Grade 6 Production a Hit Congratulations to our Grade 6 students and the team of staff, parent volunteers and grade 5 support crew for their hit performance of Worry Warts. The story of young Keith Shipley who goes on an opal hunting adventure in an effort to cheer up his misery guts parents and reignite their love for each other was portrayed excellently by cast and crew. Each of the students’ portrayed an in-depth understanding of their characters and most im- portantly, were clearly having a good time on stage. Well done Grade 6 students you made us all proud. We’d like to especially thank the staff who volunteered a great deal of their personal time to provide our stu- dents with this opportunity. Thank you also to the parents who help with props, canteen, costumes and much more. Thank also goes to Miss Csabi friend who came along to help with a number of backstage jobs. It takes a real community effort to put on a play and our community really stepped up. Well done and thank you to all who were involved. Premier’s Reading Challenge 2015 The PRC has now closed for 2015 and we would like to congratulate the 18 students who successfully complet- ed the challenge. Thursday 22nd October 2015 Our Art Show is in its fourth year. The students have worked with members of our local community and parents to create some wonderful pieces for the exhibition. We hope all families can make it along to what should be a fabulous show.

Can you donate a trolley item?

This year we are asking parents if they can help out by donating a shopping trolley item to add to the raffle, which is drawn after the art show. The raffle prizes are typically items like; pencils, paints, brushes, felt pens, canvases, craft goods or any other art related item you can come up with.

In supporting the raffle you help to ensure the ongoing success of the wonderful art program at our school. Do-nations can be left at the office. Many thanks for your contribution. Michelle and Liz

MOUNT DANDENONG PRIMARY TENNIS COACHING Some exciting news for term 4 at Mount Dandenong PS— There will be tennis coaching on a Wednesday at

lunch times. This will be available to Preps, grade 1 and grade 2 to begin with. The first Wednesday of term 4, 7th of Octo-

ber, will be a free trail lesson for all Preps to grade 2 who are interested.

Classes will be full of fun, excitement, energy and will use the ANZ hotshots modified tennis equipment, that

makes learning the game of tennis easy.

Cost will be $80 for the term, which will get your child 8 lunch time lessons that will run for

50 min. All students who wish to play will need to get a sign up sheet from Lee, the tennis

coach, and return it to Lee filled out by your parents. Looking forward to some great tennis

in term 4.

Lee Patrick, Tennis Australia Club Professional Coach—M: 0412402265.

Would you be interested in an annual DVD of school memories?

The school’s fundraising committee are exploring the idea of putting

together an annual DVD of memories that parents can purchase. It

might include footage of assemblies, productions, concerts and other

special events. A wonderful memento capturing the past year.

Our first step is to work out the feasibility and costs that might be

involved. So we are reaching out to the school community to ask if

anyone knows of a videographer or someone with a keen interest in

filming, that might be interested in helping us with this idea.

If you know of anyone… please ask them to contact

Megan on 0418 331 743. No obligation, we just want to start the

conversation and see if this idea has value!
