Digitization of surface technologyThe VDMA OPC SurfaceTechnology Initiative focuses on machine-to-machine communication in the surface technology sector. The Joint Working Group’s remit extends to painting technology, cleaning and pre-treatment, industrial plasma techniques and abrasive blasting. Deutsche Messe AG supports this joint initiative by VDMA Surface Technology and the OPC Foundation.

The goal is to reduce the input of time and effort involved when integrating machines, installa-tions and surface technology devices with one another, as well as with peripheral systems and production control systems. Leading surface technology companies have joined forces to create a common interface for paint supply systems under the umbrella of OPC UA. Interface standards for other machine types will follow successively. OPC UA is an open standard that defines the mechanisms of cooperation in an industrial environment, thus paving the way to digital network-ing. Machinery and systems can be reconfigured as required using Plug & Work – regardless of the manufacturer of the machines and components.

BMWi group presentationSurfaceTechnology GERMANY is an ideal springboard to international markets. Supported by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi), this group presentation is targeted at dynamic start-up enterprises. Participation is limited to companies no older than 10 years, with fewer than 50 employees and annual sales/an annual balance sheet total not in excess of € 10 million.

ZVO group presentationCovering an area of almost 4,000 m², this event organ-ized by the German Surface Technology Association (ZVO) focuses on the cross-industry potential of surface treatment technology. It embraces the entire industrial value chain – from cleaning and pre-treatment to coat-ing and post-treatment. The exhibitor line-up includes contract finishers, coaters, galvanizers, suppliers of chemicals, plants and equipment, as well as service pro-viders and scientific institutes.
