21Y su señor le dijo: Bien, buen siervo y fiel; sobre poco has sido fiel, sobre mucho te pondré; entra en el gozo de tu señor.21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord

22Llegando también el que había recibido dos talentos, dijo: Señor, dos talentos me entregaste; aquí tienes, he ganado otros dos talentos sobre ellos.

22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.

24Pero llegando también el que había recibido un talento, dijo: Señor, te conocía que eres hombre duro, que siegas donde no sembraste y recoges donde no esparciste; 25por lo cual tuve miedo, y fui y escondí tu talento en la tierra; aquí tienes lo que es tuyo.

24Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: 25And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant,

26Respondiendo su señor, le dijo: Siervo malo y negligente,

28Quitadle, pues, el talento, y dadlo al que tiene diez talentos. 29Porque al que tiene, le será dado, y tendrá más; y al que no tiene, aun lo que tiene le será quitado.

28Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. 29For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

30Y al siervo inútil echadle en las tinieblas de afuera; allí será el lloro y el crujir de dientes.

30And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Diligence is rewarded; negligence is punished

19Después de mucho tiempo vino el señor de aquellos siervos, y arregló cuentas con ellos.19After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them

Everything should be done with a view of the day of reckoning which is coming!

Todo debería ser hecho pensando que en cualquier momento será la venida del Señor.

30And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

30Y al siervo inútil echadle en las tinieblas de afuera; allí será el lloro y el crujir de dientes.

Many are the lessons that can be gleaned from this parable of "The Talents". The main lesson is simple:

Be productive where the Lord has given you ability and opportunity!
