Description

This impressive detached house is believed to date

from 1938 and is constructed with rendered elevations

under tiled roofs. The well presented accommodation,

arranged over 2 floors, has been significantly altered

and extended over the years to create an excellent

family house. With deep glazed windows and dual

aspects to many of the rooms, the property has a light

and airy feel throughout.

Outside

The property is set back from the road behind

established shrubs and bushes. A gated entrance leads

to a block paved driveway, providing parking for several

cars. The gardens lie predominately to the south west

of the house and are well screened by a variety of trees

and bushes. There is a large expanse of lawn, flower

and shrub beds and a detached timber Summer House

14' x 11'6 (4.27m x 3.37m) with power and light.

Location Strangeways Road is situated on the north side of Queen Ediths Way, about 1.75 miles to the south of the city centre. It is well placed for access to a mainline railway station, with services to London's King's Cross and Liverpool Street, in approximately 52 and 67 minutes respectively, and Addenbrooke's hospital/Biomedical Campus, which is planned to be one of the largest centres of health, science and medical research in the world. There is a small parade of local shops and a public house in nearby Wulfstan Way with more comprehensive facilities available in the nearby village of Cherry Hinton (about 0.75 of a mile). There are also a number of leisure and sporting facilities within walking or cycling distance, including Hills Road Sports Centre, providing indoor and outdoor tennis courts, gym etc and Cambridge Leisure, a supermarket, restaurant complex, to the north of Cherry Hinton Road. A number of state and independent schools are within close proximity including Queen Edith Community Primary School and Netherhall Secondary School/Sixth Form College, both within a few hundred yards, and The Perse (boys).
