Sign of the Cross & Greeting Confiteor I confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, (while striking breast) through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault; (continue) therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. Kyrie (Choir/Cantor first, then All)

THE LITURGY OF THE WORD First Reading Ezekiel 37:12-14

Responsorial Psalm Psalm 130:1-2, 3-4, 5-6ab and 7a, 7b-8

1. Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD; LORD hear my voice! O let your ears be

attentive to the sound of my pleadings. 2. If you, O LORD, should mark iniquities, LORD, who could stand? But with you is found

forgiveness, that you may be revered. 3. I long for you, O LORD, my soul longs for his word. My soul hopes in the LORD more than

watchmen for daybreak. Let Israel hope for the LORD. 4. For with the LORD there is mercy, in him is plentiful redemption. It is he who will redeem

Israel from all its iniquities.

“I am the resurrection and the life, says the Lord; whoever believes in me, will never die.”

Gospel John 11:1-45 Homily

3RD SCRUTINY (4pm liturgy only) The scrutinies are intercessory prayers for the Elect, helping them to search their minds and hearts to get rid of whatever holds them back from Christ and to deepen their love of him. As the scrutinies progress, the elect now place themselves with Lazarus in the tomb, about to meet Christ the Resurrection and the Life. We pray that Jesus will “free from the grasp of death those who await your life-giving sacraments.” In baptism the Elect will, like Lazarus, be raised to new life with Christ and share in the power of his resurrection. Scrutiny Intercessions

Dismissal of the Elect (when the Elect are present)

The Universal Prayer

Nicene Creed I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; Through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, (bow) and by the Holy Spirit was Incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. (rise) For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,

he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
