Come and join us, and learn how to pray with scripture in the way of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. During this time when many of us are confined to our homes, Montreal Directed Retreats(MDR) supported by the English-Speaking Catholic Council (ESCC) will be offering daily online sessions beginning Monday, May 11 at 10:30. The sessions will be free and accessible to all through Zoom.Each session will include a short teaching on the Ignatian method of prayer, listening to a Scripture reading and entering into the experience. Following a quiet time, there will be opportunity for sharing (optional). Guided Retreats June 29 to July 7, 2020 or July 10-17, 2020. Facilitated by the Villa Saint Martin Team. Cost: 25$/Day. To register, write [email protected] can make a 3-Day, 5-Day, or 8-Day retreat, depending on your availability and needs. When registering, please choose a timeframe for desired length between June 29-July 7 or between July 10-17. We will put you in touch with a person who will be able to accompany you as your guide during this period.These virtual retreats are guided by the dynamics of the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. Because they are “personally directed,” each retreat is different, with each retreatant following a unique path with the assistance of a personal spiritual guide. Each day of your retreat, you can have a meeting over Zoom or Skype with your spiritual guide. This meeting will assist you in preparing your prayer times, in arranging and creating space for silent reflection, and in discovering passages from the Bible and other sacred texts that can help you in prayer so that you can encounter anew the Lord who awaits you in this precise moment in your life. You can also learn how to review your prayer and your day so that you can become more mindful of howthe Spirit moves within you.

Cost: 3200$ (On-site, if available) / 900$ (Online)This summer, you can make the full month of Ignatian Spiritual Exercises (33 consecutive days) from the comfort of your own home! The Spiritual Exercises ground the spiritual formation of every Jesuit. For five centuries, countless people seeking a deeper encounter with God in their lives have found the Spiritual Exercises to be a foundational and life-changing experience. If you have already made a silent retreat or a retreat in daily life, perhaps you may benefit from the opportunity to walk with the Lord through the full Spiritual Exercises through our 33-day program. People who have already made a shorter retreat (or 18th/19th annotation exercises) can apply to participate in this experience, which require the participant’s full availability from June 28through July 31.Apply using the link below. Brendan McManus SJ and Jim Deeds have written a 14 day ‘Isolation’ retreat specifically for Sacred Space during this Coronavirus crisis. Using meditations from their two books, Finding God in the Mess and Deeper into the Mess, they have shaped a 14 day retreat around themes loosely based on the Spiritual Exercises of

The ECS Foodbank is in excellent shape right now thanks to so much generosity and it has enough food for the coming month but is running out of plastic bags to deliver food to the needy in our community.Please put any plastic bags you don’t need in the bin out under the porch at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 496 Birch (corner Green) in St. Lambert on Thursdays and Fridays between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for the next three weeks; May 21 & 22, May 28 & 29 as well as June 4 & 5.Your help will be very much appreciated.HOPE helps in Greenfield Park/Lemoyne/ Brossard/St-Hubert . Persons are to call 450-693-0262 and follow the instructions on the bilingual message. Calls and visits will be replied to from Monday to Friday but we do deliver on weekends. It may take up to 48 hours so please do not wait until you have little food left. We are currently using the same volunteers as before. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate new volunteers at this time as training would prove to be too risky.The person will be contacted by phone before the visitors leave: so the recipient must be home. Food deliveries will only be brought to the person’s door. Volunteers will not enter. The recipient must arrange to take the items in. Volunteers will be waiting from inside their car and will call the person when the food is delivered. The volunteer will wait in their car until the food has been picked up and brought in before leaving. Visitors will NOT be going to the store to pick up any items. Donations of food, and monetary gifts are welcomed so call and leave a message so arrangement can be made. Meals on Wheels Services are still being offered. However, contact between the drivers and clientele is very limited. The Meals on Wheels is a non-profit organization who provide home support for people who have lost their autonomy. Hot meals are home-delivered to participants by volunteers twice a week. In a non-membership based nonprofit, outside supporters are not involved in the process and board members make all the decisions regarding the management of the organization.There are important battles to fight—diseases to cure, hungry children and families to feed, open spaces to protect, and much more. But it takes more than passion for a cause for an organization to be an effective nonprofit leader and win battles. It takes tools, resources, and expertise.
