About the National Youth Festival 2012 - 13Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi is an apex body of all Indian Universities. One of the wonderfulactivities of AIU is ‘‘Inter University Youth Festival’’ (UNIFEST). It has been organizing since last three decadesto develop National Integration and exchange of goodwills and cultural heritage of India among students of IndianUniversities. There are about 450 Indian Universities, which have been devided in to 5 zones, namely—(1) North Zone,(2) East Zone, (3) West Zone, (4) Central Zone and (5) South Zone. Students of all Indian Universities have beenparticipating in about 25 cultural events. First and Second merit prize holders of all these five Zonal Festivals areeligible to participate in the ‘‘Inter University National Youth Festival.’’AIU, has entrusted our Kalyani University for hosting the Inter University National Youth Festival 2012-13, which isscheduled to be held during February 05–09, 2013. We are going to host this National Youth Festival as‘‘VIVEKANANDA YUBA-MAHOTSAV’’ to commemmorate the 150th Birth Anniversity of Swami Vivekananda.

Our University :The University of Kalyani was established in 1960. We have completed Golden Jubilee (1960 – 2010) celebrationof our University with various of academic, cultural and social activities throughout the year 2009-10. The Universitycampus of over 400 acres is situated in the nicely decorated green town ‘Kalyani’, which was adjudged the first‘‘Nirmal Nagari’’ of India in 2008 and received National Urban Water award in 2009. Kalyani town is under thejurisdiction of Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority.This campus attracts everyone by its lush greenery, chirpinng birds, playing fields, tanks and mango, lichi trees. Thesprawling administrative building is situated in the center of the huge green campus. There are 32 Departments,nine well-furnished student hostels, Guest House, Medical Center, Gymnasium and Central Library within thecampus. You will enjoy the beauty of greenery with fresh air and beautiful environment.Our university has successfully completed five decades of commendable service to the development of highereducation, research and extension ; keeping in view the importance of rural economy, the needs of the day andaspiration of the youth in the region. It has four Faculty Councils; (i) Arts and Commerce; (ii) Education;(iii) Science; (iv) Engineering Technology and Management, having about 32 PG Departments. There are fiveExtension Centers and about 75 affiliated colleges and institutes under the academic guidance and leadership ofour University.

Medical Facility :University has its own Medical Center within the campus. University Medical Center will remain open from 8 amto 8 p.m. and local Govt. Hospitals too have been kept in alert. WBUHSC Medical College & JNM Hospital andESI Hospitals are situated within 1·5 k.m. from the University Campus.

Weather :Weather at Kalyani during February is cold and temperature will ramain between 14ºC to 20ºC. As it is the winterall are advised to bring their winter clothings, light bedding with blankets & mosquito net.

How to arrive at University of Kalyani :Kalyani is a township built on about 36 sq. km. area at a site, believed to have been used as a base during the WorldWar II. Conceived by Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, the then Chief Minister of West Bengal, Kalyani township wasdeveloped as a satellite town to reduce the pressure of population upon Calcutta. It is located on the northern fringeof greater Kolkata Metropolitan Area, about 45 km. from Kolkata (Dum Dum) Netaji Subhas International Airport

and about 50 km. from the centre of the Kolkata city. Kalyani is well connected with Netaji Subhash InternationalAirport (Dum Dum), and with Kolkata by Railways and Road. University of Kalyani is situated in the central partof the Kalyani town. Any of the following mode of transport may be availed of to arrive at University Campus (visitwebsite).1) From Sealdah to Kalyani (50 km): There are regular local trains on an average once every thirty minute during 3.20 a.m.

and 22.00 p.m. Trains running in the UP direction (Kalyani Simanta Local, Krishnagar Local, Ranaghat Local, ShantipurLocal, Gede Local etc.) may be availed of for journey to Kalyani (1 hour 30 minutes duration). Most suitable will be Kalyani-Simanta Local . [Time table of local Trains is given below, Train fare @Rs.12]

2) From Howrah to Kalyani (57 km): From Howrah Station one might take taxi or bus to Sealdah Railway Station (7 km) andthen take any train for Kalyani Ghosh Para/Kalyani Station. (as mantioned in Sl-1)

3) From Bandel to Kalyani (about 25 km): People coming by trains along Burdwan-Bandel-Howrah line may get down atBandel Jn. Station and board a shuttle train to Naihati Station and then avail of any of the following trains to Kalyani, (asmentioned in Sl-I)

4) From Netaji Subhas (Dum Dum) Airport (45 Km) : You may travel by bus/ taxi from Airport to Sealdah Railway Station orDum Dum Railway Stn./ Bidhan Nagar Railway Stn and then catch a train to Kalyani, or travel by hire pre-paid taxi toKalyani University directly. (Rate around @Rs. 700 to @Rs. 900 per Taxi.)

5) To reach Kalyani University campus, one may get off at Kalyani Ghoshpara Station in case travelling by Kalyani Simantalocal Train and just walk for about 100 ft. If you get down at Kalyani Main Station, then you may also take a auto rickshawfrom Kalyani Main Station for the campus (@Rs. 10/- per head). In case, coming by bus from Kalyani Main Station, onemay get down at ITI point and then come by a rickshaw to the University or walk in.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

1. PARTICIPATION: First and Second merit prize holders of each of five (East, West, North, South and Central) Zonal YouthFestivals are eligible to participatie in the Inter University National Youth Festival 2012 – 13. They are requested to sendtheir entries as early as possible but not later than January 10, 2013, or within 7 days from the last date of Zonal Festival tothe Organizing Secretary, National Youth Festival, University of Kalyani.

2. IDENTITY CARD / ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATES / RESUME FORMS : The students must carry their Photo Identity Cardissued by their respective University / College and Date of Birth Certificate (attested copy). The Team Managers have tosubmit valid Identity Cards and DOB certificate of the participants for verification at the time of Registration.i) The Eligibility Certificates, signed by the Director / Dean / Principal of the Institute / College and countersigned by the Dean

of Students’ Welfare/ Cultural Coordinator / Registrar is a must and should tally with the above documents.ii) The age of the participants should not be more than 25 years as on July 01, 2012.

3. CONTINGENT LEADER & SIZE : The maximum 40 members, including participants, accompanists and Team Managers(maximum two team managers for more than 20 participants) are entitled to attend. Contingent in Charge.It is advisable to has Lady Team Manager, in case there are female participants. [Extra members will not be allowed withinthe campus for security reason.]

4. REGISTRATION FEES : Registration Fees @ Rs.300/- per person will be charged from the participants, accompanists andTeam Managers. The Registration fees will be sent by the participating Universities directly to Organizing Secretary, NationalUNIFEST, University of Kalyani positively within 10th January 2013. in the form of DD or Bank Pay Order, in favour of‘‘University of Kalyani’’, payable at Kalyani Late fees @Rs. 100/- to be paid.

5. CAUTION MONEY : An amount of Rs.1000/- (refundable) caution money has to be deposited by each team at the RegistrationDesk on arrival. Cost of any loss of stores / damage to property, materials issued but not returned can be deducted out of it.Extra money to be charged, if the offence is serious.

6. BOARD & LODGING : Board and lodging arrangement will be made available for the only registered participants. Unfurnishedrooms with “dories” (without cot) will be provided to the participants and Accompanists. The temperature in the month ofFebruary will be about 14ºC – 20ºC. Participants are requested to bring light bedding, blanket, mosquito net, winter clothing etc.

• It is planned to provide a package deal for bedding @Rs.100/- per participant for five days (including blankets) will bechanged extra. The participating Universities are requested to send advance information as to how many persons are going toavail of the extra bedding facility in the Team Registration Form (No. – I).• Team Managers will be housed in semi furnished students hostel rooms and /or guests houses. Since there is limitedaccommodation in the guest houses, priority will be given to Judges, invited Guests and AIU Officials.

7. FOOD: Food shall be provided from the morning of February 04, 2013 till the breakfast time on February 10, 2013 at our FoodVillage only. Food or breakfast can be arranged on payment basis, before and / or after the above noted dates but advance

information have to be given before arrival to Refresment-in-charge.8. PHOTOGRAPH: Two copies of passport size photographs of each participant to be submitted, out of which two copies for

identity card.9. Appellate Fees: @Rs 1000/- per complaint, against each event will be paid with the application. Decession of the Appellate

Committee is final and bindings on all.10. FLAGS & BANNERS: The Team managers should bring two Flags, Posters / Banners of their respective University and

deposit one Flag at the time of Registration and keep Banner, Posters and one flag with them for Culture Procession (Rally)only.

11. DISCIPLINE & DISCIPLINARY ACTION: Please note that any indecent behaviour and or indiscipline on the part of theparticipants which are not expected from a student, accompanist or which are prohibited in the University campus will lead todisciplinary action. The team can be debarred from participating in the event(s)/ festival. ELIGIBILITY RULES

1. Only bonafide, full time student, who is enrolled for a degree or a post graduate degree or diploma course which is of a minimumduration of one academic year and whose examination is conducted by the University subsequent to passing the 12th classexamination.

1.1. Students of UGC recognized Open Universities shall be considered to be bonafide students and shall be eligible to participateprovided they have to fulfill other conditions. However, students enrolled in correspondence distance course in Institutes /Centres of Universities, casual students, external students and students pursuing bridge course shall not be eligible.

2. All students for participating in the Inter University Youth Cultural Activities shall fulfill the following conditions:

a) Not more than 7 years have elapsed since a student passed the examination qualifying him/her for first admission to a degreeor diploma course of a University or college affiliated to a University. i.e. HS Examination.

b) Only students who are less than 25 years of age as on 1st July of the academic year 2012 in which activity is held canparticipate.

c) Further, students can participate for one year more than the normal length of the academic programmes which he / she isfollowing.

3. A student employed any where on full time basis shall not be eligible to participate.

4. A student shall not be allowed to represent more than one University during a single academic year.

5. Provisional admission to a course of a University or college shall not make the student eligible to represent the University in theInter University Youth Cultural Activities.

6. In case of a student is migrating from one University to another his / her migration case will be considered eligible only afterhis / her admission in the new University is regularized and he/she is admitted as a bonafide student by the newUniversity.

B. Explanation :i) For the purpose of computing years of eligibility one year will mean the academic year in which the cultural activity

is held irrespective of whether the student’s result is declared or not. It will normally be extended from June / July ofone year to 12 calendar months to the next year.

ii) The restriction of participation in Inter University Youth Cultural Activities to a period of one year more than thelength/ duration of academic course means that the students pursuing a three year degree programme ( i.e B.A, B.Sc.,B.Com., etc.) can participate for forth year, while a student pursuing four year programme ( i.e B.E., B.Tech. etc.) canparticipate for fifth year.

7. Disqualification for violation of Eligibility Rules:i) Any disqualification of a participant on ground of ineligibility will result in the automatic scratching of the contingent

for that academic year. The contingent shall also be debarred from participating in the Youth Cultural activities to beheld in the following years.

ii) A Participant disqualified on the grounds of ineligibility shall not be permitted to participate in Inter University YouthCultural Activities in the next year.

8. Strength of Contingent: Maximum 40 per University:Note: Accompanists would preferably be students, who will be given participation certificates. However, outsiders may beallowed if suitable students are not available but no Certificate will be given to them. At the most 8 outsider accompanistsare allowed, who will be included in the contingent of 40. A student, who has participated in Solo events of the AIUNational Youth Festival for three years, would not be permitted to participate in the UNIFESTS. Participating Universitiesare requested not to bring any extra person other than participants / accompanists. No extra person shall be entertainedat any cost.

9. Contingent In-charge / Team Manager : Participating University shall send maximum two persons as Contingent In-charge/Team Managers, who will maintain a liaison with the Organizing Committee of the host University. Lady Team Manager isessential for girl participants. Officials will be included in the contingent of 40.

10. Identity Card and Birth Certificate : Original Identity Cards with photographs and attested copies of Birth Certificates, signedby the appropriate authorities of the respective University should be carried by the participants.

11. University Flags & Trophies : The contingent leader shall have to deposit his/her one University flag with the host University.Last year’s winner and runner shall bring the trophies with them and deposit to the Organizing Secretary.

12. Traveling Expenses : The participating University will have to bear the traveling expenses. University may avail of Railwayconcession from, if they desire, as festivals, are a part of the National Integration Camp scheme.

13. Preception : It is adviced that sufficient warm bedding, blankets, woolen clothes, medicines and locks etc. should be broughtby the contingent. The participants and officials are advised to get inoculated against cholera and typhoid.

14. Discipline:

i. If the behavior of any contingent is found contrary to the objectives of the festival the host University may take suitableaction against members concerned and an individual / team be debarred from participation in the present and future youthfestivals for three years under intimation to AIU.

ii. As far as possible, students shall be involved in organization and management of the festivals.iii. No participant, official or any member of the University shall go to press on any controversial issue. The consumption of

liquor, smoking, Eve Teasing, influencing the adjudicators, indecent behavior inside the campus and venue is strictlyprohibited. Those violating this clause shall be liable to disciplinary action which may be to the extent of debarring theconcerned University Team from participating in the Inter University Youth Activities for a period as may be determinedby the AIU Cultural Committee.

15. Cultural Events: In order to have creativity, the Cultural Contingents are requested to present new Cultural items and not torepeat the same, which they presented in the preceding year.

16. Stamp Size Photos: Two stamp size photographs of each participant, accompanists and official delegates are required to be sentto the host University in advance.

17. Registration Fee: Each participant, including team officials, will be required to deposit Registration Fee of Rs.300/- (threehundred) to the Organizing Secretary, University of Kalyani by January 10, 2013.

18. Please note that:

i. A Cultural Procession/Marchpast of participating Universities shall be organized on inaugural day before the formalinaugural ceremony. (See Programme Schedule)

ii. Participating Universities are also adviced to bring their Local/Regional costumes for the purpose of reflecting theirculture in Cultural Procession/Marchpast Ceremony.

iii. Participating Teams are also required to bring flags/banners/placards of their University. Please bring Poster on‘‘SWAMI VIVEKANANDA’’.

iv. Participating Universities are informed that the use of fireworks/ arms is strictly prohibited. However, if it is unavoidablefor cultural performance, their imitation may be used with the prior permission of the organizing committee.

v. Recorded music / audio cassettes are not permitted during the Folk/ Tribal, Dance and Classical Dance and MusicalEvents.

1. MUSIC :(a) Classical Vocal Solo: (Hindustani / Karnatk)

1. Only one entry per Institution is allowed.2. Duration of performance- 15 minutes (for National Festival 12-15 minute). Time for stage/ Instruments setting is maximum

5 minutes.3. Maximum number of accompanists is two.4. Item can be presented either in Hindustani or Karnatka style.5. Cinema songs are not allowed under this item.6. Sufficient thought and care must be exercised in the choice of Raga and composition.7. Judgment will be based on the qualities like, tal, selection of raga, composition and general impression.

(b) Classical Instrumental Solo ( Percussion – Tal Vadya)

1. Only one entry per Institution is allowed.2. Duration of performance- 15 min. (for National Festival 12-15 minute). Time for stage/ Instruments setting is maximum 5

minutes.3. Maximum number of accompanists is two.4. Participants must bring their own instruments.5. Item can be presented either in Hindustani or Karnatk style.6. Judgment will be based on the qualities like, taal, selection of raga, composition and general impression.

(c) Classical Instrumental Solo ( Non- Percussion – Swar Vadya)

1. Only one entry per Institution is allowed.2. Duration of performance- 15 minutes. (for National Festival 12-15 minute). Time for stage/ Instruments setting is maximum

5 minutes.3. Maximum number of accompanists is two.4. Participants must bring their own instruments, Casio will not be allowed.5. Instruments of western origin adopted to the India Raga system are allowed.6. Item can be presented either in Hindustani or Karnatk style.7. Judgment will be based on the qualities like, swara, tal, selection of raga, composition and general impression.

(d) Light Vocal (Indian)

1. Only one entry per Institution is allowed.2. Duration of the song shall be between 4 to 6 minutes. Time for Stage/ Instruments setting is maximum 2 minutes.3. The number of accompanists would not be more than two.4. Only non-film songs/ geet/ ghazal/ bhajan/ shabad and abhangas can be presented.

5. Judgment will be made on the qualities like swara, taal, selection of raga, composition and general impression.

(e) Western Vocal Solo:1. Only one entry per Institution is allowed.2. Duration of the song shall be between 4 to 6 minutes. Time for Stage/ Instruments setting is maximum 2 minutes.3. The number of accompanists would not be more than two.4. Language of the song shall only be English.5. Judgment will be made on the qualities of, composition rhythm, coordination and general impression.

(f) Group Song (Indian):1. Only one entry per Institution is allowed.2. Maximum time allowed for the group song is 8 to 10 minutes which does not include setting time. The setting time for a

group shall not exceed 4 minutes.3. A team has to present two songs, one patriotic and another will be a folk song.4. Maximum 6 singers in a group and number of accompanists playing instruments shall be three.5. The group songs should be taken from Indian songs which can be in regional language.6. No film song should be presented as group song.7. Judging of this items will be on the basis of quality of singing only and not on make-up, costumes and actions of the team.

(g) Group Songs (Western):1. Only one entry per Institution is allowed.2. Maximum time allowed for the group song is 8 to 10 minutes which does not include setting time. The setting time for a

group shall not exceed 5 minutes.3. Maximum 6 singers in a group maximum number of accompanists playing instruments shall be three.4. The group songs should be taken from English language. (Non-film song)5. Judging of this items will be on the basis of quality of singing only and not on make-up, costumes and actions of the team.

(h) Folk Orchestra:1. Each University can send only one team.2. The Duration of the performance will be a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 10 minutes. This does not include setting time

which shall not be more than 5 minutes.3. The team shall consist of up to 12 participants.4. The group can consist of all boys or all girls or combined.5. Up to three professional accompanists are allowed who should be in different dress from the student participants so that

they could be easily identified.6. The professional accompanists shall sit / stand separately from the participants and shall not lead the team. The team may

present preferably those folk tunes which are recognized as folk tunes of the state to which the university belongs.

2. DANCE :(a) Folk / Tribal Dance

1. Only one entry per Institution is allowed.2. Duration of dance should not be more than 8 to 10 minutes. Time for sets/ Instruments setting is maximum 5 minutes.3. Maximum 10 participants are allowed per team. The team may consist of all boys, all girls or a mixture of both.4. The number of accompanists permissible is five.5. The dance can be either primitive or a folk dance ( Indian Style) but not a classical one.6. Three copies of a brief note giving the theme and the text of song if any, is to be submitted along with the entry form at

the time of registration.7. The participating team will be responsible for removal of their sets / properties etc. immediately after the completion of

their performance.8. Judgment will be based on the basis of Rhythm, Formation, Expression, Costumes, Make-up, Sets on Overall Effect.

(b) Classical Dance (Indian)1. Each Institute can send only one entry.2. Participant will be allowed 12 to 15 minutes. Maximum three accompanists are permissible.3. The classical dance can be from any of the approved schools of dance. Such as Kathak, Kathakali, Bharat Natyam,

Manipuri, Kuchipudi, Mohinittam, Odissi etc. For setting/preparation 5 minutes may be allowed.4. Judgment will be based on the qualities like Tal, Technique, Rhythm, Abhinaya or Expression, Costumes, Footwork

and general impression etc.

5. Three copies of a brief note on the description of dance story involved in it, if any, and of the accompanying song, withits meaning in Hindi or English must be submitted at the time of registration.

3. LITERARY EVENTS:(a) Quiz :

1. Each Institute can send a team of three students.

2. There may be a written preliminary round and teams will be selected for the final.

3. Finals will be oral with audio- visual questions.

4. The Specific rules regarding evaluation procedure, time to reply to a particular question and the type of round will begiven before the actual start of the competition by the Quiz Master.

(b) Elocution:1. Each Institute will be represented by one speaker2. Medium of expression will be Hindi or English. (Hindi or English)3. Each speaker will be allowed to speak for maximum five minutes in the Zonal Festival and 10 minutes in the National

Festival.4. Subject / Topic of Elocution will be announced in the managers meeting.5. The performance will be judged in one language.6. The sequence of speakers will be decided by a draw of lots in the managers meeting.

(c) Debate:1. Each Institute will be represented by two debaters, one will speak ‘FOR’, while the other will speak ‘AGAINST’ the

motion. Paper reading is not allowed.2. Medium of expression will be Hindi or English.3. Topic of Debater will be announced 24 hours in advance. (prefurably in the Managers meeting)4. Each debater will be allowed to speak for maximum five minutes in the Zonal Festival and 10 minutes in the National

Festival.

4. THEATRE EVENTS:(a) One Act Play :

1. Only one entry shall be accepted from each Institution.2. The duration of the play should be between 25 to 30 minutes.3. Time will be counted as soon as the signal is given or the team starts giving introduction, whichever is earlier. For stage

setting and removal of set and properties, up to 10 minutes (total) will be given after taking charge of the stage.4. The number of participants should not exceed nine and the maximum number of accompanists should not exceed three.

The participating team shall bring their own set/ stage property, make up material etc. Light, Sound and general propertysuch as ordinary furniture may be provided on advance intimation.

5. Participants may speak in Hindi, English or any regional language of India. In case the language is a regional one, fivecopies of synopsis of the play with translation in, English or Hindi must be submitted to the In-charge of the competitionon the day of registration and to the venue-in-charge also.

6. The participating team must report to the Venue-In-charge of the competition at least 30 minutes before the schedule timefor presentation of the play.

7. Judgment will be based on the qualities of the play like theme, work on acting, stage craft, design and general impressionetc.

8. Decision of the panel of judges will be final and binding upon all.9. Accompanists will either speak from the background or will play upon musical Instruments for background music.

They shall not appear on the stage.

(b) Skit:1. Only one team per institute will be allowed.2. Maximum number of six participants are allowed to participate in this item. 3 accompanists, may provide back ground

music only.

3. Time allotted for each team is between 8 to 10 minutes for stage setting and remove 9 to 8 minutes be allowed.4. Use of make-up, drapery and background music is allowed. No personal remarks, aspersions, character assassination etc.

Duration of performance shall be maximum of 5 minutes.4. Judgment will most likely be based on the qualities like idea, creativity of presentation, use of make-up, music and general

impression.

(d) Mimicry:1. Each student artist shall be given 5 minutes for this item both in the Zonal and Inter Zonal Festivals.2. Participants may mimic sound of machines and speeches of well known persons etc. including film personalities.3. Only one entry. per institution will be allowed.4. Marking will be based on: i. Skill of imitating, ii. Variety of sound and voices imitated, iii. Presentation.

5. FINE ARTS EVENTS :(a) On the Spot Painting:

1. Each Institute will be represented by one participant.2. Item will be conducted on the spot and participants will be requested to do painting on the subject given by the

In charge (s) of the competition.3. Duration will not be more than 2 hours 30 minutes.4. Size of the painting will be half imperial size drawing paper, i.e. 22 inches X 15 inches.5. Painting can be done in oil, water, poster or pastel colours.6. Candidate shall bring their own material like brushes, paints etc. Only the paper/ sheet will be provided by the host

institute.

(b) Collage:

1. Each Institute will be represented by one participant.2. Item will be conducted on the spot on the given topic / subject, sheet size 22” × 15”.3. Duration will not be more than 2 hours 30 minutes.4. Participants shall bring their own scissors, pasting and other material required for the contest.5. Collage has to be prepared from old magazines. The host University will provide the drawing paper of the size 22” X 15”.

(c) Poster Making:1. Each Institute will be represented by one participant.2. Item will be conducted on the spot and the participants will be requested to do poster making on the subject / topic / theme

given by the In- charge of the competition.3. Duration will not be more than 2 hours 30 minutes.4. Participants shall bring their own material. Only the Drawing paper/ Sheet 22” x 15” will be provided by the organizers.

(d) Clay Modeling:1. Each Institute will be represented by one participant.2. Item will be conducted on the spot.3. Duration will not be more than 2 hours 30 minutes.4. Topics/ size and other specific rules shall be announced on the spot.5. Clay shall be provided by the host institute.

(e) Cartooning:1. Each Institute will be represented by one participant.2. Item will be conducted on the spot on the given subject/ idea.3. Duration will not be more than 2 hours 30 minutes.

4. Participants shall bring their own material. Only the Drawing paper 22” x 15” will be provided by the host University.

(f) Rangoli:1. Each Institute will be represented by one participant.2. Duration will not be more than 2 hours 30 minutes.3. Participants shall bring their own material. This art is know differently in various regions such as Mandna, Alpana,

Alekhan, Kolam, Rangoli, etc. For this the medium and form for expression can be free hand, pictorial and descritive. Onlyone medium shall be used – Poster Colours or Flower Petals or Saw- dust or Pulses or Rice without pasting.

4. The Participants shall have to prepare a rangoli within the space provided by the organizers.

(g) Spot Photography:1. Each Institution can send one participant.2. The participant has to bring his/her own digital camera of not more than 12 mega pixels.3. The digital camera should have a black memory card which will be formatted by the judges before the commencement of

the contest.4. The time limit will be 2 hours 30 minutes.5. The participant has to capture 5 photographs on the theme announced on the spot by the judges6. No mixing, matching or morphing of photographs will be permitted.7. Softwares such as Photoshop etc. for enhancing images not permitted.8. The organizers will have all rights for the use these pictures as and when they deem fit.9. Digital images are evaluated on the basis of (I) IMPACT, (II) COMPOSITION, (III) TECHNICAL QUALITY, and

(IV) SUITABILITY for the specific theme.10. The additional instructions will be announced on the spot.

(h) Instalation :1. Each Institute will be represented by one team of maximum 4 participants.2. Duration will be not more than 2 hours.3. This items pertains to arrangement of unity in diversity of elements inspired by material arrangements for which particular

space will be provided.5. Participants shall bring their own material.6. The participants shall have to prepare Instalation within the space provided by the organizers.

IMPORTANT

� The participants are requested to study the rules and regulations for the various events given above.

� The decision of the Judges appointed for different events shall be final and binding upon all.

� Team Managers may submit written complaint to the Organizing Secretary alongwith a protest appellate fees @Rs. 1000/- (Rupees one thousand) per event, mentioning 8 pecific reasons; document, evidence (if any).

� Decision of the Authority on any matter is final and bindings upon all.
