Dear families of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, “Hosanna to the Son of David; blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord; hosanna in the highest” (Matthew 21:9). With these words the Church enters the holiest of weeks, commemorating the passion, death, and resurrection of Christ. When the people of Jerusalem cried out with their “hosannas,” they were using an ancient Hebrew shout of acclamation that meant “Pray, save us.” The king to whom they were shouting eventually would save them, but in a way that would be far from what they expected. Salvation would come from the wood of the cross as Jesus hung there to bring freedom from sin and life through death, opening the gates of heaven for all who put their faith and trust in him. Please read page 4 regarding distribution of palms on Palm Sunday. Since we are still awaiting for Holy Week guidelines from Bishop Barber we cannot at this time determine what will be happening. +++++ Queridas familias del Inmaculado Corazón de María “¡Viva el Hijo de David! ¡Bendito el que viene en el nombre del Señor! ¡Hosanna en el cielo!” (Mateo 21:9). Con estas palabras la Iglesia entra en la semana más santa cuando conmemora la Pasión, Muerte y Resurrección de Cristo. Cuando el pueblo de Jerusalén gritó sus “hosannas”, estaba usando un antiguo grito de aclamación hebreo que significa “sálvanos ahora”. El rey a quien se lo gritaban los salvaría, pero de una manera que sobrepasó sus expectativas. La salvación vendría del madero de la cruz del cual colgaba Jesús para traer liberación del pecado y vida por medio de la muerte, abriendo las puertas del cielo para todos los que ponen su fe y confianza en él. It’s St. Vincent de Paul time again! The collections to St. Vincent de Paul here at IHM helps many. Some of the money you donate goes towards purchasing food for our pantry and used to feed our neighbors in need. However, a large part of your donation is used to assist our neighbors when there is a crisis, or an unfortunate circumstance that prevents them from making ends meet. Your generosity last year enabled us to: - Provide 3,095 visits to offer material and spiritual help to neighbors in need - Serve 14,876 people from our food pantry - Distribute $158,390 in value of aid, including in-kind, throughout our community Your donation may be sent to St. Vincent de Paul c/o IHM or delivered to the Parish Office. 2020 Scholarships Graduating High School Seniors and Continuing College Students are reminded that the 2020 High School
and College scholarships are available on the IHM Brentwood Website or at the parish office. Scholarships are due by April 10, 2020. A minimum of six High School graduates and two continuing college scholarships are available.

For Palm Sunday weekend, the clergy will privately bless the palms on Saturday, April 4, both the generic ones and those put together by our youth for their World Youth Day fundraiser. On Sunday, April 5, at 9AM, 12noon and 2PM, we plan to have one drive-by station dedicated for palms by the youth, and 2 drive-by stations to distribute the generic palms:
1. Plaza (youth palms for free will donation) 2. Rotunda Entrance 3. Garden Entrance

Dear God - Thank you that You are our good, good Father. You are seated on the throne of Your glorious power, Never to be moved by the forces of evil, all of whom You defeated through the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Your beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. We praise You for who You are, our holy and most worthy God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Today we face together this virus, help us remember the words Jesus spoke to us the night before he died: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubles and do not be afraid. (John 14:27) O Lord, we receive your peace, a peace that is not dependent on the world nor its circumstances. We receive the deep peace of the Prince of Peace. May this peace guard not only our hearts, but also the hearts Of all the world, especially those affected by this virus. We pray You will draw all people to find rest in You. dear God, for You alone cause us to dwell in tranquility. Please bless our civil and religious leaders, and guide Them to make the right decisions for the good of all. We asj You to remove this scourge from us, and Through it to bring us all closer to you, our beloved Lord.

+ Intercession of Our Lady of Guadalupe Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, Queen of Angels, and Mother of the Americas. We fly to you today as your beloved children. We ask you to intercede for us with your Son, as you did at the wedding at Cana. Pray for us, loving Mother, and gain for our nation and the world, and for all our families and loved ones, the protection of your holy Angels, that we may be spared the worst of this illness. For those already afflicted, we ask you to obtain the grace of healing and deliverance. Hear the cries of those who are vulnerable and fearful. Wipe away their tears and help them to trust in your Son. In this time of trial and testing, teach all of us in the Church to love one another and to be patient and kind. Help us to bring the peace of Jesus to our land and to our hearts. We come to you with confidence, knowing that you truly are our compassionate mother, Health of the sick, and cause of our joy. Shelter us under the mantle of your protection, keep us in the center of your arms, and help us always to know the love of your Son, Jesus. Amen.
In this time of need, we invite all the faithful to pray the Pope’s prayer for Healing: O Mary, you shine always on our way as a sign and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the foot of the Cross bound yourself to the suffering of Jesus, keeping strong in your faith. O Salvation of God’s people, you know what we need and we are sure you will provide it for us just as in Cana of Galilee the joy and feasting returned after this moment of trial. Mother of Divine Love, help us to conform our-selves to the will of the Father and to do what Jesus tells us, He who took upon Himself our sufferings, and is marked by our sorrows; who led us from the Cross to the joy of the Resurrection. IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM IHM
• All Masses have been cancelled until further notice;
however, the church is open from 9am to 4pm for private
prayer but the Chapel will be closed.
• All baptisms, Quinceaneras, weddings have been
cancelled until further notice.
• Funerals—no Masses at IHM; however, committal service
at the cemetery will be performed by the clergy.
• No vigil services will be performed.
• RCIA class is cancelled until further notice.
• The fish fry has been cancelled.
• St. Vincent de Paul will still have food provided with a
drive through service only.
• The office will be closed until April 7, 2020.
• We will be using FLOCKNOTES to inform our
parishioners, refer to page 7. If you don’t receive them
yet, please email [email protected] to be added.
• All Penance Services in the deanery have been cancelled.
• The Stations of the Cross have been cancelled.

• IHM is working on live stream Mass which will be

to the homebound by our ministers, are to be postponed
