We kicked off October with our Kindness Campaign and we are going to keep inspiring throughout this month! I have seen some great examples of students showing kindness toward each other. We have witnessed a number of touching moments where students have helped a classmate who was struggling, and also students giving encouragement to friends who have done a nice job. The more kindness and respect we and our students show, the more we will be able to focus ourselves on accomplishing great things together. We are continuing our kindness chain to help identify kind acts in our school and community. We will be displaying it in the cafeteria. Don’t forget to take the Kindness Challenge at home!! November is one of my favorite months of the year. The temperature is finally a bit cooler in the morning and beautiful during the day. I also love the holidays that are focused on family and gratitude. We have much to be grateful for at Skyline Elementary. We have a wonderful, caring staff from our custodian, our Paraprofessionals, our office staff, to all of our teachers. I am grateful every day for the opportunity to work with all of them and I know your children are in good hands. We have supportive parents and community, with a giving and engaged PTO at the forefront. We all say thank you for all that you do to make Skyline Elementary the best school in Lee County. Finally, we have incredible students, who challenge themselves every day to learn and be engaged as well as challenging us to become better people. They are why we are here every day! Check us out on Skyline Elementary Facebook Page where we post all the amazing happenings at school. It is also a time to celebrate our patriotic spirit. From Election Day to Veteran’s Day, we cherish our wonderful country. We take the Veteran’s Day assembly very seriously and feel we have a powerful and moving assembly prepared for our school community. Our students will learn about sacrifice and the true blessing it is to be an American. Thank you for your continued support, Mrs. Trombetti GIVE THE GIFT OF ATTENDANCE THIS YEAR! All families want what is best for their children, but they dont always realize how absences can add up to academic problems. Sometimes they allow children to miss school when its not absolutely necessary. This often happens before and after the winter holidays, as families try to squeeze a few more days out of the vacation season. At the same time, results of a parent survey suggest that families would be willing to shorten vacations if they believe the absences are affecting academic success. Principals and teachers have an opportunity to reduce holiday absences by ensuring that parents and students understand the toll that absenteeism takes on achievement. - A Title 1 School - CHANGING AFTERNOON TRANSPORTATION It is very important that parents make arrangements with their child before coming to school each day.
