27° Domingo en Tiempo Ordinario 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time October 7th, 2018 My dear parish family, Pax Chris! Can you believe we are already in October? Geeze! Where does the me go? October is the month dedicated to Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary. I would challenge you all to pray the rosary every day during the month of October. The Rosary is the weapon for our mes and there are so many graces aached to this most beauful prayer. My dear friends, this weekend the readings remind us about that beauful first union that God put together since the beginning of creaon; namely, the amazing union between a husband a wife. God created that first perfect match in His image and likeness, and with that perfecon God said to them For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. Because of the sin they commied, that perfecon was broken and their relaonship changed. So, as much as you want your rela- onship with your partner to be perfect, I want to remind you that you are but two imperfect people trying to live a perfect life. Probably when you fell in love with your spouse you found in him or her to be that perfect person who made you so happy and special. I am sure, with the passing of me, you began to see that your partner was not as per- fect as you thought. Despite the idealized image of perfecon in marriage that many of us hold on to, the reality is that every mar- riage is made of two imperfect people. Since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God(Romans 3:23), the likelihood that sin (selfishness, for example) wont enter the home is more than remote. A marriage involv- ing two imperfect people can never be free of mistakes. But I think that s the beauty of it. All the bumps and wrinkles that couples encounter along the way can actually help them to sharpen each other and to grow as in- dividuals in their own relaonship and their relaonship with our beloved Jesus. In fact, the bumps are part of the adventure of marriage. Remember always that every couple has problems, but by the grace of God you shall be conquerors. May the Lord bless your family and your relaonships. Our St. Francis Award winner for 2018 is Mr. Michael Lysaght. Thank you, Michael, for your service to our parish! Michael was honored at the Annual St. Francis of Assisi Awards at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis in Santa Fe on Thursday, October 4, 2018! Please join me in congratulang Michael for this wonderful achievement. There is sll me to get me your personal intenons for my Holy Land trip! Deadline is Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018! That is all for now! Have a blessed week! In His Joy, Fr. Leon J. Vigil

My dear parish family,

Pax Christi! Can you believe we are already in October? Geeze! Where does the time go?

October is the month dedicated to Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary. I would challenge you

all to pray the rosary every day during the month of October. The Rosary is the weapon for

our times and there are so many graces attached to this most beautiful prayer.

My dear friends, this weekend the readings remind us about that beautiful first union that God put together

since the beginning of creation; namely, the amazing union between a husband a wife. God created that first

perfect match in His image and likeness, and with that perfection God said to them “For this reason a man shall

leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” Because of the sin

they committed, that perfection was broken and their relationship changed. So, as much as you want your rela-

tionship with your partner to be perfect, I want to remind you that you are but two imperfect people trying to

live a perfect life.

Probably when you fell in love with your spouse you found in him or her to be that perfect person who made

you so happy and special. I am sure, with the passing of time, you began to see that your partner was not as per-

fect as you thought.

Despite the idealized image of perfection in marriage that many of us hold on to, the reality is that every mar-

riage is made of two imperfect people. Since “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23),

the likelihood that sin (selfishness, for example) won’t enter the home is more than remote. A marriage involv-

ing two imperfect people can never be free of mistakes. But I think that’s the beauty of it. All the bumps and

wrinkles that couples encounter along the way can actually help them to sharpen each other and to grow as in-

dividuals in their own relationship and their relationship with our beloved Jesus. In fact, the bumps are part of

the adventure of marriage. Remember always that every couple has problems, but by the grace of God you shall

be conquerors. May the Lord bless your family and your relationships.

Our St. Francis Award winner for 2018 is Mr. Michael Lysaght. Thank you, Michael, for your service to our parish!

Michael was honored at the Annual St. Francis of Assisi Awards at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis in Santa Fe

on Thursday, October 4, 2018! Please join me in congratulating Michael for this wonderful achievement.

There is still time to get me your personal intentions for my Holy Land trip! Deadline is Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018!

That is all for now! Have a blessed week!

In His Joy,

Fr. Leon J. Vigil †
