I Work Hard. Be kind. Math This week, we have been studying probability. Students also learned how to determine possible outcomes, and they even helped me create a tree diagram for all of Moby’s bandana combinations. So much fun! Remember: Early dismissal (noon) on Monday and Tuesday to make time for Parent/Teacher Conference. I look forward to seeing you all. We are busy practicing our St. Nick Night songs. Please consider practicing at home, too! We LOVE when parents join for weekly Mass on Wednesdays at 9am. Please encourage your child to follow our school wide expectations at Mass, even if you are not sitting in our section. That means participating, no talking, and in uniform. Thanks! Thanks for all your donations to the Thanksgiving boxes. These local families are so thankful to have additional food and supplies during the upcoming holidays. Important Dates: Nov 19-20 Noon Dismissal & Parent/ Teacher Conferences Nov 21No School Dec 6 St. Nick Night @ 6:30 pm Dec 10 Scholastic Order Forms Due Dec 13 National Banner Assembly 1 pm Dec 21 Cookie Swap @ 2:00 pm Next Week: ELA Students started Lesson 4 in Wordly Wise and continue to read The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles. They are working on answering comprehension questions using details from the text. This week in Science, students learned about the Ring of Fire! We are exploring plate tectonics and they worked this week to map out areas of volcanic and earthquake activity. I hope your child has had a chance to practice their typing this week. I can see an improvement in some of them already! In Writing, we focused this week on using direction quotations. They can’t wait to apply these skills to their personal narratives soon. If your child is participating in the Global Reading Challenge, please join me in encouraging them to read at home! It is important that they finished their assigned book soon so that they can read the other books in the challenge and begin to study. Thank you!
