Endless Embroidery Basics Learn the basics to be successful. Create an endless embroidery, learn how to use the reference marks for successful hooping and learn to change hoop sizes during an endless embroidery You need: fabric and stabilizer 10” x 42” (or selvedge to selvedge), the mega hoop and oval hoop with their corresponding templates and 2 colors of Isacord thread. th motif

10. Save the design to the My Designs folder 11. Press the green check to confirm 12. Attach the hoop with fabric 13. Press the green check and engage the Resequence Icon 14. Embroider DON’T FORGET TO STITCH OUT THE REFERENCE MARKS – THEY ARE A COLOR STOP – THEY DO NOT SEW OUT AUTOMATICALLY. 15. When the embroidery is finished, there are 2 options on screen. Select the endless embroidery option

Tip: Before unhooping, lay the template on the finished embroidery and note where the design begins to sew – this is approximately the space you need to have for rehooping so all of the design fits in the hoop.

16. Press the next page icon, and attach the hoop 17. Press the reference mark in the upper Left corner and the needle moves to left reference mark. Press the

Upper Right corner icon to align the right sewn reference mark. Use the multifunction knobs to align the needle over the reference marks. Rock the handwheel to move the needle into the point of the reference mark (as pictured on screen). Be sure to move the needle to the highest position before using the multi-function knobs or selecting the other reference mark. (NOTE: rehooping will only be necessary if it is not straight or there is not enough room in the hoop to sew the entire set)

18. Press the green check and embroider the 4 motifs a second time 19. Rehoop with the oval hoop using the template for alignment.

20. Attach the hoop to the machine (and the oval hoop is detected) 21. ‘X’ out of the endless embroidery screen and ‘X’ out of the sewing screen and go to the edit screen 22. Touch the retrieve icon to deselect all the motifs 23. Delete the first 2 motifs 24. Use the retrieve icon to select all and center by pressing the Move Icon 25. Check to Confirm 26. Select the endless embroidery icon from the sewing screen and press the hand leading to the next page 27. Align the reference marks 28. Sew the last 2 motifs using the oval hoop and this ends the session, so it is not necessary to sew the

reference marks. Note: We deleted the first 2 motifs, however, it is possible to delete the last 2 motifs and still sew the design. The 830 does embroider with things outside the hoop, as the reference marks will be. Centering the design will still be necessary. To embroider, sew everything except the reference marks (which will be outside the hoop) – and there will be a caution symbol flashing on the screen.

Endless Embroidery with Lettering Use Embroidery Lettering with vertical and horizontal options to create endless lettering borders.

Endless Embroidery with Imported Stitches Create endless embroidery using imported stitches as singles and as stitch combinations to create accents for your projects, gifts and ready made items.

This exercise creates an argyle pattern by importing tapering and decorative stitches into embroidery. Argyle Part 1 1. Import Stitch #1212 into embroidery and select from the My

Designs Folder 2. Select the Medium hoop and endless embroidery for 5 repeats 3. Deselect the reference marks and check to confirm 4. Select the oval hoop 5. Rotate the string of stitches -45 degrees 6. Duplicate and Mirror Image Left/Right 7. Move the second string to form an upside down ‘V’ and with the

stitches touching at the corner 8. Use the Retrieve icon to select all and touch the Move icon to

center 9. Duplicate and Mirror Image Top/Bottom 10. Use the multi-function knobs to move the second ‘V’ into position forming an ‘X’. Tip: By using the knobs,

the previous motif will not accidentally be selected and it is possible to eliminate saving in stages.

11. Save the design Argyle Part 2 (tapered box) 12. Select tapering stitch #1416 and the first tapering option 13. Import Stitch #1416 into embroidery and select from the My Designs

Folder 14. Rotate the tapered line -45 degrees 15. Duplicate and Mirror Image Left/Right 16. Move the second taper line to form an upside down ‘V’ and with the

stitches touching at the corner 17. Use the Retrieve icon to select all and touch the Move icon to center 18. Duplicate and Mirror Image Top/Bottom 19. Use the multi-function knobs to move the second ‘V’ into position

forming a Square’. Tip: By using the knobs, the previous motif will not accidentally be selected and it is possible to eliminate saving in stages. Tips for working with Endless Embroidery and Importing Stitches 1. Stitch Combinations can also be brought into Embroidery 2. All Stitches including Buttonhole can be imported into embroidery 3. When stitching them out, on the embroidery sew-out screen, deactivate the automatic thread

cutting icon. 4. Use Pattern repeat to set the number of patterns prior to coming into embroidery. The entire stitch

combination acts as one unit, and becomes easier to manipulate, however, the original set will not be able to be taken apart.

a. In Sewing, Select Stitch #501

b. Set Pattern Repeat to 3x

c. Touch the Module icon and select the pattern from the My Designs Folder. The pattern thumbnail shows 3 patterns.

d. When selected, select the Oval Hoop, 2 patterns fill the hoop

Endless Embroidery with Imported Stitches of different sizes

Creating Inserts or Decorative Bands/Edgings with Imported Stitches Creating continuous bands of stitches requires that each individual string of stitches be the same length to avoid having gaps. Changing the size of the pattern or pattern string will accomplish this. Remember the stitch’s primary function is to sew perfectly in sewing, so some changes may not yield the desired result in embroidery if alterations were severe. Always do a trial sew out. Import Pattern 1

1. Select stitch #202 and import into embroidery

2. Select the Oval Hoop

3. Duplicate and Mirror Image (left/right) 4. Move so the patterns connect 5. Select Endless embroidery for 2 pattern repeats 6. Turn off the reference marks 7. Duplicate and delete the original pattern string 8. Save the duplicated pattern string Import Pattern 2

9. Select stitch #172 and import into embroidery

10. Select the Oval Hoop

11. Select Endless embroidery for 5 pattern repeats 12. Turn off the reference marks 13. Duplicate and delete the original pattern string 14. Save the duplicated pattern string Make the Repeat

15. Select Pattern #2

16. Duplicate and move across the hoop (Turn on the Zoom function and the Grid to align the patterns perfectly)

17. Use the Retrieve icon to select all and touch the Move icon to center 18. Add Pattern #1 (it should center on the screen) 19. Pattern 1 is probably shorter than pattern 2 – to change, select pattern 2 on screen by touching it and

rescale until it is the same length as pattern 2. In this case, rescale to 119%. 20. Select the Mega Hoop and Endless embroidery and activate the reference marks

Tip: To make individual strings have the same length, select one pattern and note the length from the measurement on screen, and change the second pattern to match its size. Rescale or Skew height will both lengthen the pattern string.
