7th Fleet Gathering 2014
Location: New HamburgHome port of the SMS Buddenbrock
Date: 27th Day of September in the Year of our Lord 2014
7th Fleet Gathering 2014
On the 27th day of September, the HMS Iwo Jima, LTH-06, and GNS Glory, CLAC-09, joined forces with the SMS Buddenbrock, BC(P)-07, for a series of war games in and around the orbit of New Hamburg. In a show of interstellar cooperation, the ships of all three navies worked in tandem in several excercises, which included three separate planetary assault missions and two different hunter/killer missions as they hunted for enemy ships to disable so the marines of the Iwo Jima could board and capture them. After all the exercises were completed, the three vessels conducted two different cultural exchange events, where the crews shared their experiences and joy of food and beer with each other.

The Andermani are releasing something odd into the air. The reason for these bubbles, and what they contain, confused me, yet it seemed to make the local citizens near them, when they popped, overly happy and content with life.

During one of the cultural exchanges, the crew of the SMS Buddenbrock showed us that the Andermani seem to have some rather interesting ideas about architecture for some of their cultural representative buildings.

One of the ships that was captured during the exercise. This 'merchant' ship was actually armed with proscribed Solarian weaponry.

Another picture of the crews, this time with me joining for a rare photo op to show I was there for the cultural learning experience as well.

In addition to the above pictures, there were three planetary assault missions that were conducted in and around New Hamburg. During these missions, naval crew members from the GNS Glory and HMS Iwo Jima joined the Marines stationed aboard the HMS Iwo Jima in the exercise. The crew of the SMS Buddenbrock, as well as the local defense forces played as the opposing force for the combined Manticoran and Grayson forces. Captain (SG) Jan Cabrnoch, RMN, led the Blue Forces against several targets, and proved that the Grayson Space Navy, and the Royal Manticoran Navy train their officers in not just naval tactics, but also ground tactics as he led the Blue Forces to two victories out of three missions. Captain David Sanders, GSN, was later quoted as saying to Captain Laura Luschen, CO of the SMS Buddenbrock, that the Imperial Andermani Navy should improve its close-quarters training given to its naval personnel.

In conclusion, this rare gathering of these three navies was an absolute success. Much of this success was due to Bosun Matthias Leuser, who organized the whole event. It was a great opportunity for members from the Czech Republic chapter, the first Andermani ship and the GNS Glory to get together in good fun. It is my opinion that Bosun Leuser be recognized for his hard work and dedication in bringing this event to a complete success that everyone who attended enjoyed. The touring of Hamburg, the visit to the Russian submarine museum ship, the Laser Tag games and finally two different restaurants where good food, beer and camaraderie were had by all who attended, despite some of us traveling over six hours in order to attend, led to a full and enriching event.
