    Boston Louis Jewelers is

    happy to announce its

    exciting addition of the

    Nomination line of jewelry.

    Nomination bracelets were very

    popular several years back

    and since then have

evolved into a veryextensive silver fashion

    jewelry collection with

    styles that are right in

    line with todays top

    designers.

    All of the pieces are

    crafted in Italy, renowned

    for some of the best-made

    jewelry in the world, and

    most are in the very

    affordable $100 to $300

range. An excellent fea-ture of high-end Italian

silver jewelry is that it is

    treated with a metal from

    the platinum family called

    Rhodium. Rhodium treating not

only gives silver jewelry the beau-

tiful clean look of platinum or

    white gold, it more importantly

    keeps silver from tarnishing.

    Boston Louis Jewelers is

    extensively carrying theNomination Romantica suite

just in time for Valentines Day.

    The Romantica suite consists of

    beautiful modern-styled sterling

    silver necklaces, bracelets and

    earrings in filigree heart shapes

that are accented with 18K rose

    gold overlay details.

    Boston Louis is also carrying

    Nominations Sorrento and

    Sofia suites. The Sorrento fea-

tures geometric circles with sun, cloud or heart-shaped cut-though

    patterns, whereas the Sofia suite

    uses perfectly cut pastel-colored

    semi-precious gems such as laven-

der and green amethyst, light blue

    topaz, smokey, citrine, and

    green/gold quartz complimented

    by brilliant white cubic zirconias.

All are gorgeous, and all are pret-

ty enough to be worn with formal

    attire, but are designed foreveryday.

    The wonderful thing about

this Nomination line is that with

    many matching earring, pendant

    and bracelet sets available, you

can add to your jewelry wardrobe

    with each special occasion. Any

piece in this stunning line is sure

to please that special someone in

    your life!

    Whether you are still suffer-

    As you assemble the

    paperwork youll need

    to file your 2012 tax

    return, take a minute to

    review some last-minute

moves you could make to cut

last years tax bill. Also, pay

    attention to deductions you

    shouldnt overlook. Heres a

    quick checklist.

    The American Taxpayer

Relief Act, signed into law onJan. 2, 2013, has some tax-

    savers for 2012. The law

    restored the following tax

    breaks for 2012 through 2013:

    The optional deduction for

state and local sales taxes in

    lieu of deducting state and

    local income taxes.

    The above-the-line deduc-

tion for up to $4,000 for qual-

    ified tuition and related

    expenses.

    The above-the-line deduc-

tion for up to $250 of class-room supplies purchased by

    teachers.

    The exclusion from income

    for cancellation of mortgage

debt of up to $2 million on a

    principal residence.

    The deduction for mortgage

    insurance premiums.

    The tax credit for making

    energy-saving home improve-

    ments.

    If youre in business, the

    new law included some tax

breaks you shouldnt overlook. The first-year expensing op-

    tion for equipment purchases

    in 2012 was increased to

    $500,000, with a $2,000,000

    total limit. The research tax

    credit, the work opportunity

    credit, and the 15-year recov-

    ery period for qualified lease-

    hold and retail improvements

    and qualified restaurant prop-

    erty were all made available

for 2012.If you qualify, you have

until April 15 to make a

    deductible 2012 IRA contri-

    bution. The maximum 2012

    contribution is $5,000 if

    youre under age 50 and

$6,000 if youre 50 or older.

    The $2,500 deduction

    for student loan interest is

    still available for 2012 and

can be taken even if you

    dont itemize deductions on

    your return.

    The tax law gets more

    complicated every time Con-

gress passes another bill, butdont let your tax bill

    creep higher than necessary

    through oversight. Call our

office if you want details on

any of these or other ways to

    cut your 2012 tax bill.

    Unfortunately, the ob-

    stacles to securing a

    successful portfolio are

    overwhelming. In fact, some

    people believe there are more

reasons for financial failurethan success. These include:

    dividend income tax, ordinary

    income tax, state income tax,

    capital gains tax, commissions,

    management fees, manager/

    advisor or self-made investment

    mistakes, inflation, changes in

    governmental policies or gov-

    ernment grid lock (aka political

    risk), currency risk, stock mar-

    ket crashes and corrections,

bond selection risks (such asissuer default or downgrades),

    abys-mal anemic interest rates

    on savings vehicles, and virtual-

ly no interest on cash at all!

    What is the poor con-

    sumer/saver/investor/employ-

    ee/self-employed/retiree to do

or have to look forward to and

    how will they accumulate

    enough capital against this vast

    array of obstacles? How will

they be able to secure an

    income necessary to survive

    and prosper during their retire-

    ment years? How can they

    assure a successful journey into

    retirement and the peace of

    mind of a secured continual

    income stream from their port-

folio once they make the finalannouncement: Ive worked

my last today; Im now retired!

    Are these good questions?

Dont the facts speak loudly for

    themselves? Are you confident,

    complacent or contrite about

    your financial future? Would

    you like to guarantee your

results or know in advance the

    least you can accomplish in

    portfolio accumulation and

minimum monthly or annualincome that would be sustain-

able for the rest of your life,

    and/or your spouses lifetime,

without it reducing or it coming

    to an end?

    Think about this for a

    moment: from 1992 through

    2011, according to Blackrock,

    the 20-year annualized growth

rate of oil was 8.6 percent,

    stocks performed 7.8 percent,

and bonds rose at an annualized

rate of 6.5 percent. Over the

course of these years, the annu-

alized rate of inflation was 2.5

    percent and homes increased

    2.3 percent per year. However,

    the average investor saw his

portfolio grow by an annual rate

    of just 2.1 percent, under-per-

    forming inflation!

Let me ask again. If you

    could, would you design a

    guarantee right now, in

    advance, of the income your

portfolio would pay you as a

    lifetime income beginning five

years from now, 10 years from

now or even 20 years in your

future? Would you like to guar-

    antee the minimum income

growth in your portfolio, for up

    to 20 years straight, knowing

    that great market perform-

    ance, above the baseline guar-

    antee, would make that

income even greater? I bet you

    would sleep better with the

    knowledge that negative mar-

    kets would never reduce your

    income, yet positive perform-

    ance certainly would acceler-

    ate and enhance it!

I demand success for my portfolio! By Mark Charnet

disagree with the apocalypticteaching, we invite you

    to tune in to Redeemer

    Despite incredible ad-

    vances in dentistry

    over the past 30

    years, dentists face a new

challenge to their success inmanaging and treating your

    bacteria-related oral health

    problems: Stress! Doctors

consider stress to be a cause

(or at least factor) of not

    only cardiovascular, autoim-

    mune and mental diseases,

    but also dental issues. While

    stress-related dental prob-

    lems were known to ancient

    societies thousands of years

ago, recent upturns in stresslevels are making these oral

    health issues much more

    common. Stress may affect

    dental health in different

    ways:

    IMMUNITY: Stress can

    reduce the bodys immunity

    to disease by changing the

    production of the normal

    inner steroid from the

suprarenal glands. This pro-duces a malfunction in our

cells. They are unable to oust

    foreign bodies like bacteria

    when they invade the body.

    Since immune cells are the

    bodys first line of defense,

this is not good. As a result,

gingivitis and gum disease arelikely to develop among

    stressed individuals. Forms of

    tooth decay are also com-

    monly reported in stressed

    patients.

    GRINDING AND

    CLENCHING: Most grind-

ing and clenching occursduring sleep, so a large per-

    centage of grinders and

    clenchers dont even realize

    they are doing it. Grinding

    and clenching increase the

    frequency of contact between

    the upper and lower teeth,

especially at night. Whileupper and lower teeth are

    typically in contact 20-30

    minutes each day, those who

    clench and grind make

    upper-lower contact several

hours a day. While this habit,

    called buxism, may be

annoying, it may also lead to

    dental health issues such as:

    HEADACHES: Tenderness,

fatigue and spasm in the mus-

cles of the face and neck,

    which may result in head-

    aches.

TMJ: Damage to the tem-poromandibular joint in

front of the ear. TMJ may

    cause minor problems like

    clicking when opening and

    closing the mouth, or more

    severely, can prevent the

    lower jaw from functioning

    properly.

    DISTORTION: If clench-

    ing and grinding become

chronic, the cheek musclesmay enlarge or swell, which

    can result in facial distortion.

    TEETH FILING AND

    CAVITIES: Not only may

    grinding and clenching cause

    teeth to be filed down;

    smooth, V-shaped cavities

    may develop, resulting in

    tooth sensitivity.

FRACTURES: Damage tothe gums causes teeth to

    move more freely and ulti-

    mately can cause tooth frac-

    tures. Additionally, dental

    restorations like crowns and

bridges are at risk of fracture.

    How do you treat grind-

    ing and clenching? Depend-

ing on the severity of the

    case, Dr. Brusco may offer

    you options such as night-

mouth guards, muscle relax-ants, mouth rehabilitation,

    orthodontics, bite adjust-

    ment, muscle exercises and

    medications.

    Great movies for Valentines Day

    Couples celebrate Val-

    entines Day in a

    variety of ways.

Some may jet off to a roman-

    tic locale while others might

enjoy a night out on the

    town at a nearby restaurant.

    Some couples feel its more

    romantic to stay in for

    Valentines Day, preferring

    some quality time together as

they enjoy a good meal and a

    favorite film in the comforts

of home. Those who want a

    romantic movie to set the

    mood might want to consider

    the following options.

    Somewhere in Time

    (1980): Starring Christopher

    Reeve, this drama surrounds

    a Chicago playwright who

meets an old woman on the

opening night of one of his

    plays. The woman presses a

    gold pocket watch into his

    hand before begging the

    young playwright to return to

    her. Years later, the play-

wright is staying at a hotel

    and becomes taken with a

    young woman in a photo-

graph, only to learn that the

    young woman is the same

    mysterious older woman who

    visited on opening night all

    those years ago.

    West Side Story (1961):

    One of Hollywoods many

    tales of forbidden love, this

    classic won Best Picture after

    being adapted for the big

    screen. The score alone is

    enough for film aficionados,

but those who also want a

    story wont be disappointed

by this musical tale of two

    youngsters who fall in love

    despite being from rival New

    York City gangs.

    The Philadelphia Story

    (1940): Featuring screen leg-

    ends Cary Grant, Katharine

    Hepburn and James Stewart,

    the movie focuses on the

    complications that arise as a

    socialite prepares to marry.

    Cary Grant plays the ex-hus-

    Are you one of the

    many consumers who

    were advised to buy a

    hearing aide by your doctor,

    spouse, family member or

friend? Is it sitting in the very

    expensive case it came in,

    unused because it just doesnt

    work well? Maybe others

    should just speak louder! You

will find that you are not alone.

    There are many adults frustrat-

    ed with hearing changes and

    the limitations that it may

place on them. Dinners out at a

    popular restaurant or large fam-

ily events may not be as enjoy-

able if you have difficulty par-

    ticipating in the conversation.

    Adult aural rehabilitation

    services focus on adjusting to

    your specific hearing loss. Not

all hearing loss is the same and

    is sometimes mistaken for

    memory loss. An aural rehabil-

    itation program assists in mak-

ing the best use of your individ-

    ual hearing aids, exploring

    assistive devices and taking

    charge of your communication.

    It is important to understand

    your specific hearing loss. A

    better understanding of your

hearing loss will help you gain

new insights as to why you

    think people are mumbling,

    why you have difficulty with

    voices and background noise,

    and others specific questions.

Even if you don t have

hearing aids but have a hearing

    loss, aural rehabilitation servic-

es can give you strategies to

    improve listening and commu-

    nication effectiveness. If you do

    have new hearing aids, through

    training and practice, you will

    learn new listening habits

    and communication strategies.

    Audiologic rehabilitation pro-

    vides listening strategies that

    can improve communication.

You are not alone with a

    hearing loss. Aural rehab can

    give you the opportunity to

    learn from professionals effec-

    tive strategies on how to

    handle traveling, meetings,

    appointments, going to the

    hospital, telephone conversa-

    tions, hearing in theaters, and

    difficult family members or

    work associates. Aural rehabili-

tation will not sell you new

    hearing, but it will introduce

you to strategies and tips that

    can improve understanding

    and hearing in everyday life

    and benefit from an improved

    quality of life!

    Catherine Gallo is a

    speech and language patholo-

    Valentines Day is

    upon us. This is a

    day to celebrate our

loved ones and show them we

care. We also have to take

    care of our four-legged loved

    ones, as some Valentines Day

gifts and ideas may be haz-

    ardous to our pets.

    The most obvious warn-

ing is: Dont let your pets eat

    chocolate. Chocolate is one

    of the traditional gifts on

    Valentines Day but can be

    very dangerous to pets, even

    life threatening. The toxic

    compounds in chocolate

    are methylxanthines, mainly

    theobromine and, less impor-

    tantly, caffeine. The amounts

    of theobromine and caffeine

vary with the type of choco-

    late. For instance, unsweet-

    ened (Bakers) chocolate con-

tains 8 to 10 times the

    amount of theobromine as

milk chocolate. This is a very

    common toxicity in dogs and

seen less in cats just by nature

    of their eating habits.

    Clinical signs of choc-

    olate toxicity usually occur

    within six to 12 hours

    of ingestion. Theobromine

affects the body as a central

    nervous system stimulant,

    cardiovascular stimulant,

    increases blood pressure and

    nausea. Therefore, common

    signs of chocolate toxicity

    are: vomiting, diarrhea,

    hyperactivity, tremors, sei-

zures, fast heart rate and, in

    severe cases, death. If your

    pet ingests chocolate, contact

    your veterinarian or poison

    control immediately for treat-

    ment. Also, knowing the type

    and quantity of chocolate

    ingested is helpful.

    Another potential haz-

ard for pets on this sweet

    holiday is any sugar-free gum

    or candy. They commonly

    contain the sugar substitute

    xylitol. Signs of xylitol toxici-

ty can be seen as quickly as 30

    minutes and causes a sudden

drop in the bodys blood sugar

    (hypoglycemia). This may

    result in weakness, depres-

    sion, loss of coordination,

    seizures, coma and even liver

    failure. Treatment should be

    initiated immediately if inges-

    tion occurs.

    Some holiday flowers,

    though they are romantic,

can be toxic for your pet. The

    biggest culprits are lilies.

They are highly toxic to cats,

so make sure your cats cant

get near them, or choose a

    different variety of flower but

    not tulips (the bulbs are

    the most toxic). Amaryllis,

    daisies, chrysanthemums or

    any flowers with thorns may

    be potentially dangerous

    flowers.

    Leftover gift-

    wrapping or decora-

    tions are enticing

    for curious cats.

    Make sure all rib-

    bons, bows and

    other wrapping

    are out of your

    pets reach and

    cleaned up. Cats

    especially like

    chewing on strings or rib-

    bons which can cause chok-

    ing or worse, an obstruction

    in the intestines that could

    require emergency surgery.

    Candles are also a nice

    touch on Valentines Day

but not to paws and fur.

    Dont leave candles unat-

    tended, as pets can easily

    be burned or the candles

    could be knocked over, caus-

    ing a fire.

    One last warning is not

to give pets as gifts. Puppies

and kittens are very cute and

cuddly but owning a pet is a

    big undertaking. Purchasing a

pet should be done in a

    responsible way and only after

a lot of research. If youre

    ready, you should consider

adopting a pet from your local

    shelter. These steps can be

    done together and are roman-

    tic and rewarding.

    Have a sweet and safe

    Valentines Day!

    Conventional wisdom

    has long intimated

    that girls are more

    adept at language arts and

reading than boys of the same

    age. A recent study indicates

there may be some merit to

    the assumption that boys tend

to lag behind girls in reading.

In order to bolster interest in

    books and reading compre-

    hension, parents and educa-

tors can look to many success-

ful literary series that tend to

    draw the attention of boys.

    Boys and reading

    A 2010 study by the

    Center on Education Policy

    that looked at trends begin-

ning from 2002 to 2008 found

    boys have been lagging

    behind girls on standardized

reading tests in all 50 states.

    According to Jack Jennings,

    president of the Center on

    Education Policy, We found

no state in which boys did not

lag behind girls in reading at

    the elementary level, the mid-

dle school level and the high

    school level. So its pretty

clear: Boys are not doing as

    well as girls in reading.

    There are many theories

as to why boys seem to eschew

    reading for other things. Some

say that boys in general are

    always on the defensive, and

    reading which often calls

    to mind emotion and vulnera-

    bility is not something that

boys would like to admit to

    doing. Furthermore, schools

    heavily push classics full of

    fictional characters as the

    mainstay of literary curricula.

    However, research points out

    that boys tend to gravitate

    toward nonfiction. Others

argue that boys do not have

    enough male literary role

    models. The majority of adults

    involved in shaping boys

    interest in reading are women,

and boys might not view pick-

ing up a good book as a mascu-

    line activity.

    Another theory as to

    why girls perform better on

    standardized reading tests

    revolves around brain func-

tion. Girls brains tend to be

    more verbally oriented, which

    can make reading skills easier.

    Boys are more visually orient-

ed. It stands to reason that

    boys are more physically rest-

less than girls as well. Sitting

for long periods of time read-

    ing can be challenging, even

    for an otherwise well-behaved

    male student. This was discov-

ered as early as 1986 in an

    analysis of more than 100

    studies by psychologist

    Warren Eaton and his col-

    leagues at the University of

    Manitoba in Canada. The

    findings revealed that the

    average boy is more active

than about 69 percent of girls.

    Choosing reading materials

    Finding reading material

to which boys will relate can

    be challenging. There is no

    blanket approach to finding

    the right books. Boys may

    need to be approached indi-

    vidually to find subject matter

    that will interest them and

take them out of their comfort

    zones. Should schoolmates be

    view-ed reading frequently, it

    may help other boys surpass

    their own reading fears and

    hurdles.

Here are some titles boys can

    explore:

    2095 by Adam McCauley:

    Natural History travel one

    Gutman: Main character Joe

of Babe Ruth and his home

    run predictions.

    Room by Patricia Reilly Giff:

    helps Richard get serious

about reading and win a con-

    test for best class.

    the cases and explore adven-

    tures through the stories.

    father crashes.

Pros and cons to including an island in a kitchen redesign

    Homeowners planning

    a kitchen remodel are

    no doubt considering

    whether to include a kitchen

island in the new design. When

the space allows, an island can

be a fine way to enhance the

look of a kitchen and impart an

    upscale appeal.

    Interest in kitchen islands has

grown steadily for the past sev-

    eral decades. Introduced in the

    1970s, islands became a popu-

lar place for guests to congre-

    gate and provided extra count-

    er space for meal preparation

    and entertaining. The subur-

    ban migration led to bigger

    homes with larger kitchens.

    Through the 1980s and 1990s,

    homes grew even larger, and

    islands became a popular fea-

    ture of kitchens across the

    country.

    The increase in food-based

    programming on television has

    also contributed to the popular-

ity of kitchen islands. As more

    people dabble with preparing

    their own gourmet meals,

    kitchen islands have become

    more convenient.

    Although there are many

benefits to an island in the

    kitchen, there are also some

    disadvantages to kitchen

    islands. Weighing all the

    options can help homeowners

design a kitchen layout that is

    functional, affordable and prac-

tical for the space they have.

    PROS

    Arguably the most significant

    advantage to having a kitchen

island is the added space it pro-

    vides. Many times islands are

    built with cabinetry that

matches the rest of the kitchen

    design, and those cabinets pro-

vide storage space for pots, pans

    and other kitchen tools. Islands

    may double the storage space

    available in the kitchen.

    Kitchen islands are also

    advantageous when preparing

    meals. Kitchen counter space

can be easily gobbled up by

    toaster ovens, rotisserie cook-

    ers, microwaves, coffee makers,

    and various other countertop

    appliances. These appliances

can take up valuable real estate

    thats sorely missed when

    preparing meals. An island can

be used solely for cooking and

    preparation, and some home-

    owners have incorporated cut-

ting boards and a prep sink into

    the design of the island.

    Islands also can be cus-

    tomized according to a home-

    owners needs. Instead of sim-

    ply having cabinetry beneath

the counter, some opt to have a

wine cooler or even a bookshelf

    for keeping cookbooks within

    reach. An additional small

    dishwasher or beverage refriger-

ator may be tucked into the

design of the island. For others,

the island may be a makeshift

    What would Valen-tines Day be

    without choco-

    late? Candy and chocolate

    are often exchanged come

    Valentines Day. Though

    store-bought confections

    might be popular, such gifts

can easily be made at home

    as well.

    Chocolate satisfies a

    sweet tooth, and some

    researchers believe chocolate

    is an aphrodisiac. In the

    1980s, doctors at New York

    State Psychiatric Institute

    explored the possibility that

    chocolate could be an aphro-

    disiac. When someone is in

love, his or her brain pro-

    duces a chemical called

    phenyl ethylamine, or PEA,

which acts a lot like an

    amphetamine, triggering the

    hormones nor epinephrine

    and dopamine to create feel-

ings of euphoria. Consideringchocolate naturally contains

    PEA, there is reason to

    believe that chocolate could

    also trigger feelings of happi-

    ness and love. However,

    other chemicals might be

    behind these feelings of

    euphoria.

    Whether this is the case

    or not, chocolate will long

    remain a romantic gift, espe-

cially on Valentines Day.Dipped pastries, lollipops and

    chocolate-covered berries are

    savory treats that can be

install, and this is money a

    homeowner may be better off

    investing elsewhere.

In smaller kitchens, anisland may be impractical

    because of the space limitation.

Islands are typically at the heart

of the kitchen and may inter-

    fere with walking space or

    cause clearance issues when the

    refrigerator door or cabinet

    doors are open. For homeown-

ers who find space is at a premi-

um in the kitchen, an island

may not be the best idea.

    However, a rolling island that

    can be moved into position

when needed, then stored in a

convenient, out-of-the-waylocation might be a viable

    option.

    Depending on the com-

plexity of a kitchen island, its

    installation may extend the

    amount of time required to

    complete the kitchen renova-

    tion. This can prolong the

length of time needed to com-

plete the work. Running a gas

or electric line and plumbing to

the island may require a major

    overhaul and demolition.

    Kitchen islands are popu-

lar components of homedesigns. Before homeowners

    engage in any kitchen renova-

    tion that may include the

    incorporation of an island,

    they should know the advan-

    tages and disadvantages.

From the early 1990s tothe beginning of this cen-

    tury, bigger is better

certainly was the mantra of the

    home-building industry. All

    across North America buyers

    could browse among home

    developments boasting homes

of 3,000 square feet or larger

    and multiple bedrooms and

bathrooms. But according tonew data, home buyers are

    seeking less space today but

    more in green amenities.

    Research by the Canadian

    Home Builders Association

    has found that many people

    now desire smaller homes with

    multipurpose rooms and energy

    saving features. Theyre not

ready to trade in their two- andthree-car garages just yet,

    though. Plus, a survey of

    International Furnishings and

    Design Association members

    forecasts that McMansions will

become a thing of the past and

    more emphasis will be placed

    on smaller, more eco-friendly

    homes. Family rooms will grow

    larger, as will kitchens. Other

rooms in the home will disap-

pear, including the living room. Many homeowners and

    potential home buyers realize

that with girth comes a cost. In

    todays fragile economy, the

ability to cash in on the dream

    of homeownership may come

at the compromise of a smaller,

    better-planned home.

    According to Tim Bailey,

the manager of Avid Canada, a

    research and consulting firm for

the building industry, Whilemany consumers are willing to

forgo space, they are not equat-ing this with having to forfeit

    functionality. Design creativity

is requisite to adapt to this

    changing preference.

    Here are some things that

you will and will not find in

    newer homes moving forward.

    The dining room is becoming

    extinct, with larger, eat-in-

    kitchen/entertaining spaces the

norm. The kitchen will be the

main room of the home and berenamed the kitchen lounge.

    Separate rooms are evolving

into spaces that serve many dif-

    ferent purposes.

    Although the sizes of bath-

rooms may be scaled back, the

    amenities will not. Spa-style

    bathrooms with luxurious prod-

    ucts, high-tech features and tel-

evisions will be on the rise.

    The master bedroom suite

may not shrink in size, but itcould be combined to form a

home office and exercise space.Expect to see more high-tech

    offerings, such as voice- or

    motion-activation devices in

    the home. Lighting, entertain-

    ment gear, heating/cooling sys-

tems, and even blinds could be

hooked up to a master control

    system.

    Thanks to an increasing num-

    ber of people working from

home, the presence of a dedi-

cated home office is a given innewer homes. Nearly 40 per-

    cent of industry forecasters say

that they expect one in every

    home.

    Home storage solutions will

also be a vital component of

    new homes. Builders will create

    clever solutions for mixing stor-

    age into more compact spaces.

    With aging Baby Boomers

    comprising a larger segment of

home buyers, expect to seemore one-level homes, or at

least homes where there is amaster suite and the majority of

the living space on the first

    level.

    Part of what is driving

this trend is the cost of homes

in relation to space and the

    increased interest in environ-

    mental conservation. Smaller,

    more efficient homes require

less in terms of heating and

    cooling energy. They need less

furniture, and new materialsmade from sustainable prod-

    ucts help further fuel green

    initiatives in the building

    industry. Energy efficient

homes are a main priority for

    buyers. Although the homes

may be smaller, they will not

    be miniscule. And home buy-

ers can expect a host of

    amenities that will make the

    smaller size of homes barely

    perceptible.

    band of Hepburn, who must

deal with the simultaneousarrival of both Grant and

    Stewart, a journalist who

    arrives to get the scoop

    on her pending nuptials.

    Stewart earned an Oscar for

    his performance in the film,

    which is also credited for

    helping to revive Hepburns

career after a series of box

    office flops.

    Casablanca (1942):

    Perhaps no film is

more synonymous withromance than this classic

    starring Humphrey Bogart

    and Ingrid Bergman as for-

    mer lovers who reconnect

    one night in a pressure-

    packed African encounter

    during World War II. The

    two ex-lovers still harbor

    feelings for one another,

    though Bergmans Ilsa has

    moved on and married a

    resistance leader who

needs the help of BogartsRick to escape Nazi forces

hot on his trail. The film

    features many classic

    moments.

    The Princess Bride

fer a love story, as told

    through a fairy tale might

    want to consider this Rob

    Reiner-directed film star-

ring Cary Elwes as a farm boy

    who falls in love with

Buttercup, the beautifuldaughter of his employer. An

    ensemble cast that memorably

    includes Billy Crystal, Mandy

    Patinkin and pro wrestler

    Andre the Giant contributes

    to this hilarious classic that

    follows the farm boys heroic

efforts to be with the woman

    he loves.
