Dear Parents and Carers Thank you to everyone who joined us on Parents Evening last week. It was wonderful to see so many of you so keen to find out all about your child’s achievements this half term. It’s certainly been a very long one, all the children certainly deserve a break. I am delighted to let you all know that our attendance has increased slowly as the half term has progressed which is wonderful but quite unusual! We finish on 96.37%. This is the highest it has been for a number of years and shows us how much the children are loving their learning. I hope you enjoy a great ‘Halloween’ holiday and don’t forget to get your ‘Rock Star’ costumes ready for our TT Rock Stars day on Friday 9th November. 26th October 2018 Headteacher Update Friday Letter for Parents and Carers Debbie Cousins October 2018 29th– 2nd November Half term November 2018 9th TT Rock Stars Day 12th Lions Class Assembly 2.45pm 12-15th Anti-Bullying Week 15th Children In Need 16th Training Day 27th Wolves Class Assembly 2.45pm December 2018 14th Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day and Christmas Lunch 21st Break up for Christmas Any changes/additions will be marked in red Dates for your Diary Alligators Mr Willson our Maths Leader has been enjoying a special treat this week as he has been on a visit to Shanghai in China. Mr Willson our Maths Leader has been

enjoying a special treat this week as he has

been on a visit to Shanghai in China. He has

had the amazing opportunity of observing

teaching in China. We look forward to

hearing all about it on his return.

Over the last few weeks, Team Alligators and the rest of Key Stage One have been exploring a variety of Traditional Tales. We started off by looking at Hansel and Gretel. We went out on an adventure to the copse to experience what it was like to be surrounded

by woodland. We used this experience to build vocabulary to help us with our writing. After that, we started looking at Goldilocks and the Three Bears. As part of our creative curriculum, we tried different flavours of porridge and then designed our own new healthy snack for Goldilocks. We then went on to look at the 'True Story Of The Three Little Pigs'. We found out that the Big Bad Wolf isn't really bad at all!

To round off our half term, the children put on a fabulous class assembly telling the real story. All the staff were very proud of all the children and how hard they have worked.
