I’m going to spill out as much as I’ve learned in 15 years as I can. Hard lessons,
because I’ve made lots of mistakes. Then I’m going to invite you to join my
membership club, because I think that’s the best overall training I can give you,
aside from personal coaching. Just letting you know.
I was lucky with EllenFinkelstein.com – my topics (PowerPoint & AutoCAD) were very
specific. I didn’t realize at first how important that was when I started writing content for
ChangetheWorldMarketing.com. These are some of my top traffic generators. Do you see
how specific they are? This type of traffic will encourage people to subscribe to your email
list.
I’ve always shared usable content—I like to teach people information they can use. But
having opinions didn’t come so easily. Yet this is what draws people to you. It’s good to be a
little controversial. Find opportunities to express opinions that not everyone else is
expressing or at least express your thoughts with some strong emotions. That attracts
people, too.
Be careful about sharing everything you know for free. Specific content, especially technical
content, draws lots of freeloaders. I learned this the hard way with AutoCAD and
PowerPoint content. Always be making offers and drawing people through your funnel
It took me 5 years before I created my 1st product, in 2004 – an e-book. Products are the
key to passive income and keeping most of what you make. They also present you as a
thought leader & expert. Don’t be afraid to create your own products! Do it early.
After I wrote my 1st e-book, it took me a couple of years to write my second one. People
are interested in different things. Some of you might be interested in creating a great
website, others in growing your list, others in creating products and so on. So you need
products for different interests. This also allows you to always have something to
promote—you can’t just promote the same product over and over. It opens you up to more
affiliates marketing products for you – they won’t all be interested in the same products
either.

strong on conversions.
You need to make offers. If it makes you uncomfortable, just make one anyone and you’ll
get over it. You don’t have to be hypey or salesy. Explain why your product is valuable, what
benefits it will bring people. Believe in your products and that will shine through.
After a webinar, I say, “Did this information help you? Was it useful?” I ask for Aha
moments. Then I say, “Good. If you found this useful, you’re really going to like what I have
to offer you today.”

For lower cost products, you can be hands off, but to make serious money, you’ll need
higher-priced items, such as coaching or VIP days—something that’s $500 or more. To
make these sales, you need to speak to people one-on-one. I’ve seen people to webinars
and sell products that are $500 to $1000, but it’s hard – they were really selling hard. Offer
a 20-30 minute free consultation for people who are likely candidates for higher-priced
products – but don’t do it for everyone or you’ll waste a lot of time.

You can’t just try this and that and expect to succeed.
You need to know technology and specific techniques, like email marketing, social media,
webinars, creating products, partnering, copywriting and conversion, etc. The list is
endless. But in the end, you need to choose a strategy – and there are many – that has
been proven to work.

everyday occurrence, but you can’t reach enough people to make a living without partners.
You just can’t. Period. So always be reaching out to promote other people and to ask others
to promote you. You need an affiliate program.

You also need partners that help you with your work – a true equal partner or people to
outsource your work to.
–really, it’s a business tactic! This is similar to having opinions, but different, too. People
connect with you as a person. Let people see you via video. Share a little of your personal
life. This has been hard for me, since it isn’t my nature, but it’s effective

questions of, lots of support. It has a lot more to offer, thorough training and weekly
sessions – I’ve even given one of those, but the community itself is gold. Join a community!

–I’ll tell you why it took me 15 years to do that! I just got a coach last year – 2 in fact and
it’s made a world of difference. I spend my extra money on a full time VA and a part-time
marketing assistant and felt that I didn’t have the money for a coach as well. But all
coaches have their own coaches-really. Whether you’re a coach or not, you should find
someone who will help you avoid going in the wrong direction and help direct you in the
right direction that can bring you success. It’s definitely worth while. I’ve learned so much
about creating sales pages, making offers, and more, just in the last few months from my
coaches. A business coach is more like a sports coach than a life coach. Expect specific
instructions and directions rather than open-ended questions.

Find a way to deal with stress and inner negativity. I do Transcendental Meditation and
recommend it highly. You can find more at tm.org. Whatever you choose, use it regularly,
because it will make a big difference to your success.
