Dear Champions Club members and future members,Thank you! Thank you for supporting our 350 student-athletes on an
annual basis. Please know that your generosity is never taken for granted by our student-athletes, coaches or athletics staff.
The opportunity to represent the University of North Dakota and the State of North Dakota in Division I athletic competition throughout the country is a special one. It is a privilege that we as administrators and coaches impress on our student-athletes daily, accompanied by these expectations:
1. Earn your UND degree2. Be a Leader in Action3. Perform at your highest level
(in the classroom, community and competition)As you consider joining or rejoining the North Dakota Champions Club,
note the academic achievements on the next page. They exemplify the well-rounded nature of our student-athletes and the initiative they take to capitalize on the opportunities you make possible.
Of course, winning championships is also something that we are working toward daily. Our “4 C’s” pictured above are the foundation of our performance on and off the field. These principles could not be achieved to their fullest without your faithful commitment.
I want to sincerely thank you for your continued support while allowing me the opportunity to serve UND as your Director of Athletics.
Sincerely,
Bill Chaves, UND Director of Athletics

Impact Scholarships help offset the cost of annual scholarships. Gifts to Impact Scholarships are not invested; rather, 100% of your yearly pledge will directly benefit a student-athlete scholarship. In 2019 we projected about $230,000 in gifts to Impact Scholarships. In 2020 we are excited to project $315,000. We are moving in the right direction, but with an overall scholarship bill of $5 million, your support to Impact Scholarships is critical.
BENEFITS OF CREATING A SCHOLARSHIP • Designate your gift to a specific sport and even a specific position.• Name a scholarship.• Be recognized on the Ralph Engelstad Arena Legacy Wall for the length of your
pledge (if your gift is $25,000+).• Meet the student-athlete(s) selected to receive your scholarship.• Receive North Dakota Champions Club Priority Points (must be Champions Club member).

“We just love everything about UND! We have enjoyed cheering for all the sports with our family and friends. We want to convey to all the athletes how proud we are of them and wish them all the best. Like Coach Berry always says, ‘This is a culture we have here – with the fans and players.’ We are so thankful to be a part of it!” KEITH & JO STREYLE IMPACT SCHOLARSHIP DONORS

Endowed scholarships are an investment into the future, providing perpetual financial support that increases over time. To lay the permanent groundwork for our program, we need to increase our scholarship endowment support for the long term.

SUPPORTING SUCCESSAshely Brueggeman played Right Side Hitter/Outside Hitter during the Fighting Hawks 2016-2019 volleyball seasons. As team captain, she finished her volleyball career making UND's top-10 in kills (8th) and points (6th). Brueggeman plans to continue helping her team as Volunteer Assistant Coach while finishing her mathematics/secondary education degree in 2020.
Brueggeman attributes the ability to succeed on the court and in the classroom to her supporters behind the scenes. During the 2019 Champion Builders Reception, she had the opportunity to meet one of her scholarship donors, Jeff McKay.
"The scholarships that I received while at UND have meant everything to me. It gave me the rare opportunity to continue playing the sport I love while receiving a great education,” said Brueggeman. “I was also fortunate enough to meet some amazing benefactors, building relationships with the generous and gracious people that made it all possible."
McKay's parents established the James, JoAnn & Jeffrey McKay Athletic Scholarship Endowment in 1992. Since then, the endowment has supported over 10 athletes with athletic scholarships.

The cost to support our valued competitors continues to rise. Between travel, academic services and sports medicine treatment, full-ride scholarships require at least $25,000 to maintain.
Currently, more than half of our student-athletes compete without a scholarship but continue to give their time and talent to UND's success.
The ND Champions Club is filling the gap for UND Athletics through the MVP Campaign, an initiative that raises funds for additional athletic scholarships and program support. You can go above and beyond your membership contribution by making a donation to the MVP Campaign.
$100 donation = 3 Priority Points

OUR GREATEST NEED: SCHOLARSHIPS With consistent increases in tuition, the Champions Club strives to raise more dollars each year to support growing scholarship costs and additional resources. Your membership can help ease UND Athletics’ financial burdens, allowing UND to recruit the best and brightest student-athletes.
The Champions Club strives to cover expenses and scholarship dollars for all of UND’s student-athletes. The total annual cost of scholarships across all sports is over $5 million. We are dedicated to meeting this challenge through Champions Club memberships, the MVP Campaign, Impact Scholarships, and Scholarship Endowments.

How do I build Champions Club Priority Points?Champions Club Priority Points are built through NDCC Membership actions and involvement at UND (see chart above).
Do gift pledges or payment plans toward my Champions Club membership affect my points? Priority Points accumulate as gifts and payments are received, not at the time they are pledged.
What is the purpose of Priority Points Ranking?Priority Points Ranking allows for a systematic, orderly and equitable process to prioritize ticket requests, including season tickets, away game tickets, postseason tickets and other benefits. The higher your ranking, the higher priority is given to your ticket requests.
How do you determine my Priority Points Rank?Your Priority Point Rank is determined by your Priority Points. The more Priority Points, the higher your ranking. All Champions Club members are ranked 1 through 2,865. So, a member with 2,800 Priority Points is ranked 100. A member with 170 Priority Points is ranked 1,500.
