Prayer Requests Please pray for our Hadzabe brothers and sisters. A Jesus- movement is starting; pray that God will fan the flame. Please pray for the upcoming trip to Papua New Guinea (March 15- April 8). Please pray that God accomplishes His full will in our time there. Please pray for Taylor and I as we continue to seek the Lord in our ministry and marriage. Hello Everyone! Happy almost-spring to you all. I hope that this letter finds you well. In it you will read about a recent trip to Tanzania and all God did there. Thank you in advance for your time! I hope you enjoy it. Heart Hunger Hunger is something that most of us in the West know little to nothing about. Sure, most of us get hungry daily. However, typically those needs for food are met within just a few short minutes. Some of us try fasting, and others go for a few days without eating due to sickness or other reasons, but very few of us have ever fully experienced what it is like to feel truly hungry—to be starving. Our experience spiritually is much the same. In the West, our hunger for Jesus can quickly be met with abundant resources. We have access to Scripture in our language. Many of us have access to a local church. We have hundreds and hundreds of online resources and cell phone apps that give us unlimited access to the message of Jesus. This isn’t the case for many in the world. Until recently the Hadzabe of Tanzania would be included in that group. Tupa Tupa is one of them. He is a Hadzabe man in his mid- to late- 50’s. He lives a quiet life in a village, where he and his family reside in grass huts. During our trip to Tanzania this past month (January) we met Tupa Tupa when he arrived at our camp desiring one of the Hadzabe audio Bibles we had made. He, a representative of his family, received one along with almost one hundred other Hadzabe families. It was the first time in his life that he had access to the word of God in his own language. He was so excited. 5 Minute Ministry Update Romans 10 Project Nathan and Taylor Burdick January and February 2018

Hello Everyone!

Happy almost-spring to you all. I hope that this letter finds you well. In it you will read about a recent trip to Tanzania and all God did there. Thank you in advance for your time! I hope you enjoy it.

go for a few days without eating due to sickness or other reasons, but very few of us have ever fully experienced what it is like to feel truly hungry—to be starving.

Upon receiving his Bible, Tupa Tupa found a quiet place in the shade, sat down, turned on his Bible, and began to listen. Meanwhile, we returned to a nearby home to continue with translation and programing of more Bibles. Several hours passed and we came out of the home. Tupa Tupa was still there in the shade, listening intently. For the next several hours, even as the sun went down and we prepared for dinner, Tupa Tupa sat and listened to his audio Bible. Every once in a while, his quiet streak would be interrupted when one of the Hadzabe worship songs would come on and he would attempt to sing along. After the song, he would go back to listening. Tupa Tupa listened to his Bible all evening (at least until I decided to go to bed at around 9:30 pm, and I’m sure he continued listening longer still). He had been starving. For him the Word of God was like fresh water in a desert, and like bread for his soul.

Thank you to all who prayed and gave financially to this trip. I am excited to tell you that the Hadza now have 21 books of the New Testament in their language (audio version), as well as 21 stories from the overall big picture of Scripture, 8 Psalms, and numerous worship songs which go along with Bible stories. Miriamu, our main co-missionary and a Hadzabe herself, has made the commitment to spend 1 week per month doing intentional ministry with villages that are a long distance from her home. This is in addition to the regular ministry she does with Hadzabe living in villages near by her home. One of the most exciting things to tell you is that Miriamu has started a house church. She, some of her neighbors, and some Hadzabe gather on a weekly basis in their homes to worship God.

God is moving among the Hadza and many are hearing the message of Jesus! Please pray that God will continue the work, that He will protect and embolden Miriamu, and that He will continue to open the hearts of more and more Hadzabe to the message of Jesus.

Upcoming Trips and Ministry Opportunities From March 15th through April 8th my dad and I will be traveling back to Papua New Guinea. We plan to do some training for local Christians in a village called Hagini on how to reach out to people in their village as well other surrounding villages. We also hope to help produce an audio version of their Bible.
