TheGulfport-Biloxi Sand Crabs of the Cotton States League played half a season in Biloxi during the summer of 1908.Many Major League and som Minor League teams held spring traing in the area. Even the 1920 Milwaukee Brewersof the American Association (direct descendant of the current Brewers) trained in Gulfport. See below.
