DAILY REFLECTIONS FROM FR. JOHN TORRANCESUNDAY Scripture “And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! Psalm 66:1-2Reflection It’s a simple message, but one that at times to keep in mind. How can we assure ourselves that God is always with us?Prayer.Lord, you are always with us, even if we cannot see you. Help us know that you are with us, even when we cannot see. Amen.MONDAY ScriptureFather of orphans and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation. God gives the desolate a home to live in; he leads prisoners to prosperity.ReflectionGod works wonders, with special attention to those who are in greater need. God works through us, calls us to lend aid to those in need. Who is in need in your midst?PrayerLord Jesus, we thank you for your love, especially for the poor. Give us grateful hearts that we may be messengers of peace. Amen.

And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.ReflectionHow well do you know God the Father and Jesus Christ? Coming to know is a lifelong process. We are never too old to learn. Take time to read part of the gospel, seeing if there is something new to learn.PrayerLord, open our minds so that we may continue to learn and grow in our love for you. Amen.WEDNESDAY ScriptureI am not asking you to take them out of the world, but I ask you to protect them from the evil one.ReflectionWe are constantly surrounded by God’s love. It is God’s will that we should be kept from harm. Where have you felt God’s protective love?PrayerLord, protect us always from anything that will separate us from you. Amen.THURSDAY ScriptureMay all be one as you, Father, are in me, and I in you; let the world believe that you sent me.ReflectionIt is difficult to feel connected during this pandemic. We are still united, maybe not in body, but in spirit. How can you feel more connected?PrayerLord, in you, we are one, we are united to you and to one another. Deepen that bond. Amen.FRIDAY ScriptureWhen they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” John 21:15ReflectionJesus asked Peter three times, “do you love me”. Of course Peter said yes. There are many ways to express love, for family, friends, strangers. Amen.SATURDAY ScriptureThe Lord says: I will send you the Spirit of truth who will lead you in the whole truth.ReflectionWhat is truth? It may seem a simple question but it isn’t. "As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." - Isaiah 55:10-11Welcome to all who desire to deepen your relationship with God. Brendan McManus SJ and Jim Deeds have written a 14 day ‘Isolation’ retreat specifically for Sacred Space during this Coronavirus crisis. Using meditations from their two books, Finding God in the Mess and Deeper into the Mess, they have shaped a 14 day retreat around themes loosely based on the Spiritual Exercises of

St Ignatius. Each day has a specific theme, a preparatory prayer, an introduction to the themes, three related scripture quotes, some questions for reflection and a closing prayer.People can use this resource in a number of ways:• follow the program for the 14 days;• dip into the themes that speak to you, for example the meditation on fear;• or use the meditations as daily prayer. It can be used in any of these ways to get reassurance that God is with you during this difficult time, to deepen your prayer life or to provide a safe space away from worry and anxiety.https://www.sacredspace.ie/covid-19-isolation-retreat

It may take up to 48 hours so please do not wait until you have little food left.  We are currently using the same volunteers as before. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate new volunteers at this time as training would prove to be too risky. The person will be contacted by phone before the visitors leave: so the recipient must be home. Food deliveries will only be brought to the person’s door. Volunteers will not enter.  The recipient must arrange to take the items in.  Volunteers will be waiting from inside their car and will call the person when the food is delivered. The volunteer will wait in their car until the food has been picked up and brought in before leaving. Visitors will NOT be going to the store to pick up any items.  Donations of food, and monetary gifts are welcomed so call and leave a message so arrangement can be made. Meals on Wheels Services are still being offered. However, contact between the drivers and clientele is very limited. The Meals on Wheels is a non-profit organization who provide home support for people who have lost their autonomy. The Assistance and Referral Centre (ARC) is launching its first membership campaign. This is an opportunity to have your voice heard and be a participant in determining the direction of our organization. The difference between a membership-based nonprofit and a non-membership-based nonprofit is:       In a membership based nonprofit organization, non-board members who become members can voice their opinion on management issues, performance and the operation of the nonprofit.         In a non-membership based nonprofit, outside supporters are not involved in the process and board members make all the decisions regarding the management of the organization. There are important battles to fight—diseases to cure, hungry children and families to feed, open spaces to protect, and much more. But it takes more than passion for a cause for an organization to be an effective nonprofit leader and win battles. It takes tools, resources, and expertise. Here is a chance to share your knowledge and be involved.Show Your SupportBecome a member of ARC by supporting the efforts of the Networking and Partnership Initiative. With your help and involvement, we can grow access to health and social services in the English language in the Montérégie-Centre, by allowing ARC to collaborate with various partners. Your membership will help sustain community initiatives and maintain access to health and social services in English, especially for those who experience difficulties expressing themselves in French.Benefits of membership?·         The yearly $10 membership will give you the right to vote at our Annual General Meeting (AGM), elect the Board of Directors, and even consider sitting on the Board.  ·         An opportunity to have your opinion heard and counted, thereby a hand in determining the direction of our organization.·         Either free access or a discount to all programs, activities and services offered by ARC.·         Above all, it will give you a chance to be a part of this growing organization.Simply complete the form below and return it by mail with your payment.

Thank you for your continued support.
