Declan was one of only 15 Stage 1 students to qualify for the event, which is an outstanding achievement considering that there are over 200 schools in the Directorate. Even more significant, Declan was the only Stage 1 student in the whole Kogarah network to qualify for this stage of the competition. Although he didn’t win on the day, Declan should be extremely proud of his achievements. Well done Declan! State Athletics Championships Congratulations to Kurt Michael 5/6T, Christopher Booth 5/6I, Hussein Hammoud 5/6B and Christian Vasilevski 5/6B for their outstanding efforts at the State Athletics Championships at Homebush. Kurt finished 4 th in the High Jump with a personal best jump of 1.60m while the boys also ran a personal best time of 55.25 seconds in the 4 x 100m Relay. Although the boys missed qualifying for the final, it was a fantastic effort and a wonderful experience competing at such a high level against such talented athletes. Well done boys! The boys at the event with The boys being recognised for their Melinda Gainsford Taylor achievements at the school assembly Presentation Day for 2019 This year, our Presentation Day for all classes K-6 will be held in the hall at Blakehurst High School on Thursday 12 th December. The assembly will commence at 10am and run until approximately 11:30am. An official invitation will be sent to families this week which the school is asking be returned as soon as possible so that we have an indication of spectator numbers on the day. We look forward to seeing many families in attendance to help celebrate the wonderful achievements of our students. Fundraising News Congratulations to our Year 6 students who raised $740 at their recent fundraising event. The money will go directly towards subsidising costs associated with end of year events. Our SRC also raised $200 at their Family Fun Night stall. This money will go directly to an organisation that supports our farmers in times of need by contributing to the payment of their bills and other essential living costs. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our students and parents who have been so generous right across the course of the year. The money that has been raised across the school has directly supported educational outcomes for students or been donated to worthy charities to support people in need.

Our canteen would welcome any volunteers who may wish to pop in and give a hand. Any time you have is a help, in 15 - 30 minutes in the mornings, lots of little jobs can be completed that really help set us up for the day. Chopping fruit for smoothies, chopping veggies for our tucker boxes, making a batch of muffins. Even sticking on our name labels is big help. Angela and Mary would love to see you.
