Narrative The Automotive Collision Repair Program is the only program of its kind in this area. Thisprogram is a viable part of the community as consumers are waiting longer to purchase newvehicles. The program provides training for area suppliers and industries while stayingabreast of current curriculum requirements. Narrative STRENGTHS:
Student Progress Students who complete program score marginally higher on certificationexaminations that those who exit the program after completing several courses. Students are fcusedon safety and shop safety in the process of attining needed skills.
LearnerCentered Teaching – A variety of teaching methods are employed. Programcommunication includes email, discussion groups, research projects, internet researchprojects and real world research projects.

Instructor Credentials –Instructors meet the SACS standards as well as the Postsecondarystandards. Current program coordinator has over 13 years of teaching experience.
Student Satisfaction : Students are fully engaged in the course material and experiences,although many prefer not to study the theory of the trade. Students are sometimes anxiousto begin painting or other technical activities rather than mastering the theory behind thetechnique.
Adherence to Policy – All courses start on time, noshow reports are submitted on time,intervention and counseling is used regularly to retain students. Faculty office hours aremaintained and deadlines are regularly met as possible.
CHALLENGES: Students often enter the program to get the needed skills and then exit theprogram to seek employment. This impacts the rention rate of program completers.
SUGGESTED PLAN OF ACTION: Council studnets on the importants of completing theprogram. Inform studnets on important of repetitive skill mastery.

STRENGTHS: Program is industry specific and reflects the current trends in the automotiveindustry.
Program Enrollment LevelsProgram currently has 15 students.Enrollment Growth Rate:The enrollemnt growth rate for the program has declined compared to enrollment data for thecollege.
Program Advisory Committee Recommendations: Program Advisory Committeerecommends lab assistant to help monitor progress in laboratory experiences. Its is alsorecmmended that the program seeks NATAF certification.
Industry Surveys: Industry surveys state that automotive body and related repairers areprojected to grow to percent from 2014 to 2024, faster than the average for all occupations.Job opportunities are to be very good for automotive body and glass repairers. The bestopportunities in utomotive body repair will be available to those with industry certification andformal training in automotive body repair and refinishng, and in collision repair. Those withoutany training or experience will ace strong competition for jobs. (www.dol.gov)

Labor Market Data: According to data from Department of Labor, automotive body andrelated repaires projected employment in 2014 was 169,100. The projected employment ratefor 2024 is 184,300 indicating a 9% increase in employment projections.
Employer Satisfaction Survey: According to the 2011 Employer Satisfaction Survey result,30% of employers rate the ABR program as Good, 30% of empllyers rate the ABR program asVery Good, and 40% of employers rate the program as excellent.
Alumni Satisfaction Survey: According to 20142015 Alumni Satisfacotion Survey result,50% of respondents rated their satisfaction as very good and 50% of respondents rated theiras excellent.
CHALLENGES: One of the major challenges in program instruction is dilapidated facilities. SUGGESTED PLAN OF ACTION: Continue to systematically request funding and additionalfunding to help meet the hanging needs of the program and the industry.

CHALLENGES: The nature of this program gives many students the impression that the majority of theclassroom time will be spent in the laboratory or on the shop floor, so therefore they resentthe classroom theory time.
SUGGESTED PLAN OF ACTION:Incorporate varies instructional methods to break the monotony of the classroom lecturetime. Create, maintain and offer hybrid course supplements using the Moodle platform toallow for more laboratory experience contact time.

Narrative Through theory and laboratory course, students are introduced to design and proper repairprocedures of automotive unibody and body over frames vehicles. Summary Instructions: Based upon the information in the Comprehensive Program Review,comment on the following areas concerning the program.
STRENGTHS OF THE PROGRAM: The strength of the program is the creativity of the instructor in maintaining his work spaceand the instructional space of the facility the program is housed in. The space is large andcan accommodate a variety of instructional learning activities simultaneously. Theprogram utilizes the latest repair technology to instruct students on welding, shop safety,metal straightening, fiberglass repair and preparing damage estimates. Students obtain skillsthat include all phases of auto body repair, which will immediately prepare them foremployment. The program has a good collaboration with local industry. CHALLENGES OF THE PROGRAM: Program retention and ultimately program completion present a challenge. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PROGRAM IMPROVEMENT:
