The 8 step checklist to
transform your website and
create a lasting impression.
Every day I see websites with crucial mistakes that turn customers
away and leave money on the table. The reality is making key changes to
your site is easier than many think.
In this ebook I’m giving you the 8 step checklist to walk you through
exactly what changes should be made to yield the biggest reward.
Your website needs to be the business partner you wish you had.
Available 24/7 to speak on your behalf, woo potential customers
and make sales while you sleep.
This is where I see people get stuck year after year, so I want to make it
easy on you and set you up for success! On the following pages I’ll walk
you through each step and include some examples from the amazing
folks I have had the pleasure of designing for.

S T E P 1Building your email list is key because it’s
the only list you’ll have full control over. As
social media changes you’ll have to shell
out more money for more reach, making it
more expensive to connect with your target
audience. However, this is not the case
with email. Email doesn’t seem to be going
anywhere any time soon and that’s why it’s
important to focus on list building. The
fastest way to grow your list is with a top
notch opt-in offer.
An opt-in offer allows your visitor to give their
name and email address in exchange for an
item. This could be an ebook, checklist, video,
or audio - really there are tons of different
things you can offer. It is important to ensure
your offer is useful, unique and helpful. By
doing so, you’ll create a high-converting opt-
in offer in no time.

S T E P 2This is where it can get a bit technical. In order
to gather email addresses you need to be able to
collect your visitor’s information through your
website. You do this by first signing up for an
email marketing platform and then integrating
that with your site. Each platform comes with
its own instructions on how to do this. Like most
folks just starting out, I used the email marketing
platform, Mailchimp. It’s very easy to use and it’s
100% free for up to 2000 subscribers.
Once you’ve chosen your provider, you’ll need to
set up your list. When that’s complete you’ll grab
your code and insert it into your site. You’ll want
to use some text that captivates your visitor and
describes your opt-in. Franchesca does a great job
of that in the example on the next page!

S T E P 3When I’m looking to try a new restaurant in town the first place
I visit is Yelp. When I’m looking to purchase a new tripod for my
camera I jump on Amazon. And when I’m looking to book an
appointment with a new hair stylist I go to StyleSeat. The one
thing I’m looking for on all of these sites are THE REVIEWS!
Reviews guide so many of our purchases these days, it’s no wonder
that your visitor will look for a testimonial before they hire you.
Have 3-5 on your homepage to show what folks say about their
experience working with you. For an added boost, include a photo!
PA G E 9
S T E P 4Your training and experience can be what sets
you apart from your competitors. Include things
like what school you went to, what projects you’ve
worked on, what courses you’ve taken, and what
skills you possess. Are you a master at programs
like Photoshop, Infusionsoft or Lightroom?
It’s always great to highlight these strengths.
You can list out your credentials or even include
a downloadable resume in PDF form.
S T E P 5Web designers love to bring up that statistic
“You have 3 seconds to grab the attention of your
visitor before they move on to the next site.” So
how can you be sure to capture their attention?
Amazing images! If your website is the home for
your business, then professional photography
is a must. If you are unable to get a photoshoot
done, you can purchase some awesome stock
photography that is very affordable. My favorite
stock photography sites are Death to the Stock
Photo, Stocksy, and Creative Market.

S T E P 6Video is such a powerful tool that
can bring loads of personality into
a website. You can give a quick
introduction via video just to show
that there is a real human behind your
business. This will give your site a very
personal touch. Or, if you’re an actress
or entertainer include a video as a way
to show off your talents to those who
may want to hire you for their next
project. If you’re looking to get hired
as a speaker, a video of you captivating
an audience onstage is an awesome
addition to your site.
S T E P 7The quickest way to put your potential customers’ minds at
ease is to show them the brand names or logos of those you
have worked with. This immediately fosters a feeling of trust
and tells your potential customer they are indeed in good
hands. Think of the way large companies pay huge amounts of
money to celebrities and influencers to publicly endorse their
products. You consciously or subconsciously watch Rihanna’s
Fenty Beauty being reviewed by your fave Youtuber and think
“Well dang, if she likes it I should go out and try it for myself.”
That’s the power of social proof and logos are a super fast way
to get that point across and increase conversions.

When you showcase your work you are able to display
the best of what you can do and guide your potential
clients to focus on what you want them to see. You
also give your visitor an idea of who you are looking
to work with so they know immediately if they are
a good fit. This is important so think about who you
are looking to target when considering what work to
show on your site.

I create iconic brands for remarkable women and their unique gifts.
To put it simply, I make websites that showcase the best YOU. Uncanny
empathy combined with my expert knowledge of online marketing
allows me to strategically build 6 and 7-figure brands alongside each
of my clients. Nothing makes me happier than to see my clients gain
the confidence and clarity to break sales records and develop stronger
relationships with their customers.
As a professional designer for the past 10 years, I’ve had the pleasure
of creating design strategies for YouTubers, content creators and
even Grammy award winning artists. I spent over 6 years as a senior
in-house designer at Revolve.com, where I created promotions and
marketing graphics for the world’s top tier clothing brands including
Marc by Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg, and more. My designs
have been featured on sites such as Refinery29 and BuzzFeed and
on television including VH1, TVOne, and The Food Network.
