3D in 2D
Research In order to make a successful art piece I had to do some research. I started with researching some artists for inspiration, and I searched on google images for some 3D drawing ideas. I also looked briefly at what foreshortening, 1D, 2D, 3D, 4D, 5D and perspectives, one point and two point perspectives. After this I went to youtube to practise. I watched videos of drawing of 3D drawings. I learned some shadow techniques and how to make something look 3D.
After looking at some ideas from the internet I decided on the things that I wanted to do I first looked through some books and images of pop up books, but I eventually found out that because of limited time a book would take too much time to make..
Then I came up with the idea of perspectives and I decided to draw a hand from different perspectives. So I searched on the internet for artists which uses perspectives and then I found this art piece. And I came to remember what our teacher said about foreshortening, and I decided to research more about that.
Then I decided to draw a drawing from a bird's eye view using both foreshortening, 3D and perspectives.
ExploringThese are the drawings I did to practise my 3D skills.

Exploring After coming up with the final idea I made some sketches and found out what materials to use. I wrote all of this down in my process journal.
Sketches
Process Since I am working with acrylics I did a lot of experimenting while I painted because mistakes are really easy to cover with new paint.
I took a picture of all the times I messed up as well, there was a lot of experimenting.
I tried to see which skin tone I wanted to work with.
Reference
tHis is the picture I took to look at while painting. I tried editing it so that it would be easier to see where the shadows are.
