REMINDER-CURRICULUM DAY FRIDAY 10 AUGUST All staff will be aending a Curriculum Day on Friday 10 August -therefore the school will be closed. ARRIVING AT SCHOOL It is very important that our students arrive at school ready to start the day at 9.00am. Late arrivals are becoming more numerous with many students arriving between 9.05 and 9.30am. The educaon and wellbeing of students arriving late is being compromised and these students are disadvantaged in their learning. Please do not assume that important learning only begins aſter 9.30am. Children need to feel a sense of belonging within their class and need a few minutes to prepare for learning, sele in with their friends and classmates and prepare for the day. The first 15 minutes in the classroom each morning are crucial for seng the scene for the day. 2018 PARENT OPINION SURVEY WE WANT OUR PARENTS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK! is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of parents’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour and student engagement. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies. Approximately 30 per cent of parents will be invited to participate in this year’s survey. All responses to the survey are anonymous. This year the Parent Opinion Survey will be conducted from Monday 23rd July to Sunday 26th August.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 10-15 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in a range of languages other than English. These include: Arabic, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Chin (hakha), Hindi, Japanese, Somali, Turkish, Punjabi and Greek. The survey results will be reported back to the school at the end of September. The survey results will be communicated to parents through the annual report. Last year we used the survey results to inform and direct various elements of our future school planning and improvement. Please speak to your child’s teacher if you would like more information.

Term 3 has started off with a bang in our

Interschool Sports.

Week 1 saw our Football, Soccer and

Teeball teams successfully compete in the

Monash-Waverley Division Finals, taking out

the Football, Soccer and Girls Teeball

championships and progressing to the

Eastern Metropolitan Region Finals held in

August.

Week 2 saw the Girls Netball team also

competing at Division level, finishing 4th out

of 6 teams on the day which is a terrific

effort.

Well done and congratulations to

everyone who is a part of these teams,

everyone at the school is so proud!
