STONE MULCH – IN AREAS WHERE STONE MULCH IS TO BE USED, PLANT TREES AND SHRUBS AT FINISHED GRADE WITH AMENDMENTS AND SOIL INCORPORATED INTO THE SOIL SURROUNDING, LEAVING FOUR INCHES FOR NON-WOVEN, PERMEABLE WEED FABRIC AND SIX INCHES OF STONE. COBBLE MULCH TO BE 6" DEEP, 3-6 INCH, GRAY RIVER COBBLE; ROCK MULCH TO BE 4" DEEP 1-2" GRAY DECORATIVE ROCK.
PREPARATION & CARE OF SEEDED AREAS:PREPARE SOIL, ROUGH GRADE AND AMEND SOIL FOR PERENNIAL BEDS AND GRASS AREAS AS ABOVE FOR NATIVE PLANT MIXES, SUCH AS “FOOTHILLS MIX” OR “LOW GROW MIX” OR “DETENTION POND/WETLAND MIX” FROM ARKANSAS VALLEY SEED SOLUTIONS, OR EQUAL, AND PERENNIAL BEDS.
TO OPTIMIZE WEED CONTROL, MOW OR MANUALLY CUT ANNUAL INVASIVE WEEDS IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO WEEDS SETTING SEED. THIS MAY HAVE TO BE DONE SEVERAL TIMES DURING THE FIRST GROWING SEASON. IF INVASIVE OR NOXIOUS WEEDS MIGRATE INTO SEEDED AREAS, MECHANICALLY REMOVE OR SPOT TREAT WITH BIODEGRADABLE ROUND-UP OR EQUAL, WAIT TWO WEEKS AND THE OVER SEED THE BARE SPOT.
SEEDING DIFFERENT AREAS:SEED THE DETENTION POND AREA WITH THE DETENTION POND/WETLAND MIX WHERE DETENTION POND IS DELINEATED IN THE LANDSCAPE PLAN. SEED TO THE SOUTH OF THE PARKING LOT AND AROUND THE TRASH ENCLOSURE WITH ARKANSAS VALLEY’S “LOW GROW MIX” OR EQUAL.
