Are you tapping your feet? Are you shaking those hips? There’s a rhythm at 31

Bits that has people across the world dancing, and we don’t plan on pressing pause

anytime soon.

The roaring laughter, the unmistakable skill, and the sense of community at the 31

Bits Uganda Headquarters has reminded us of the underlying rhythm that makes us

who we are. Every beat you hear at 31 Bits is propelled by a thoughtful action, and

every thoughtful action leads to another. We designed holistic development programs

enabling women to rise above poverty, but little did we know they would do much

more than that. The women of 31 Bits have been compelled to take “thoughtful

action” in their community. They began moving in together, sharing meals, and caring

for each other’s children. They began volunteering at the hospital and counseling

women in the local prison. Their mindsets about their capabilities and their futures

have shifted. They have confidence in their skills, a fresh outlook on their lives, and

goals for themselves and their children.

The 110 women we work with in Uganda didn’t need a superhero to help them out

of poverty. They needed a reason to dance. At some point in their lives, their potential

and skills were put on pause, but 31 Bits gave them a place to unlock their potential,

to find identity, and to be happy. A place where joy and hope are part of everyday life.

A place where every movement is propelled by thoughtful action. 31 Bits became their

HOUSE OF RHYTHM.

made from recycled paper by women in Northern Uganda. By selling their jewelry in the international

market, we are able to provide our beneficiaries with sustainable monthly incomes and holistic development
