Create a tax return, application, etc.

A tax return, application, etc., is something like a container to package a set of statements and attachments for submission into one tax return, application, or notification. When sent, this set becomes one unit. Also, you can create multiple tax returns, applications, etc., for one user file.

Register basic information

Register basic information such as name and address of the user (taxpayer) when creating a tax return, application, etc. Since the registered basic information will be automatically displayed on each statement when you create a tax return, application, etc., you can omit to enter the same items.

Extract/import a tax return, application, etc.

You can extract a tax return, application, etc., into a file to import it to another computer. Use this function when you appoint a tax accountant, etc.

Display the "List of tax returns, applications, etc." screen

You manage tax returns, applications, etc., with the "List of tax returns, applications, etc." screen. You can display the "List of tax returns, applications, etc." screen with one of the following procedures:

Display from the menu button Select "Tax return, application, etc." from "Create".

Display from the menu bar Select [View] - [List of tax returns, applications, etc.].

What you can do in the "List of tax returns, applications, etc." screen

You can perform the following operations in the "List of tax returns, applications, etc." screen. For a description of each operation, refer to the corresponding page.

About the status of a tax return, application, etc.

The meanings of "Status" displayed in the "List of tax returns, applications, etc." are shown below. Status Meaning Creating Statements are being created. Signable Creation of all statements pertaining to the tax return, application,

etc., is complete and it can be attached with electronic signatures. Signable (hand calculation)

Creation of all statements pertaining to the tax return, application, etc., is complete and it can be attached with electronic signatures. (Some calculation results of automatic calculation items have been overwritten.)

Incomplete signature The number of attached electronic signatures is less than the total number of the user identification numbers that are set.

Incomplete signature (hand calculation)

The number of attached electronic signatures is less than the total number of the user identification numbers that are set. (Some calculation results of automatic calculation items have been overwritten.)

Pre-signature check error An error occurred in the pre-signature check when it is signed. Sendable It can be sent to the reception system. (The number of attached

It is a procedure for which electronic signatures are not necessary, creation of all statements pertaining to the tax return, application, etc., is complete, and it can be sent to the reception system.

Hint

The "Select statements" screen shows statements that correspond to the procedure type and tax item (and year when it is a tax return) selected in steps 2 and 3 . A procedure category that has [+] to the left has a lower layer. Click [+] to display statements, and then click a statement to select. You can select multiple statements simultaneously (though limited to statements of the same procedure). To view the image of the statement you selected, click [Display statement]. You can add statements later. For how to operate, refer to the following:

7 Click [Next >].

8 Review "Content of the tax return, application, etc. to be created", and then enter

"Name of the tax return, application, etc." The name must be up to 30 characters in

length.

Note

Names of existing tax returns, applications, etc., cannot be used.

9 Click [OK].

The tax return, application, etc., will be created and the "Basic information of the tax return, application, etc." will appear.

Hint

When the created tax return, application, etc., becomes unnecessary, you can delete it. In the "List of tax returns, applications, etc." screen, select the tax return, application, etc., you want to delete, and then click [Delete]. The deleted tax return, application, etc., is stored in the recycle bin.

Display a statement image

You can view an image of a statement when you select a statement.

1 In the "Create a tax return, application, etc. (2/3: Select statements)" screen, select a

statement, and then click [Display statement].

The image of the statement will appear.

2 After viewing the image, click [Close].

The "Display a statement image" screen will close and you will return to the "Create a tax return, application, etc. (2/3: Select statements)" screen.

To change the name of a tax return, application, etc.

To change the name after creating a tax return, application, etc., follow the steps

below:

1. In the "List of tax returns, applications, etc." screen, right-click the tax return,

application, etc., you want to rename.

2. Select "Rename".

The "Rename the tax return, application, etc." screen will appear.

3. Enter "Name of the tax return, application, etc." The name must be up to 30

characters in length.

4. Click [OK].

You will return to the "List of tax returns, applications, etc." screen.

Hint

You can also change the name by selecting [Create] - [Tax return,

application, etc.] - [Rename] from the menu bar.

To restore tax returns, applications, etc. you deleted

You can restore deleted tax returns, applications, etc., from the recycle bin.

From "Create" in the menu button, select "Recycle bin". The following screen will

appear.

Note

If there is a tax return, application, etc. that has the same name in the list

of tax returns, applications, etc., a confirmation message will appear.

Note that the existing tax return, application, etc., will be overwritten by

one restored from the recycle bin when you click [Yes].

Use this button to restore tax returns, applications, etc.

Select the tax return, application, etc. you want to restore, and

then click [Restore]. The selected data will be restored to the

list of tax returns, applications, etc.

Data stored in the recycle

bin are displayed.

Register basic information of the tax return, application, etc., you created. The information registered

here will be automatically displayed in corresponding fields of statements when you create the tax

return, application, etc.

When you appoint a tax accountant, etc., enter information of the tax accountant, etc., too.

Also, as basic information, register settings of multiple places of submission and settings for when

multiple electronic signatures are necessary.

1. Enter basic information. When you create a tax return, application, etc., the following screen will appear.

1 Enter the necessary items.

Note

If you click [OK] with any mandatory fields omitted, an error will appear and you will not be

allowed to proceed.

If you click [OK] without entering the personal number/corporation number in a tax return,

application, etc., that requires it, a warning message will appear. Enter the personal

number/corporation number when you have one.

* When you are a corporation user, the corporation number field is displayed instead of the

personal number.

Hint

When you appoint a tax accountant, etc., and satisfy all the following conditions, you can omit

the electronic signature of the taxpayer himself/herself. Tax accountant information is entered into fields of the basic information such as the user identification number of the tax accountant, etc. The tax accountant, etc., attaches an electronic signature to a tax return, application, etc. The tax accountant, etc., sends data of a tax return, application, etc. However, when you perform a procedure for delivery of certificates of tax payment, an electronic signature of the taxpayer himself/herself cannot be omitted. When a statement year confirmation message appears, confirm the items of "Administrative business year (to)" and "Consolidated administrative business year (to)". When they are correct, select [Yes] to continue the process.

When you are creating for the second time or later, the basic information registered at the

previous time is automatically displayed.

Perform the following operations as necessary: When the procedure requires multiple electronic signatures, such as an inheritance tax:

2 Click [OK].

The basic information will be registered with the user file and a registration completion message will appear.

Register multiple expected signers

To attach multiple electronic signatures for a procedure such as an inheritance tax, perform the following operation to add user identification numbers of users who are to attach their electronic signatures. Incidentally, this operation is not available for tax returns, applications, etc., that do not require electronic signatures of multiple users.

1 In the "Basic information of the tax return, application, etc." screen, click [Set multiple

users].

2 Into "User identification number to add", enter a user identification number of a user

who is to sign to this procedure.

3 Click [Add]. The user identification number you added will be displayed in "Added user identification numbers". Repeat steps 2 to 3 for each user to be added.

4 Click [OK]. You will return to the "List of tax returns, applications, etc." screen.

To change the basic information after creating a tax return, application, etc., follow

the steps below:

Also follow these steps to change/add the place of submission or use it with

multiple users.

1. Select a statement in the "List of tax returns, applications, etc." screen, and then

click [Statement list].

The "Statement list" screen will appear.

2. Click [Change basic information].

The "Basic information of the tax return, application, etc." will appear.

3. Change the desired items, and then click [OK].

A change completion message will appear.

4. Check the message, and then click [OK].

You will return to the "Statement list" screen.

Note

The changes you made are effective for statements displayed in the

statement list.

Because of this, note that all statements with the "Creation complete"

status return to the "Creating" status.

Use the "extract" and "import" functions for a tax return, application, etc.

When you appoint a tax accountant, etc.

Use the "extract" and "import" functions together when multiple signatures are necessary for one tax return, application, etc., for example, when you appoint a tax accountant, etc. A usage example is given below: ① The tax accountant, etc., attaches an electronic signature to a tax return, application,

etc., extracts it, and then sends it to the taxpayer by e-mail, etc.

② The taxpayer imports the received tax return, application, etc., into the e-Tax software, etc., attaches an electronic signature to it, extracts it, and then sends it to the tax accountant, etc., by e-mail, etc.

③ The tax accountant, etc., receives the tax return, application, etc., attached with an electronic signature and sent by e-mail, etc., from the taxpayer, imports it into the e-Tax software, and then sends it to e-Tax (reception system).

Hint

Extract a tax return, application, etc., and save it as a file. By using it together with "import", you can use the extracted file with another computer.

A data file of the tax return, application, etc., (with the extension .xtx) will be stored into the specified save location, and you will return to the "List of tax returns, applications, etc." screen.

Hint

A data file of a tax return, application, etc., is extracted as an XML file (with the extension .xtx).

Import a tax return, application, etc.

Import an extracted tax return, application, etc. into the e-Tax software.

Note

When you import another user's tax return, application, etc., you can view it and attach an electronic signature to it but do not allowed to edit it. Before importing, you need to create a user file.

2 Click [Browse…] to select a data file of a tax return, application, etc., you want to

import.

3 Enter "Name of the tax return, application, etc."

4 Click [OK].

You will return to the "List of tax returns, applications, etc." screen and the imported tax return, application, etc., will be displayed in the list.

Note

If there is a tax return, application, etc., that has the same name, a confirmation message will appear. Click [OK] to overwrite the existing tax return, application, etc., with the imported new one. When you import a tax return, application, etc., that includes financial statements (XBRL 2.0) and is attached with electronic signatures, a signature removal notification may appear. In such a case, all the electronic signatures attached to the imported tax return, application, etc. will be removed.

Hint

"Imported" is displayed in the "Status" field of the imported tax return, application, etc. Page 88 "About the status of a tax return, application, etc."

To import a financial statement (XBRL 2.0), click [Import a financial statement, etc.] in the "Statement list" screen.

To bulk print statements included in a tax return,

application, etc.

You can bulk print statements included in a tax return, application, etc.

1. Select a tax return, application, etc., in the "List of tax returns, applications, etc." screen, and then click "Bulk print". The "Bulk print" screen will appear.

2. Select statements to print. You can select multiple statements by selecting them while pressing the "Ctrl" key or "Shift" key.

3. Click [Print]. The "Statement print setting" screen will appear.

4. Click [Print] in the "Statement print setting" screen. The statements you selected will be printed consecutively and the print progress will displayed. After the printing of all the selected statements is complete, the "Bulk print"

screen will automatically close and you will return to the "List of tax returns, applications, etc." screen.

Note

Attachments and financial statements (XBRL 2.0) cannot be printed with this function. Print them from the "Edit a statement" screen or "Create an attachment" screen. Statements of some tax returns, applications, etc., may be printed without displaying the "Statement print setting" screen.

Hint

In the "Statement print setting" screen, you can set various settings for printing statements.

When you print a tax return, application, etc., that requires a personal number/corporation number, the number may be printed at the top of the paper.
