Open your web browser.


Go to

http://www.google.com/analytics/.

Sign in to your account.

Click “Sign in.”


Enter your email and password to

sign in.


Then click “Sign in.”


Click “Sign up.”


Fill out the form.


In the form, choose “Website.”


Enter your account name.


Enter your website name.


Enter your website URL.


Select one in the industry category.


Select category of your website.


Select a time zone, click the drop-

down menu to choose.


Select time zone appropriate to

your country.


Leave the data sharing settings

checked.


Click “Get Tracking ID.”


Read the Terms of Service

Agreement.


Click “I Accept.”


Click “Admin.”


Click “Tracking Info.”


Click “Tracking Code.”


Copy the code.


Then paste it to your website.


Note: The code must be inside the

body tag.


To check if your tracking code is

already installed.


Go to your website.


Right click to your page.


Click “View Page Source.”


Press CTRL+F


Type “googleanalyticsobject.”


Then press Enter.


You must see the same code in

your tracking code.


Or you can check tracking info; go

to “Admin.”


Click “Tracking Info.”


Click “Tracking Code.”


Under tracking code, you will see

status: Receiving Data.


Note: It will take 24 hours to 72

hours


to update your status in your

tracking info.


How to use Real-Time to see the data


To see the data, go to “Reporting.”


Click “Real-Time.”


Click “Overview” to view summary

in real-time.


Click “Locations” to view and

locate your audience in real-time.


Click “Traffic Sources” to view real-

time source of your audience.


Click “Content” to view real-time

audience active page.


Click “Events” to view real-time

active users with events.


Click “Conversions” to view active

users with goals.


How to use Audience to see data


Go to “Reporting.”


Click “Audience”, to understand

audience characteristics.


Click “Overview” to show summary

of your audience.


To know the age and gender of

your visitors.


Click “Demographics.”


Click “Overview” to break down

visitors by age and gender.


To know the interests of your

visitors.


Click “Interests.”


Click “Overview” to know what

your visitors are interested in.


To know the language and location

of your visitors.


Click “Geo.”


Click “Language” to see language

of your visitors.


Click “Location” to show location

of your visitors.


To know the behavioral patterns of

your visitors.


Click “Behaviour.”


Click “New vs. Returning” to

distinguish new and returning visitors.


To view count of repeat visits and

recent visits.


Click “Frequency and Recency.”


Click “Engagement” to see the

visits duration.


To know the browser and network

of the visitors.


Click “Technology.”


Click “Browser & OS” to know the

browser of visitors.

service provider of your visitors.


To track mobile and desktop

visitors in your website.

Click “Overview” to show devices

How to Use Acquisition


Click “Acquisition.”

Click “Referral” to view how your

Go to “Adwords” to link Adwords

to your analytic accounts.


To view Webmaster Tools data in

Then click “Add a site to

Webmaster Tools.”


Click “OK.”
