i. respond to the teacher’s questions based on the
story told by the teacher
ii. listen and rearrange the dialogues based on the
sequence of the story
iii. listen and circle the correct characters by listening
to the respective dialogues

regarding the
‘Bujang Senang’
story. Examples:
i. What animal is
‘Bujang
Senang’?
ii. Do you want to
have a
superpower
which you can

crocodile?
1. The teacher puts up a
covered picture on the
whiteboard.
2. Teacher gives a riddle
about the picture for the
pupils to guess.
3. The pupils answer the
riddle and the teacher
uncovers the picture.
4. The teacher briefs about
the picture by asking a
few questions.

‘Bujang Senang’
story by having

pupils clear with

pictures of the ‘Bujang
Senang’ story in
sequence and labels
‘Picture 1’, ‘Picture 2’,
and ‘Picture 3’.
2. The teacher introduces
the characters in the
story. Examples:
i. Simalungun
ii. Villager 1
iii. Villager 2

iv. The Magic Spirits
3. The teacher tells the
story while holding the
stick puppets of the
characters. The teacher
pastes word cards of
important words or
phrases in the story to
make them get clearer
storyline.
4. The teacher discusses
the story by asking the
pupils to respond to the
teacher’s questions.
5. The teacher picks a few
pupils to respond to the
questions. Examples:
i. Who is Simalungun?
ii. In the story, why do
the villagers get angry
towards Simalungun?
iii. Simalungun turns into
what kind of animal?
iv. What is the name of
the crocodile?
v. What is the colour of
the crocodile?
Practice
(15 minutes)
1. To rearrange the
dialogues and
pictures based on
the story told by
1. The teacher jumbles up
the dialogues and
pictures on the
whiteboard.

worksheet that contains
the pictures of the
characters in ‘Bujang

2. The teacher picks pupils
randomly to read the
chosen dialogues to the
class. The other pupils
have to listen to the
dialogues and circle the
correct character that
says out the lines (based
on the dialogues in the
story they have learned
during presentation).
3. The teacher checks the
pupils’ answers.
