    1/1

2 nd Prelim AnalysisIn our second attempt of the prelim, we madesome improvements throughout the whole of the clip. We started with a shot of Elsie walkingup the stairs, this showed a variation of camera angles which was missing from our first prelim. However Elsie reached the top of the stairs and appears to be walking throughthe door, this is when we accidently cut off thetop of her head with our camera work. This is amistake we must not make when we film our proper opening of the thriller because the mark scheme states that there must be acontrolled use of camera which frames the individual character in the correct manner.

Another criticism would be that when Elsiewas walking it seemed she was walking uitetilted and not in a natural manner, this alsomust be addressed when we film our realthriller. When filming our prelim before editingit all together we had to retake some shots asthey looked unnatural or didn!t flow with theediting. An e"ample of this would be whenfilming the shot#reverse#shot Elsie had her finger on the phone $pointing to an ob%ect in one shot&. When filming the ne"t shot wehad to ensure that the finishing position of Elsie with her finger on the phone carried onthroughout the ne"t shot, so it doesn!t look like it has suddenly disappeared.

Another e"ample of continuity would be that inour first prelim one of the characters lookedlike she had %ust appeared on a chair rather than showing how she walked from the door tothe chair. When filming the cinematographyand editing shots of shot#reverse#shot andmaking sure we stayed within the '() degreerule we shot all these sections separately tothem merge them together in our editing styleof making it look like a consistent conversation.
