Student of the Week – JUNIOR assembly Monday, 30th July

eSmart Production—Whole School Incursion We had some exciting viewing last week with the Brainstorm Productions show of ‘Buddies’. Students had the opportunity to sit with their buddy during the show. They used their imagination and were engaged in themes around the importance of eSafety and friendship. Throughout the show, Lucy and Charlie faced real life problems, which they had to overcome and earn ‘Friendship Discs’ that restored the ring of friendship.

Book Club Orders for issue 5 are on by Wednesday, 1st August (midnight).

Please note that we only accept online orders through the Parent “LOOP”. Any questions please contact me (Tracy) at [email protected].

Not only does the Book Club offer you some great prices on books, activities and stationary but every time you buy, the school benefits too. And, out of these benefits the teachers are able to enhance their learning and literacy programs. For example:

The Level 4’s purchased a book set to share between the classes and some new pencil tubs.

The library has added some beautiful coloured cushions-see photos opposite. The Parents and Friends have purchased a variety of books to use to acknowledge literacy achievements by our students (coming soon).

Reminder that the Vision Portraits are being taken in the Hall this Sunday, 29th July. A big thank you to Bec who has coordinated this event.

Last week at OSHClub We celebrated our theme 'Taste of the holidays". The children who came to the holiday program had a chance to share with their OSH friends what activities they did on the holidays. They brought in their art work that they made in the

holidays and their baby photos for "once upon a time " day. Children suggested that we make/ re-do some of the activities we did at holiday program, like slime, painting, making recycled art and play big group games like hockey, soccer and skittle ball.

What's on this week at OSHClub ? This week is 'shark week' so bring in your life jackets and snorkeling equipment to OSHClub!!. At OSH we had a group catch up where the children suggested ideas about what activates they wanted to do and what themes they wanted to do in term 3, so we came up with ideas for clubs which they would like to run in term 3.

Parents From the start of next week, Foundation students will not be picked up from their classes or dropped to class so please ensure you are reminding your child of this when they are coming to OSH. We will still give the teachers a list of the children who are attending OSH so they can also remind the children. Please know that OSHC loves recycled materials. If you have a large amount of recyclables feel free to bring them in. (we can only accept clean, hygienic materials that have NOT been associated with any 'nuts' or 'eggs') Thank you!
