Welcome to our quarterly newsletter. We love design. We are passionate about the
design work we do. We also want to share our experience with some of the people we
cross paths with. Here is what we have been up to and who we find inspiring.

Mountain Lumber
These guys were green before green was the new black. They have brilliant flooring and lumber, but also great vision. We have been fortunate to design their new exhibit/showroom in Charlottesville which opens in April. Willie Drake, the founder is the ultimate wood whisperer. He can spot heart pine through many layers of soot, paint or other debris. This company is going to make a big noise in the coming year.www.mountainlumber.com
Richmond Pro Cycling
Craig Dodson and I are both passionate fans of cycling, triathlon and all endurance sports. So we were happy when Craig tapped us to help articulate the vision around a new paradigm in professional cycling. Craig has inspred us with his unique ideas and approach to professional cycling. Together with our friends Endorphin Fitness and Carytown Bicycles, Richmond is an emerging leader in the growing cycling and multisport trend in the country.www.richmondprocycling.com
The Faison School We learned of the Faison School last year as we were asked to help prepare for their annual fundraising gala the the Charles Luck Stone Center. This school for autistic children inspires us in many ways. Addressing a growing crisis confronting the next generation, The Faison School operates with bold vision, community engagement and passion.www.thefaisonschool.org
unveiling
Charles Luck Stone Center
We look forward with anticipation to the opening of the Charlotte location for the Charles Luck Stone Center. The Richmond and Sterling locations have taught us alot and we are certain this new market will provide inspiration around this leading brand in the stone industry. We have been impressed by the skill and craftsmanship of the masons on the project
St Seraphim of Sarov Perhaps the project that has taught us the most. The history of Eastern Orthodox architecture is rich and diverse. It is as ancient and classic style and contemporary manifestations are fascinating. We look forward to the ground breaking of this new building that elevates the role of design as a component of faith and worship.
Mountain Lumber Creating a showroom that pushes the conventional ides of reclaimed lumber, we are featuring an elliptical backlit heart pine wall as the centerpiece. Working with Gaston & Wyatt in Charlottesville, we previewed the prototype pictured here recently. Located in downtown Charlottesville, this showroom will be a catalyst for a new brand identity and presence to the design community and will expolire their materials in new and inventive ways.

thanks for reading! check out our new blog! fraserdesignblog.blogspot.com
Spring! The Marvin Lang Bulding, our studio, turns out to be a great event space. We will have regular openings to promote the work of friends and collaborators. When the weather turns we will welcome Spring with a great show. More to come.
VCU Dept of Interior Design Part of the Mission of Fraser Design is to engage the University and build a bridge between the academic and professional community. The department is using our studio for a design studio project. We can't wait to jury some of the inventive ideas for our building.
Creative Change Center'Revolution, not Evolution: New paradigms in commerce, brand articulation and creativity as components of contemporary business vision. A case study of the Charles Luck Stone Center’ will be our presentation at the Brekfast Club in March, to be held here in the studio. C3 is a Richmond asset and we encourage everyone to participate in their programs. www.c3richmond.org
Sharing Vision Identity Brand and Environment is the subject of our lecture series. Using case studies we investigate these interwoven and interdependent elements that are essential to promoting great ideas. The landscape of the corporate, retail and hospitality market is rapidly changing, we want to help people keep up!
PROJECT OVERVIEW AND TIMELINEThe Greater Fulton Community Vision and Agreement emerged from a partnership between Virginia Local Initiatives Support Corporation (Virginia LISC), the Neighborhood Resource Center of Greater Fulton Hill (NRC) and the residents of the Greater Fulton community, which includes the neighborhoods of Fulton, Fulton Hill and Montrose Heights. In the summer of 2010, Virginia LISC and the NRC agreed to initiate the creation of a Community Vision for the three East End neighborhoods comprising Greater Fulton. During the late summer and fall of 2010, residents of the Greater Fulton community and external stakeholders representing various city agencies and nonprofit organizations in Richmond worked together to craft an initial vision document. The Community Vision describes existing and desired future conditions for the Greater Fulton community in Richmond’s East End. It was created through a community engagement process which helped to uncover and build upon the ideas
and desires of residents and other local stakeholders. The Community Vision is intended to be a catalyst for continued community engagement – and to provide a new starting point for the community, the City of Richmond and other partners to strengthen Greater Fulton. As a starting point, the Community Vision is designed to be a working document that is reviewed and revised as the community leaders from Greater Fulton move forward to initiate the initiatives, programs and activities outlined in this document. As more residents are engaged in the implementation of this Community Vision, and progress is made on specific elements of the document, it is anticipated that new ideas and opportunities will be identified for future action.
