog is a star! Zog earns his star for catching princesses. Can
you help add stars to his star chart?
Please see slides 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 for questions to
solve.
You may like to use a ten frame to help you.
Please read a book on Bug
Club today and complete the
quizzes.
Zog has been so successful.
Look at all his stars! How many
does he have? How many would
he have if he had 4 more?

Maths: Zog’s Star Reward – Make Your Own
Please read a book on Bug Club today
and complete the quizzes.
Free Write Friday
You can choose what you write about.
Think carefully about your audience, purpose and form. Don’t forget
capital letters and full stops!
Can you organise your own ‘Novelty Race’ with different
tasks like we do on Sports Day?
An example could be:
• Egg and spoon race.
• Skip
• Throw a ball into a hoop
• Spring
Can you get your parents and siblings to join in too?
Sports Day
Make your own rosette reward. Zog’s star is a special one
with a backing like a rosette! He really is best in show. Make
your own for yourself or something special for your family.
Could you make a reward in another shape? All you need is
some paper and some scissors and something to make it a
nice colour. Think about the shapes in your house you could
draw around to help you.
