17-year-old local boys named Ponybo

Curtis, Johnny Cade and Dallas Winsto

stepped out of their comfort zone an

took a risk on saving children's live

from a burning church at Jay Mountain

Windrixville.

It all happened in October 10,

1963. A church was burning and

students were having a school picnic b

the church. Some kids were playin

around and went inside the church.

With a sudden the church started to

burn. Winston took Cade and Curtis to

restaurant the Dairy Queen which

where they had been dying to eat in.

After eating they drive back to the

and they saw the church on fire.

Curtis wanted to find out what was

going on but Winston said What for?,

answered Curtis and said that they

were having a school picnic by the

church and the church just suddenly

started burning. Curtis thought to

himself they might have started this

fire because a lighted cigar wasmaybe dropped when they were

hiding at the church after Cade kille

Old Abandoned Church

Then a lady came in running Mrs.

Mapalo and said Some of the kids

are missing!! Joe said they are

probably around outside the church

somewhere but they have been

missing for half an hour. Strange

noise were coming out from the

church. Could it be the childrens

asking for help? Joe, Mapalo and

Curtis thought those were some ofthe missing kids.

The Church on fire

Curtis ran madly fast into

church, went thru a window to go ins

the church since it was locked. Cu

then started to search for some kids. H

bit him. Curtis and Cades life w

endangered since parts of the church aburning and started to crave and a

second since it is very old.
