A Message From Your Principal…Mrs. Keely Beaudette Dear Parents, I hope you all enjoyed the beautiful weather this weekend. It is going to be much cooler weather this week, so please make sure your child comes to school with a jacket or sweatshirt. We will still go outside as much as possible. Students may wear shorts up until November 1st. Thank you to all of you for your continued flexibility and for all who watched the new morning drop off video this weekend. This morning procedures went very smoothly and everyone did a wonderful job. We will continue with this new procedure moving forward. Please make sure your

child is getting out on the right side of the car. If you and your student need more time to get out to the car, I encourage you to use the back drop off lot. Many families are pulling into the back lot to have more time to help their children out of the car. Thank you to Mrs. Katie Pappas and our second grade students who wrote and delivered kind notes and mini pumpkins to our neighbors last week. We received a really nice email from a neighbor who appreciated the note from the second grade student. She said it really brightened her day and made her smile. Thank you Mrs. Pappas for helping our students spread kindness in our school neighborhood. As many of you know, the Covid-19 guidelines are causing us to need more substitutes for many different reasons. If you are interested in being on our sub list or know anyone who is, please have them call the office. We are in desperate need of more subs, especially for our 5th-8th grade homerooms. With that being said, I would like to give a big Thank You to Kaitlyn Blanford (director of religious education) and Kyle Stein (our youth minister). They have come to help us out in a pinch and we have been so lucky to be able to call on them to help sub when a teacher is out unexpectedly. It takes a village and I really appreciate their willingness to step in. If you have a child in 5th-8th grade, please remind them to charge their Ipad at night. We have had many students come in with their Ipads completely dead. They need their device to be fully charged so that they can participate in the classroom activities. Please help us by reminding your son/daughter to charge their device each night. Thank you!

Picture Day SPX School Picture Day is THIS WEDNESDAY September 30

th. Pictures will be taken first thing in the morning.

Students may dress up this day. Appropriate collared or non-collared shirts are permitted (no writing on the shirts). Shirts are to have sleeves. Length of shorts and skirts/dresses are also to be appropriate length. Jeans are permitted (please make sure that there are no holes in the jeans). Inter-State Studio has not given us paper order forms this year. To order, please go to www.inter-state.com/orderand put the code number 52013CB. You can order pictures until 10/5/20 without a shipping charge. Otherwise, you still will be able to order until the end of 2020, but shipping charges will apply. A picture “re-take” day will be scheduled, but we don’t have a date for that yet. Any E-Learners may come in on that day. New Morning Drop Off Procedure

Starting Monday, September 28th, families will no longer drive through the neighborhood. Please stay on Sarto Drive. We will go back to having everyone turn LEFT into the lot like we did at the beginning of the year. As you turn left into the front lot, you will still follow the cones and go parallel to the school building but then you will follow the cones to drive back away from the school and then come back up to the first drop off point. This will look like a large S through the school parking lot. We will have many cones out to help show this path. You will continue to pull forward until the car in front of you stops or you are the first car to drop and then your child(ren) will get out on the right side of the vehicle still. Please watch the video to help explain this process.

The back lot will be open for ANYONE that needs/wants to park and walk their kids up. Parents if you are walking your child(ren) from the back lot, you may walk to the corner of the front lot (by the kindergarten doors) but we ask that you do not go farther.

Please watch video: https://youtu.be/MDWl-pdpnko

Morning Movers With the new morning drop off plan, Morning Movers are MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER! Please volunteer to help if you can!

Volunteer through the Sign-Up Genius below to be a part of the Morning Movers crew!! Our Morning Movers will assist with making sure that kids get to the correct door for entry after exiting their vehicles, assist with temperature checks as students approach the door and will help with the tear down of the screening stations at each door entrance. The time commitment is small (just 30 minutes in the morning) but the impact is significant. The Morning Movers will be an essential part of ensuring our students and staff start their day off on the right foot! This is an outdoor volunteer opportunity however everyone will be required to wear a mask and please be sure to dress for the weather. Reach out to Katie Koers if you have questions or need more information. Thanks!!

Opportunities to Support SPX School There are so many ways for families to help the school raise funds for cash and supplies. Please review how you can help! Ask grandparents and friends to help too!! Box Tops for Education Physical Box Top clips are being phased out of production, but may continue to be found on many products throughout the store. Send your clipped Box Tops, along with any unexpired clips you may have at home, to school.

HOW TO EARN BOX TOPS MAKES IT EASY No more clipping. No more sending Box Tops to school. All you need is your phone. Download the ALL-NEW Box Tops app, shop as you normally would, then simply scan your store receipts to find participating products. The app will automatically credit your school's Box Tops earnings online. BUY BOX TOPS PRODUCTS Look for the logo. You can find it on hundreds of products you know and love. SCAN YOUR RECEIPT No more clipping. Tap the scan button and snap a photo of your receipt within 14 days of purchase. EARN CASH FOR YOUR SCHOOL It's that easy! Box Tops earnings are identified and automatically updated online. Twice a year, SPX will receive a check. You can always send your receipts into school and Kathy Jorgenson will scan your receipt using the app. She will then shred your receipt. Tyson Labels A+ 1 2 3 Help your school with every bite! Check out your favorite Tyson products for Tyson A+ 123 label. Remember, you have to cut out the whole label which includes the 1 2 3 to count. Each label is worth 24 cents cash to SPX! For more information, go to www.projectaplus.tyson.com Let's Go Krogering!! Please take a moment to register your Kroger Plus Card for Kroger Community Rewards. Just by scanning your Kroger Plus Card, you will be raising funds for our school. You must enroll your individual Kroger Plus Card to our account number. Go to www.kroger.com/communityrewards. Our NPO number is BE629. SPX receives a check from Kroger every quarter. Office Max When you purchase qualifying supplies at Office Depot or Office Max you can raise funds for SPX School. Please let them know you wish to participate in the Give Back to Schools Program. SPX School is ID #70036553. You will need to give the ID # each time you shop, either online or in the store. Staples Reward When making purchases at Staples please give SPX #3905297861 and we will get rewards for it. Coke Rewards If you drink Coke products or know anyone that does, please save the reward codes for us. The codes may be found on the lids of 20 oz. and 2 liter bottles. On 12 and 24 pack cans the codes can be found on the perforated cardboard flap you tear off to dispense the cans. Just send in the caps and cardboard flaps with the codes. Thank you. It all adds up! Any physical Box Tops, Tyson labels or Coke codes can be put in the metal mailbox at the back at church as well as brought into school. Thank you for your help!!
