Announcements BISHOP BRAXTON MEETING WITH PARISH LEADERS - St. Patrick, Cairo, St. Rose of Lima Metropolis. On Saturday July 22, 2017, the Parish Administrator, the Parish Leaders of our 2 Partnership Parishes met with Bishop E. Braxton in Belleville, to review the parishes progress being made in implementing the Diocesan Pastoral Plan of Parish Renewal and Reconstruction. The Bishop emphasized that we encourage the parishioners understand that with the current trend of fewer priests and fewer numbers of church attendants in some parishes, there is need for parishioners to have more active involvement of Ecclesial Lay Ministries to help growth of our Churches. Talk with these par- ish leaders for more details. The Pastor will also explain more details during the next several weekend Masses. God says - I will bless you and multiply you - Hebrews 6:14. AUGUST 23, 2017 - South Vicariate Meeting @ St. Rose - Metropolis: The Priests working in the South Vicariate of Belleville Diocese (parishes from Marion to Cairo, and Metropolis) will have a meeting at St Rose of Lima Parish, on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 @ 12:00 - 3:30 pm. St. Rose Feast Day Parish Potluck will be August 26th after the Mass in the Parish Hall. There is a sign up sheet in the back of church. Please sign the list for "Attending" so we will know how much chicken to order or send Diane Block an email at [email protected]. Then, please sign up for the side dishes and salads. And of course, there will be a sign-up sheet to help set up the tables prior to the potluck and one for cleaning up after the meal. Thank you very much! SPECIAL THANKS TO ST. ROSE OF LIMA PARISH: On behalf of the agencies, ministries and departments that are supported through The Catholic Service and Ministry Appeal and those they serve, please accept our heartfelt gratitude for accepting the challenge put forth by Our Holy Father Pope Francis to “share the blessings which God has provided us” and so generously supporting this year’s Ap- peal. Also, congratulations on exceeding your parish’s CSMA financial goal!! It is your Christian caring and generosity that gives help and hope to those in need. Thank you again so very much. Braxton and the 14 agencies funded by The Catholic Service and Ministry Appeal St. Rose hosts “At the River” Ministry Meal - Monday, August 28th: We are hosting the “At the River” Ministry Meal for the month of August at its new location, New Beginnings Church on 12th Street. There is a volunteer sign-up sheet in the back of church for servers. We are also collecting personal hygiene items to be given away that night. There is a basket in the back of church for donations of toilet paper, deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, etc... A complete list can be found with the basket in the back of church.
