    21st Century Skills Digital Badges

The Foundation for California Community Colleges has partnered with New World of Work and the Mozilla Foundation

The team developed a list of Primary Attributes per skill for use in a new assessment and digital badging platform within LaunchPath for 21st

    Century Skills

These digital badges are considered micro-credentials showing verification of skills

    www.launchpath.com

  • The Foundation for CA Community Colleges and the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship are partnering with NWoW on co-facilitation of trainings

Trainings allow instructors to earn certificates to teach 21st Century Skills curriculum and understand the digital badging process for traditional and adult learners

  • Education & Workforce Development21st Century Skills & WIOA

The new WIOA legislation encourages partnerships amongst employer organizations, education programs, and local Workforce Development Boards to provide career focused training, including soft skills

The 21st Century Skills coursework provides ready-made curriculum that can be integrated into courses, workshops, or trainings co-run by community colleges & Workforce Development Boards

These partnership organizations could contact the Foundation CCC to discuss access for adult learners to earn 21st Century Skills digital badges through LaunchPath

  • State Employment & Adult Learners:

CSI Competency Project To help fill this shortage, education

and training providers can partner to provide preparation for the Civil Servant Exam and soft skills training, which is considered a baseline for all State positions

The 21st Century Skills curriculum can be used for this soft skills training

The States goal is to work with educators and training providers to help fill these positions

    Due to upcoming retirements

within the next three years, the

State is facing a huge labor

    shortage of qualified civil

    service workers

    For example, at the Franchise

    Tax Board an estimated 47%

    of employees could retire in

    the next 3 years
