These new safety measures may take additional time so please be patient with us as we greet your children and welcome them into the building. Do not use cell phones while in the carpool process. Please put our students’ safety first. Pay attention to the staff as they give direction, they are here to help! For the first few days, plan on extra time for pick up and drop off. Arrival Procedures for North & South Cars line up in the same order facing the same direction as in previous years. Students in grades Pre-K through 8th-grade exit cars from the passenger side when directed by Saint Simon staff. Students in grades Pre-K through 8th-grade stand next to their car with masks and backpacks on until they are greeted by a staff member and told to go into the building. Students in grades Pre-K through 8th-grade are only to enter the building through the doors that they are directed to by staff. All families with Preschool students must use South Drop-off. Families will drop of PreK-8 th grade students at the school drop-off, then proceed to the church overhang for Preschool drop-off. South Arrival called South because all cars will turn left and head South when leaving school. Students in grades PreK through 8th grade who arrive in the front half of the car lines (directional arrows will be displayed) will enter the building using the Prayer Garden sidewalk. A staff member will greet the students inside the doors (entrance #22) to assure all students arrive in their classrooms. Students in grades PreK through 8th grade who arrive in the back half of the car lines (directional arrows will be displayed) will enter the building through the doors (entrance #19). A staff member will greet students as they enter the building to make sure all students arrive in their classrooms. Students are to walk into the school to assure physical distancing. North Arrival - called North because all cars will turn right and head North when leaving school. First Round of cars will form four rows of cars facing the Sims Center - Students in grades PreK through 8th grade in rows 1 and 3 are released and enter the building through the left- hand doors (entrance #18). Then students in rows 2 and 4 are released and enter the building through the right-hand doors (entrance #18). North Remaining Rounds of cars - two rows of cars - Students in grades PreK through 8th grade in row 1 will enter the building through the left-hand doors (entrance #18). Students in row 2 will enter the building through the right-hand doors (entrance #18). Students are to walk into the school to assure physical distancing.

St. Simon the Apostle School North Carpool-Arrival Cars enter north entrance and drive slowly to back parking lot of school. Staff member will direct cars to form lines parallel to

school. Four lines for the first iteration and two lines for the remaining iterations. Staff will give the signal for students to begin exiting cars. All students exit wearing masks and stand next to their cars. Once all students are out of the cars, staff will

walk down the vehicle line dismissing students. Students in North carpool must go in north carpool doors (No crossing to south doors). Cars will turn toward athletic fields and exit back out the north entrance.

St. Simon the Apostle School South Carpool-Arrival

Cars enter the south entrance and drive along far right side of the parking lot. Curve left toward the school and create two lines. Staff members will give the signal for students to begin exiting cars. All students must exit cars on the side of the car nearest the school, wear masks, and stand next to their cars. Students should wait by their car for a staff member to release them to either the prayer garden or school’s south doors. Students in South carpool must go in South carpool doors (No crossing to North doors).

Preschool Morning Drop-off • Parents will go through the south carpool lines but will not release their Preschool child. • Parents will proceed when directed by the Saint Simon staff to the church overhang. • Parents will wait until they pull in under the overhang to release their Preschool child to the

Preschool teachers and assistant. • The Preschool teachers and/or assistants will assist the students from exiting their vehicles

and entering the building. Dismissal Procedures for North & South

• There is no change to the way cars will line up for afternoon dismissal. o North Carpool will form rows facing the Sims Center. o South Carpool will line up in the 2 rows of parking spots facing the church and

school. • Students in Preschool, Pre-K, and Kindergarten will be escorted by their teacher or an

assistant at 2:35 for dismissal. Parents (wearing masks) will come to the exit doors and sign their children out and return to their car. If you have students in older grades, turn on your flashers after you return to your car.

• 1st through 8th grade students are dismissed from their classrooms as your Family number is entered by staff.

• If you are part of a carpool, please be sure to display the Family numbers of all the students in your carpool.

• Flashers “ON” – Waiting for students. Flashers “OFF” – all students are in your vehicle.
