SPED Updates

• SPED case managers have attempted contact with all parents of students with disabilities.

• Virtual Learning Plan Meetings have begun and will continue through September 4, 2020.

• Meetings are being set up, beginning with our high schools next week, for all special education staff to have an opportunity to meet with special education coordinators and Heidi Hill, Executive Director of Special Education.

Community Engagement and Strategic Support Updates

• First Day of School Campaign Team has been created and includes LSGT, PAB, and TAB members• Goal is to provide information and foster enthusiasm for

the first day of school. Team is providing guidance regarding device deployment and repair, student material pickup, and community engagement.

• Project PALS (Promoting the Advancement of Learning for all Students)• Coordinating list of youth serving organizations who can

provide additional engaging and enriching activities to students

Childcare Update

• Coordinating childcare options with local childcare providers to determine capacity to serve school aged children

School Level Town Halls

• Many of our schools are hard at work planning school based town halls and Open Houses

LSGT University is scheduled for August 25th and 26th 5:30-7:30 p.m.
