After a wonderful warm summer, the Library Ministry welcomes

our St. Mary’s community back with some great resources

complementing the many events over the coming weeks, such as

the September’s Night of Worship & Ministry on “A Catholic

Understanding of the Ministry of Healing”. This also aligns to the

Pope’s prayer intention this month: care for God’s creation.

Dear Sisters, are you feeling

disconnected? Struggling in your faith or

vocation? Need support? OR is it on

your heart to refresh the hearts of your

sisters? You are most welcome to

attend an evening of women’s

fellowship and sharing on Thursday,

September 19th in the St. Catherine’s

Room, from 7:30—9:00 PM. For more

info, contact Tracey McAskill at

[email protected].

The floors in the hall, hallways, downstairs washrooms and St.

Catherine’s room have just been freshly waxed. They’re clean

and shiny! Please be respectful of the hard work that has been

put in and be careful to not drag tables, sofas, or chairs on the

new floors. Thank you!

Our council will be having our first Business

Meeting in the parish hall on Wednesday, Sept.

18th at 7 pm. All our members are welcome to

come and share their input and ideas. We will be

presenting our budget and possible plans for the

year ahead.

After the meeting, around 8:15 pm, we will be having a time of

fellowship and recreation for the men of the parish. All men are

welcome. There will be cards, board games and

refreshments.

For more info contact Gary Mellor, Grand Knight, at 613-526-

Ottawa will be participating in the Fall 2019 international 40

Days for Life Campaign from Wednesday, Sept. 25th to Sunday,

Nov. 3rd. Our parish 40 Days vigil date is Sat., Oct. 26th, 7

am—7 pm. Details to follow.

For returning envelope users: if you have recently returned

to St. Mary’s and are using old Sunday Offering envelopes,

please be sure to add your name and contact information to the

envelope. This ensure that your donations get attributed to you.

For new envelope users: if you would like envelopes, there

are a few boxes of unassigned envelopes on the ledge behind

the back pew. Feel free to take a box! Be sure to add your

contact information to the envelope the first time you use them

so that we can assign you that number and attribute your

donation to you.

Please be advised that anyone contacting you by email or text

message claiming to be Fr. Mark, Fr. Ken or any other Ottawa

priest in financial distress is a scam. These scams generally ask

for money, gift cards or other financial favours. Fr. Mark and

Fr. Ken will not elicit favours from you this way.

If you receive an email or text from someone claiming to be

clergy in distress, exercise caution. Please mark it as spam and

report the message to your email or cell phone provider. Direct

the person claiming to be a priest to contact Pastoral Services

at the Archdiocese of Ottawa.
