Nano Dimension’s Dragonfly 3D Printer
3The Technology
How The Printer Works• Modern PCBs require extreme precision
• The printer uses advanced inkjet printheads
• The printheads contain hundreds of small nozzles that allow for very exact pico-liter deposition of nanotech inks
• Sophisticated proprietary software ensures that ink droplets are deposited so that the silver-particle build-up maintains the shape required for conductive traces
• The printer system ensures that the inks dry quickly at the time of deposition
• An additional process cures the silver nano-particles to ensure a durable end product
• Once the conductive traces have been cured the printer prints an insulating layer which serves as the substrate for the next conductive layer
• Interconnnections or vias between conductive traces on different layers can be printed, allowing for easy and rapid manufacture of advanced multi-layer circuitry
3The Technology
Nano Dimension’s Nano Lab & IP
Nano Dimension’s R&D team has significant expertise in the fields of conductive inks and nano-polymer encapsulation• An exclusive license from The Hebrew University to commercialize
a breakthrough process for making conductive silver nano-particles for conductive inks
• The company has provisional patents for a new insulating ink (single- material reinforced nano-epoxy) and also for the 3D PCB printing process
• Nano Dimension’s advanced conductive inks can be formulated and is available as an end-product for a variety of industrial customers
3The Technology
