Local Authority requirements differ from area to area,
therefore, we recommend that you contact your Local
Borough Environmental Officer to obtain full details of
your area's requirements.
SAFETY WARNINGSBefore proceeding with the installation, please note
the following safety warnings:
1. Always follow the manufacturers advice when
using power tools, steps, ladders etc. and wear
suitable protective equipment (e.g. safety goggles)
when drilling holes and hammering home cable
clips etc.
2. Before drilling holes in walls, check for hidden
cables and pipes. The use of a cable/pipe locator
may be advisable if in any doubt.
3. When using ladders, ensure that they are
positioned on a firm stable surface at the correct
angle and suitably secured before use.
4. The use of ear defenders is advisable when working
in close proximity to the Siren due to the high sound
level produced by this device.
SYSTEM SECURITYThis system has been designed to both detect intruders
and act as a strong deterrent to would-be intruders.
Please remember that, given adequate knowledge and
time, it is possible to overcome any alarm system and
we therefore recommend that an Intruder Alarm is used
in conjunction with good physical protection such as
security windows and door locks.
The system is operated from the Control Panel using a
4 digit User Access code. Care should be taken to
ensure that your User Access code does not become
known to other people as this will compromise the
security of your system. In this event the User Access

The PA4 Alarm Package contains all components
necessary to install a complete system. The items
included in your Package are shown opposite. The
main components are as follows:-
ALARM CONTROL PANELThe Control Panel is the heart of the intruder alarm
system and contains the microprocessor and electronic
circuitry necessary to monitor the various detection
circuits (Zones) and to initiate an alarm condition in the
event of an intrusion into a protected area.
The complete system operates at 12 Volts powered
from the plug-in mains adaptor. In the event of a
mains failure, the system will operate from the
optional Back-up Batteries if these have been fitted.
The Control Panel is operated via the push buttons on the
front of the Control Panel allowing the user to ARM/
DISARM the system, Omit Zones, view the Event Log,
Test the system or Program the various system functions.
A four digit User Access Code ensures that only
authorised users can operate the system. The Control
Panel also contains a small speaker used to indicate
various conditions by means of a variety of tones.
The Control Panel incorporates a ‘Non Volatile Memory’,
(NVM) which records all program settings indefinitely
even when all power has been removed.
The Control Panel will also remember which mode it was
in when power was disconnected and revert to this
mode when power is restored, e.g. if the panel was in
Alarm Mode when the power was removed, the panel will
continue to be in Alarm Mode when power is restored.
All detectors and alarm circuits are wired from the
Control Panel and operate at 12 Volts dc.
PASSIVE INFRA RED MOVEMENTDETECTORSPassive Infra Red (PIR) detectors are designed to
detect movement in a protected area by detecting
changes in infra red radiation levels within its field of
vision. If movement is detected the PIR detector will
generating an alarm signal at the Control Panel, (if
the system is armed). PIR detectors will also detect
animals, so ensure that pets are not permitted
access to areas fitted with PIR Movement Detectors
when the system is armed.
Additional Passive Infra Red Movement Detectors
can be purchased separately, if required.
MAGNETIC CONTACT DETECTORSEach Magnetic Contact Detector comprises two parts;
a Magnetic Contact Switch and a Magnet. They are
designed to be fitted to either doors or windows with
the Magnet fixed to the moving/opening part and the
Contact Switch fixed to the door or window frame.
When the protected door or window is closed, the
Contact Switch is held closed by the magnetic field
from the Magnet. Opening the protected door or
window will remove the magnetic field and allow the
contact switch to open generating an alarm signal at
the Control Panel, (if the system is armed).
Additional Magnetic Contacts can be purchased
separately, if required.
EXTERNAL SIRENThe External Siren enclosure houses the Siren, which
when assembled, installed and wired to the Control
Panel will activate in the event of an intrusion with the
system armed. In the event of the cable to the Siren
Unit being deliberately cut an alarm will be generated
at the control panel, provided that the tamper circuit
to the Siren has been connected.
INTRODUCTION & OVERVIEW
2 PA4 Alarm
SYSTEM OPERATION AFTER POWER FAILUREIf a power failure occurs while the system is
armed and backup batteries are not fitted (or flat)
then when power is restored the system will be in
its previously armed state. If there are any PIR
detectors wired to any active zone then an alarm
will initially occur. The siren will sound for the set
alarm duration after the 3-4 minutes required for
the PIR detectors to stabilise.
This is because the PIR detectors require a period
of 3-4 minutes to stabilise before they operate
correctly and during this period they effectively
generate an alarm signal to the Control Panel.
Note: Although optional, it is strongly recommended
that backup batteries are fitted.

SYSTEM FEATURES
USER FUNCTIONS
ARM/DISARMThe system has an easy arming facility. To fully arm
the system simply press the button or to partially
arm the system, omitting preselected Zones; press
the button. Then press .
QUICK SETThe final arming of the system can be quicker. This is
useful for night setting when the Entry/Exit sounder
can be silenced after just a few seconds.
EVENT LOGThe Control Panel incorporates an Event Log memory
capable of storing the last 4 alarm events. The Event
Log replay will enable the user to establish which
Zones have been activated if an alarm has occurred.
HOME AND ZONE OMIT
The button is used if you are remaining on the
premises and require to arm the system while omitting
pre-selected Zones.
The button enables you to omit any Zone
combination you require on a once only or temporary
basis.
Note: The Entry/Exit Zone cannot be omitted.
RESETPressing the button clears any previously entered
information at the keypad, e.g. incorrect buttons
pressed and also clears Fault Lights, and resets the
system after an alarm.
INSTALLER FUNCTIONS
PROGRAMMINGWhen a valid installer code has been entered, access to
programming the various system options will be permitted.
ZONESThe Control Panel incorporates four detection Zones
for the connection of the system detectors. Zone 1 is
intended for exclusive connection to the detector(s)
which are located on the Entry/Exit route and will
operate the Entry/Exit timers and associated tones.
The Magnetic Contacts on the front door would
normally be connected to Zone 1.
Other Detectors can be connected to Zones 2, 3 and
4 to protect the remaining areas within the property, as
required.
24 HOUR TAMPER CIRCUITMany system components incorporate tamper
protection facilities and the associated wiring can be
monitored on a 24 hour basis to generate an alarm
condition if the equipment or wiring is interfered with.
It is recommended that all system components with
tamper facilities are monitored for tamper.
SIREN ANTI TAMPER MONITORINGWiring to the External Siren is monitored on a 24 hour
basis. In the event of the wiring to the External Siren
being damaged or deliberately cut, an alarm will be
initiated at the Control Panel.
PROGRAMMABLE ZONE OPTIONS
ENTRY/EXITZone 1 is programmed as Entry/Exit to allow the user
a preselected (adjustable) time delay to exit and enter
the premises without creating an alarm. During the
Entry/Exit procedures, a low audible warning tone will
be emitted from the Control Panel speaker. Normally
the front door of the property would be the Entry/Exit
route and would be connected to Zone 1.
WALK THROUGH ZONEZone 2 is programmed for a detector which is fitted
between the Entry/Exit door and the Control Panel,
e.g. in the downstairs hallway. When the Entry/Exit
door is opened and the entry procedure begins, the
‘Walk Through Zone’ is inhibited for the duration of the
entry time, allowing the system to be disarmed without
creating an alarm. However, if the ‘Walk Through
Zone’ is violated before the entry procedure is
initiated, a full alarm will instantly occur.
Note 1: It is advisable to change Zone 2 to an ‘Instant’
Zone if this facility is not required.
Note 2: Zone(s) selected as ‘Walk Through’, cannot
also be selected to operate on the ‘HOME’ feature.

GENERAL SYSTEM PROGRAMMABLEOPTIONS
ENTRY TIMEThis is the time programmed to allow the user to
reach the Control Panel to disarm the system before
an alarm occurs. The Entry Time may be set between
01 - 99 seconds, depending on your own requirements.
The default Entry Time is 30 seconds. If the system is
not disarmed during the Entry delay period, a full
alarm will occur when the Entry time expires.
EXIT TIMEThis is the time programmed to allow the user to
exit the premises before the system finally arms. The
default Exit Time is 30 seconds however, this time
may be set between 01 - 99 seconds, depending
on your requirements. You will need to leave all
protected areas and close protected doors/windows
before the Exit time expires or a full alarm condition
will occur.
Note: If a Zone is open when the system is armed
the Control Panel will emit a series of beeps
(different to the Entry/Exit tone) to indicate which
Zone is open, (i.e. 1 beep = Zone 1 open). It is not
possible to Arm the system until the Zone is clear or
omitted before arming.
ZONE OMITIt is possible to pre-program a section of Zones for
regular Zone omitting ie: night setting where ground
floor Zones are armed whilst first floor Zones are
omitted. Once programmed, the use of the
button will Arm the system omitting the selected Zones.
It is also possible to omit a specified Zone(s) different
to the ‘Home’ setting on a once only/temporary basis
using the button.
ALARM DURATIONThis is the time that the External Siren will sound for
following an alarm activation. The program Alarm
Duration time is 20 minutes, however this can be set
to between 01 - 20 minutes, depending on individual
requirements.
Note: Most Local Authority noise pollution requirements
set limits acceptable for alarm duration. You should
therefore check your Local Authority requirements.
SYSTEM RESET (RETURN ALL OPTIONS TOFACTORY SETTINGS)If the User/Installer Access Codes have been lost or
forgotten, or the installer is unsure of the programmed
options, it is possible to return the Control Panel
program to the factory default settings. All previously
programmed options will be cleared and the system
will require to be re-programmed to the user’s
requirements.
USER ACCESS CODETo Arm and Disarm the system and perform other
functions, the user must enter a unique 4-digit User
Access Code at the Control Panel keypad. The
default User Access Code is but
this should be changed to your own unique code
which only you and other system users know, once
installation is complete.
INSTALLER ACCESS CODETo allow programming of the system options, a unique
Installer Access Code must be entered at the Control
Panel keypad. If the user is installing the system, you
may choose your own code. However, if the system
has been installed for you by an approved installer, the
installation code may not be available. The factory
default Installer Access Code is but
this should be changed when the programming has
been completed.
KEYPAD SECURITYThe Control Panel is protected from unauthorised
disarming by means of initiating an alarm if more
than 4 incorrect attempts to enter the User Access
Code are made. In addition, if any button is pressed
when the system is armed, the Entry timer will start.

GENERALBefore attempting to install any wiring or system
components, it is recommended that a plan of the
proposed installation is prepared. This should help the
installation to be completed using the most unobtrusive
and effective methods. The following guidelines should
be followed and used in conjunction with the example
provided when preparing your own system plan.
LOCATING THE CONTROL PANELThe Control Panel should be located out of obvious
sight of potential intruders and in a safe location, but
easily accessible for system operation.
Typically, the Control Panel may be located close to the
main entry door or in a small cupboard under the stairs
(or similar) close to a mains socket. An ideal mounting
height would be the same as a household light switch
or similar. If small children are in the household, a
further consideration should be given to keeping the
Panel out of reach.
Also consider the user’s ability to hear the Entry/Exit
Tone emitted by the Control Panel effectively when
setting the system. It is preferable that the Exit Tone
can be heard from outside the property when arming
the system.
The final position of the Control Panel will depend on
the individual user requirements.
Note: If using the Home Arm feature the Control Panel
must not be located within an area protected by a PIR
Movement detector unless this detector is not
activated during Home Arm.
DETECTOR WIRINGWhere only one detector per Zone is to be connected,
the cable should be run directly to the detector.
However, if more than one detector is to be connected
to a Zone, either (a) run all cables back to the Control
Panel or (b) run one cable to the Control Panel and link
the detector contacts in ‘SERIES’ and power supplies
in ‘PARALLEL’, (refer to example installation wiring
diagrams on pages 15-16).
MAGNETIC CONTACT DETECTORSThe Magnetic Contact Detectors are suitable for
mounting in dry interior locations only.
Decide which doors and windows are to be protected by
fitting the Magnetic Contact Detectors. Normally the
front and back doors will have Magnetic Contact
Detectors fitted. Additional detectors may be fitted
where required to other more vulnerable doors or
windows, e.g. garage, patio and conservatory doors etc.
Note: It is not recommended to connect more than
four Magnetic Contacts to one Zone, as this may
cause difficulty in wiring and hinder any attempt to
remedy wiring faults efficiently.
PIR MOVEMENT DETECTORSThe PIR Detectors are suitable for mounting in dry
interior locations only.
When considering and deciding upon the mounting
position for the detector the following points should be
considered to ensure trouble free operation:
1. Ideally the detector should be positioned in a corner
of the room to be protected where the logical path
of an intruder would cut across the fan detection
pattern of the device. PIR detectors respond more
effectively to movement across the device than to
movement directly towards it.
2. Do not position the detector facing a window or
where it is exposed to direct sunlight. PIR detectors
are not suitable for use in conservatories.
3. Do not position the detector where it is exposed to
draughts.
4. Do not position the detector directly above a heat
source, (e.g. fire, radiator, boiler, etc).
5. Do not position the detector in a position where it is
subject to excessive vibration.
Note: When the system is armed, household pets
should not be allowed into an area protected by a PIR
as their movement would trigger the PIR and activate
the alarm. Alternatively a PIR protected Zone may be
'Omitted' to allow for pet movement.
EXTERNAL SIRENThe external housing should be located as high as
possible in a prominent position so that it can be
easily seen and heard. When running the cable to the
siren, the cable should pass through a hole in the
external wall and enter through the rear of the casing.

Surface wiring to the External Siren is not recommended
unless it is mechanically protected, e.g. in steel tubing
or equivalent. However, if surface wiring is unavoidable,
the 24 hour monitoring will activate the Control Panel
sounder if damage occurs. However, if the system is
armed at the time a full alarm will occur.
FURTHER CONSIDERATIONSIf the system is to be armed at night ie. (Zones
omitted) while the occupants remain in the household,
make sure that any detectors which are to be omitted
are wired exclusively to those Zone(s).
(Remember that a ‘Walk Through Zone’ cannot also
be selected on the ‘Home’ setting). Pay particular
attention to the most vulnerable points of entry to
your property, which are the doors and windows to
the side and rear of the property.
Plan your cable runs for ease of installation and
neatness of final appearance, allowing for concealing
cables where necessary.
INSTALLATION EXAMPLEThe following example shows typical floor plans for a two
storey domestic property incorporating the suggested
positions for the Control Panel, External Siren and
Detectors, for optimum security. Use this as a guide for
your installation in conjunction with the recommendations
for planning your intruder alarm system.
In this example, the front door is the Entry/Exit route to
the property and is connected to Zone 1.
The side door is also fitted with a Magnetic Contact
and is connected to Zone 2.
The Living Room and Dining Room are fitted with PIR
Movement Detectors detecting entry into the rooms
from any angle and are connected to Zone 3.
An additional PIR has been fitted on the upstairs
landing. The upstairs PIR Movement Detector will
detect entry into the first floor and is connected to
Zone 4 (This is the Zone which will be intentionally
omitted when the system is armed at night).

Choose a suitable position to locate the Control Panel
as described in ‘Planning The Installation’.
Note: The Control Panel should be mounted on an
even flat surface to prevent the possibility of distortion
to the Control Panel casing.
1. There is no need to completely remove the front
cover screws, simply loosen the screws, then hinge
open and lift the cover from the top lip and place
safely to one side.
2. Hold the Control Panel in position and mark the
location of the three mounting holes on the wall. A
small spirit level placed on the casing will ensure a
perfect level.
Note the position of the cable entries that you may
require before fixing the Control Panel. The final
use of cable entries will depend on the individual
installation requirements.
3. Remove the Control Panel, drill 3 x 6mm holes and
insert the 30mm plastic wall plugs supplied. Using
the 30mm No.8 screws fix the Control Panel loosely
onto the two slotted holes at the top. The top
screws may be tightened and the remaining bottom
screw inserted when the installation is complete.
Important: Do not drill the fixing holes with the
Control Panel in position, as the resulting dust could
seriously affect the system electronics and invalidate
the guarantee.
TESTING THE CONTROL PANELThe Control Panel is factory fitted with small wire links
inserted to the Zone and 24Hr Tamper connections.
These can be removed, then replaced when testing
the Control Panel to simulate a detector switch
opening and closing.
Note: If the front cover tamper switch is not bypassed,
the Control Panel will indicate a 24 hour fault, indicated
by the 24 Hr LED and internal sounder activating. To
temporarily bypass the Control Panel Anti Tamper
Switch, connect a short piece of the alarm cable
(approx. 100 mm) between terminals 11 and 21, while
you test the Zones. Leave this wire connected
throughout the installation and whilst you connect the
detectors to the Control Panel.
Should the panel speaker sound during testing,

6. To end the test sequence, press .
7. The plug in Mains Adaptor must now be
disconnected, but will be re-connected when
testing each detector as it is installed.
WIRING THE DETECTION ZONESIn order to keep wiring consistent and aid
installation/connections, it is recommended that the
following wiring code is adhered to throughout the
installation:-
Red12V +ve supply to each
PIR Movement Detector
Black0V -ve supply to each
PIR Movement Detector
Yellow Normally closed detector contact alarmBlue Zone circuit
Green24 Hr normally closed Tamper CircuitWhite
The power supply to each PIR Movement Detector
should ideally be taken direct from the Control Panel
to each detector, so that a break in the cable only
results in one detector being out of service.
However, the power supply can be taken from one
detector to the next if required, up to a maximum of
four detectors or 50 metres of cable per Zone.
All Zone and Tamper circuit wiring must be wired in a
‘SERIES’ loop from the appropriate terminals in the
Control Panel. Where ‘Series’ connections are made
terminal blocks or insulating tape must be used to
prevent bare wires touching each other.
Surface cabling should be clipped at 1m intervals using
the clips supplied.
Please refer to the appropriate circuit wiring diagrams for
typical wiring arrangements for the detectors supplied.

INSTALLING THE PIRMOVEMENT DETECTORSThe Passive Infra Red (PIR) Movement Detectors
supplied with this kit are suitable for mounting in dry
interior locations only.
It is recommended that the PIR Detector is mounted in
the corner of a room, approximately 2.2m above floor
level. At this height the detector will have a 12m range
with a 90º spread. If required the detector may be
mounted at an 8° angle to tilt downwards and reduce
the detection pattern range.
Before fitting the detector, observe the environmental
considerations as described in ‘Planning The Installation’.
Note: A maximum of 7 PIR Movement Detectors can
be connected to the system in total.
PIR Detection Zone Patterns
MOUNTING THE PIR MOVEMENTDETECTORS
1. Having chosen a suitable position to locate the PIR
Detector, run the required length of 6-core cable
back to the Control Panel. Do not make any
connections at this stage.
2. Slightly loosen the cover retaining screw on the PIR
and remove the cover. Carefully remove the PCB by
un-clipping the PCB retaining clip at the bottom left
of the PCB.
Important: Do not touch the PIR sensor in the
middle of the PCB as any marking may impair the
unit’s performance. If accidentally touched, clean
with a lint-free cloth.
3. The unit can be mounted for the standard 12m
range by using the top two side holes, or tilted down
by 8° using the bottom two side holes. Alternatively,
the unit can be ceiling mounted using the two holes

WIRING THE PIR MOVEMENTDETECTOR(S)
1. Thread the cable through the entry on the base,
then strip back 5 mm of each core, twist the strand
ends then fold over and wire into the appropriate
terminals on the PIR Movement Detector.
The terminals on the PIR and the wires in the cable
are colour coded. The correct colour coding
should be followed throughout the entire system.
Red +ve power supply to each PIR Movement Detector.
Black 0V power supply to each PIR Movement Detector.
Yellow/Blue Detector normally closed Alarm Contact
Zone circuit.
Green/White 24 Hr normally closed Tamper circuit.
2. Carefully refit the PCB into the casing taking care
not to touch the PIR detector lens.
3. The PIR Detector incorporates an anti false alarm
feature designed to compensate for situations where
the detector may be affected by environmental
changes, (e.g. insects, hot air thermals from
radiators, etc). This feature is called ‘Pulse Count’
and may be selected for 1, 2 or 3 pulse detection.
The factory default and recommended setting is for
2 Pulse detection. However, in cases of extreme
environmental problems, or if unattributable false
alarms are experienced, it may be necessary to set
"Pulse Count" 3.
Note: The higher the ‘Pulse Count’, the more
movement will be necessary before the PIR
detector will trigger the alarm.
Pulse Count jumper link positions
4. Select the required ‘Pulse Count’. Refit the cover and
tighten the retaining screw. The PIR Movement Detector
is now ready to be connected at the Control Panel.
5. Bring the detector cable(s) though the cable entry
slot in the rear of the Control Panel and strip back
5 mm on each core.
6. Ensure that the Mains Adaptor is disconnected
from the Control Panel. Remove the appropriate
wire links, then connect the wires to the terminals
as shown in the diagrams on pages 13 - 15.
7. When the wiring has been completed, connect the
plug in Mains Adaptor. Wait 4 minutes for the

14 PA4 Alarm
Decide which doors and windows are to be protected
by Magnetic Contact Detectors, usually the front and
back doors will have Magnetic Contact Switches fitted.
Additional contacts may be fitted where required to
other vulnerable doors or windows, e.g. garage, patio
and conservatory doors etc.
Note: It is not recommended to connect more than 4
Magnetic Contacts in any one zone, as this may cause
difficulty in wiring and hinder any attempt to efficiently
remedy any wiring faults and locate the device that
initiated the alarm.
1. Having chosen a suitable position to locate the
Magnetic Contact, run the required length of 6 core
cable back to the Control Panel.
Alternatively, Magnetic Contact(s) may be wired in
series with each other and terminated appropriately.
However, working space within the Magnetic Contact
is limited and more than two or three termination's
may prove difficult.
Do not make any connections at this stage.
2. Fit the Magnet to the moving part of the window or
door (on the opening edge opposite the hinge) and
make sure that the parallel gap to where the Contact
Switch is fitted on the frame is no more than 9mm.
Typical position of contact fitted to door
WIRING THE MAGNETIC CONTACTS1. Remove one of the cable entry cut-outs on the
Contact Switch and thread the cable through the
entry into the Contact Switch housing.
2. Carefully remove the outer sheath of the cable and then
strip 5mm of insulation from the Yellow and Blue wires.
Connect the Yellow and Blue wires to the Contact
Switch terminals as shown.
3. Strip off 5 mm of the insulation from the Green and
White wires and connect together using a spare
terminal in the contact housing.
Note: If the spare contact terminals are not present in
the contact then the ends of the wires should be
securely twisted (or soldered) together and insulated.
If connecting multiple contacts the Tamper circuit
wiring should be continued in a series loop in a
similar way to the zone wiring.
The remaining wires should be trimmed back and
insulated to prevent short circuits and then tucked
away in the Contact Switch housing.
4. Fix the Contact Switch to the fixed part of the door/
window frame immediately beside and parallel to the
Magnet using two 25mm Counter-sunk fixing screws.
Ensure that the parallel gap between the Magnet and
Contact Switch positions is no greater than 9mm.
5. Bring the contact cable(s) through the cable entry
slot in the rear of the Control Panel and strip back
5mm of each core and twist the strand ends.

Note: At this stage, if any Magnetic Contacts are
open or PIR Movement Detectors are activated,
the relevant Zone LED(s) will be illuminated and
the panel will beep, The number of beeps will
indicate which Zone is open. You should ensure
that no movement occurs in areas fitted with PIR
Movement Detectors, as this may cause
confusion during the test sequence. If walking
past a PIR Movement Detector is unavoidable,
allow 10 seconds at the Control Panel for the PIR
Movement Detector to settle.
3. Open the first contact, the Control Panel will emit a
number of beeps corresponding to the Zone
number the detector is connected to and the
relevant Zone LED will flash.
Close the contact to silence the beeps and
extinguish the LED.
4. Repeat the test sequence for all Magnetic
Contacts fitted.
5. When the Magnetic Contacts have been tested
successfully, press to return to the Standby
Mode.
6. Now disconnect the Mains Adaptor before
continuing with the installation.
INSTALLING THEEXTERNAL SIRENThe External Siren should be fitted to the outside of
the building in a prominent position that is clearly
visible and at a height that is relatively inaccessible
to an intruder.
Consideration should also be given to the cable
route to the siren, with the cable preferably passing
directly through the external wall into the back of
the siren housing.
FITTING THE EXTERNAL SIREN UNIT
IMPORTANT: If ladders are required to reach the
mounting position of the Siren they should be
positioned on a firm stable surface at the correct
angle and suitably secured before use.
1. Undo the two front cover retaining screws and
remove the front cover by sliding up and away
from the backplate.
2. Fix the siren mounting bracket to the backplate
using the M3 screws, nuts and washers supplied.
3. Run the required length of cable from the Control
Panel to the External Siren position. Drill a
suitable hole through the wall so that the cable
enters through the rear of the housing without
showing on the outside of the property.

PROGRAMMINGGENERALProgramming of the Control Panel options is divided
into two distinct categories, User Programming and
Installer Programming. User programming is used
when the system is fully operational, whilst Installer
Programming is only carried out when the system is
new or when subsequent changes are required.
Access to either programming mode requires a valid
User or Installer Access Code to be entered. The more
complex and infrequently required programmable
options are available in Installer Programming Mode
only. This prevents the major system functions from
being accidentally changed by a general User.
The Control Panel has most of the options factory
pre-set at the most common settings, please
consider whether you really need to change them
before re-programming.
Programmable options accessed via Installer
Programming Mode are;
a) Selecting Walk Through Zone(s)
b) Entry Time Adjustment
c) Exit Time Adjustment
d) Selecting ‘Home’ Zones (Part Setting)
e) Alarm Duration
f) Select User Access Code arming
g) Change Installer Access Code
h) Reset System Defaults
Programmable options accessed via User
Programming Mode are;
Change User Access Code
Note: The User Access code can only be changed
if the "Code Arming" feature is disabled.
INSTALLERPROGRAMMING MODEBefore changing any installer programmable options,
the Control Panel must be set to Installer Programming
Mode. This is shown by the ‘Clear’ LED flashing.
Enter the default or current Installer Acess Code.
The ‘Clear’ LED will flash to indicate that the system is
now in the Installer Programming Mode.
Once programming is complete press to return
to Standby Mode.
Note: When selecting options, the system will allow
30 seconds to make a selection. If this time is exceeded,
the Control Panel will exit the function and revert to
Installer Programming Mode and the option button will
have to be pressed again. Once a selection is made the
system will allow 10 seconds for a valid key to be
pressed. If this time is exceeded the system will return
to the top level of the installer mode and the selection
will have to be made again.
Before starting programming any feature read all the
steps first.
